STAY AWAY

Rip Off all the way, was quoted a price 55.00 for grooming, husband took dog in they said would you like the spa treatment he said yes, they never said it was 15.00 more and just told him to sign here. well my husband figured grooming was the spa treatment. They played him, and I asked yesterday for the quote because last time we did pay 70.00 but I was there and they said the spa shampoo was calming so I agreed only the first time for the 70.00, then they said would you like to leave a tip, he said yeah a couple bucks cuz he was shocked when he saw the bill for 70.00 when he said his wife told him they quoted her 55.00, then they said ok how's 5.00 tip so that's how they rip you off there. will NEVER go back and I know a lot of people that wont either.

this place is the best kennel i have ever taken my dogs to! we are a military family and move frequently- been to many kennles over the years- the past 8 months of working with royal pet resort has been the best experience our dogs have ever had- the staff goes out of the way to make them feel comfortable and it now shows in how happy they are when they go there to stay! I have been very impressed - and would recommend everyone check the place out for them selves before reading some of the reviews I have seen- with the effort they have put into my 2 rather difficult dogs, I find it hard to believe some comments that have been posted

Royal Pet Resort Pet Boarding Review from Clearfield, Pennsylvania

RIPOFF ARTISTS - They use trickery to get more money from you. I was in town from Ohio for the holidays, and needed to pick up my dogs the day after Christmas. The girl on the phone said I would not be able to pick my dogs up until 2pm. Because we had to drive back to Ohio that day and planned to leave around 10am this was an inconvenience, but we had no other options. NEVER WAS IT MENTIONED THAT I WOULD BE CHARGED A FULL DAY BECAUSE OF THEY'RE SCHEDULE. We arrived at the kennel right at 2pm, and were charged and extra $50!! When I asked about this extra charge I was only told that it's in the fine print of the "contract" and it is because there are too many dogs that need to be groomed before they are picked up, so they need the extra time. My dogs were NOT groomed. They simply sat on a concrete floor for 4 more hours while the owners raked in the extra money. This is poor business. I was told "I'm sorry you are unhappy with this family business, but that is our policy". My father also owned a "family business" in the area for 35 years, and he never deceived his customers this way. He cared about his customers' concerns. The guy on the phone also told me they've had issues with this in the past and that is why they added the fine print. Just to recap...I was told I could NOT pick up my animals until 2pm. When I picked them up promptly at 2, I was charged a full extra day because I picked my dogs up after 12pm. Pretty sneaky. Unless you wish to support poor and dishonest business practices from a place that has no regrets about ripping off its customers, I would recommend you take your animals elsewhere. There are plenty of other nice options in the area where you will actually receive the services you pay for.

Trickery? - as the owner of the business, I personally checked this clients 2 dogs in- the husband and his wife's father met with me (not the wife who is the person writing this complaint) Due to concerns with the one dogs shyness and potential problems with agression I took extra time to not only make sure the dog was comfortable with me , but also with additional staff members.

Husband filled out paperwork wich clearly explain price structure - NO SMALL print! Holidays are set up to require a minimum days stay- it was Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!! Husband and father in law left understanding prices , scheduled fee structure,what we offer at our facility and the fact that we were willing and able to provide their dog,- who according to the owner was apparently not an easy one,- a good ,attention based , caring stay at our facility. We had great success and I personally worked each day to make sure both of their pets were not only safe and doing ok , but that they were happy, eating well and comfortable!

It amazes me that the person who never entered our business, never cared to know about the animals well being , could the turn and write such a horrible review! I also wonder why, being that they live in ohio did they drive so far to leave the pets in a new place- I personally along with my amazing staff worked hard over the Christmas holidays while she was able to relax and not worry about the pets well being.

I love what I do , I am proud of my business and the folks who work for me-and we deserve to be paid fairly for what we do. the fact that people are willing or able to trash a place they don't even know or understand is beyond my comprehension- especially over this season -

Becky and her staff have always been very kind, courteous and extremely loving to all the animals in her facility. They’re the only people who’ve been able to handle my dogs and it’s the only place they’ll stay.

She and her staff have gone above and beyond to work with my difficult dogs. If you want a cheap place for your pets to stay, take them somewhere else. I guess you get what you pay for? But at the Royal Pet Resort, you pay for your animal to have the best treatment.

If that means spending a little extra money, so be it. At least I can know that my pets are in great care while I’m gone. If we ever leave our pets, it’s always at RPR. Becky has actually even taken time for me to bring my one dog just to meet with him, one on one, to get to know him and make him feel more comfortable with her (free of charge BTW).

He loves her and he doesn’t love too many people. I’ve never met anyone who will go above and beyond for animals like they do at RPR. They do truly care about your animals. They’re not thrown on a piece of concrete and forgotten about like this one commenter posted.

Some services do cost money though and that’s because it’s a business! And if you’re making someone leave their family on Christmas to return your animal, you should expect that to be a fee.

Royal Pet Resort Pet Boarding Review

We had our puppy boarded for 2 days.Was very happy with the them.Also, milo enjoyed his time there.Employees made it clear of the time frames and if not picked up by 12:00 it would be considered another days fee.

Urgent! Do not board your pets here!

When we picked up our two dogs after a one week stay and paying over $500 the dogs (typically in show condition) were filthy dirty, smelled terrible, were (for the first time) losing their hair, were trembling and even crying as if they were tortured. My wife cried all the way back and so we immediately decided to take them to Petco for a complete and thorough cleaning. What kind of place is this? The name Royal is a complete joke. PLEASE heed this warning if you love your pets. Even the front office smells bad. The staff is nice but the facility and care rendered is really bad. BEWARE!

Pet injured during kennel boarding

My dog was staying at Royal Pet Resort for 8 days while we were on vacation in February of 2013. After I picked him up and took him home, my family and I noticed that his muzzle had a scratch on it and that his tail was swollen and not standing upright like it usually does. It was after hours so I couldn't call that day, but a call placed yesterday has still gone unreturned. I took him to the vet for an X-ray yesterday as well. Exam, X-ray and med came to 106.50 and no price available for the pain it caused my dog. The diagnosis was sprain with a possible chipped vertebrae. Also, they tried to overcharge me for services that I did not request but amended my charge that day. I will never use Royal Pet Resort again and I am writing this as a warning to be careful if you choose to do business with them.
