Unresponsive Company, but I ultimately received my entire order after months of emails.

I was looking for reasonably priced equipment for a large climbing/rappelling kit and found ropesgear.com. The prices were good, and they had what I needed so I placed a fairly large order.

After a few days of not hearing anything about the order I wanted to reach out, and got a little nervous when I realized there was no good contact info on the website. Wondering if I just got scammed, I took a look at sites like this one for confirmation, so I could either find a way to contact the company or work to get my money refunded.

On looking at reviews, I hoped that it was not a scam, and simply a company with very poor communication. THIS turned out to be the case. It took a lot of back and forth emails with the company (contact@***.com) but once I got a response, they were fairly responsive and actually pretty helpful in troubleshooting a mistake I had made with my original order (needed to swap out one one type of rope for another).

I still had a massive delay on receiving my entire order, but now, months later, it is all in hand.

I happened to have the time, since I ordered in the late fall/early winter, and didn't need the gear until this spring, but my overall experience with the company was generally unprofessional and not what I expect from a typical business.

Bottom line. Good prices, but extremely poor communication and slow shipping times.

If the prices are the best you can find, and you're patient with communicating and waiting for your order to ship, then go for it.

I've been struggling to find the right gear for our camp outdoor activities and stumbled upon RopesGear. I placed an order for most of what I needed and then realized I ordered the wrong model of harness.

I sent an email asking if they could cancel my harnesses so I could get the correct ones and Brian asked what kind I was looking for. He let me know the style I wanted wasnt on their website but that he could get them for me! He updated my order AND added them to their website inventory so that i could easily order them again.

There was another piece of gear I was just striking out in finding anywhere... So I asked Brian if there was a chance they carried them (even though they weren't on the website.

He tracked some down for me in no time and had them shipped out that day!

Truly, this has been a great experience. I never expect any company to find things for me that aren't readily available on their website.

And for someone who was just given a task to order specific things (but I'm not super knowledgeable in all of this gear.) it was so nice to have additional help. I'm so appreciative of their above and beyond customer service.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product or service ordered. Order came in piecemeal, but after weeks it's finally here..

Update, 28 days since ordering. Today we received the rope we ordered.

However when you click on the company's shipping website it says the harnesses were delivered (which they were NOT).

And, it also says the rope has NOT been delivered (which it was).So now were are missing 12 Harnesses and three helmets - $555! All we've received is one helmet (website says they shipped 4) and one climbing rope - $261We have emailed the company and have not received a response!

Update on 4/7: Got just ONE helmet out of several today. Wrong color!

Still no harnesses or rope. Been 25 days since ordered and paid for.

We won’t be doing business with this company ever again. And if we don’t get the rest of the equipment VERY soon we will contest the charge with the credit card company.

I ordered $816 ($826 with shipping) worth of rock climbing gear three weeks ago today. There was immediately an email stating the order was received, however the equipment never came.

I emailed the company several times about two weeks in and there was no response.

ZERO, ZIPPO, NADA! There is no phone number for this business so I cant even call!
Now I have to dispute the charge with the credit card company!

Just got the final delivery, 5 weeks to the day we ordered. Helmets aren't the correct color, but hey, everything is here Learned our lesson though.
