Ron Roberts Hardwood Floors was recommended to me from a co worker. I had seen the negative reviews but my co workers floors looked beautiful.

So I gave him a chance. We are so glad that we did. He installed new flooring in our entire house. He sanded it and finished it beautifully.

He and his crew were very professional and clean.

The floors are beautiful. We are excited to have friends and family for the holidays and will be referring Ron to everyone.

My wife and I had seen the negative reviews after we had already received a bid from him. We had given him a deposit of $1,600.00 three days prior.

I called him because we were very concerned about what we had seen online and told him we were reconsidering having him do our job. He immediately teturned our deposit which he hadn't even cashed yet, and after a long, positive discussion, my wife and I decided to have him do our whole house with new oak flooring anyway. He and his crew did an excellent job. They were very professional and it turned out beautiful!

We have since refered him to my mother in law and another friend.

Our experience with Ron was excellent and we are happy that we went with our instinct by hiring him. We can't be more satisfied.

A neighbor referred me to him, said he did a good job on her floors, I should have googled him but I didn't. I would have known that he is a *** man, had me pay him before work was completed, had to come back several times to try to make the floors look decent, made them worse, clearly didn't know what he was doing and then disappeared.

Come to find out he has scammed many people this way, left their floors a wreck, is no longer licensed and has several judgements against him.

Someone told me he has done time in jail for this.. a very bad guy who lies right to your face.

Ron Roberts of West Hills, CA of Ron Roberts Hardwoods, who advertises on Craigslist is the most dishonest person I've ever met. He takes your money, doesn't show up to do the job, has scammed dozens of people.

The internet is full of complaints against him. He has dozens of small claims judgments against him also. He's being investigated right now by LAPD. Use our bad experiences as your guide.

He asks for money up front and gives you all sorts of reasons why he should be paid up front. When he gets your money, usually meeting at an ATM, you'll never hear from him again.

I didn't have as bad of an experience as most of you did, but the guy does do sloppy work. He installed and stained my unfinished oak flooring but his finish coating was horrible. Streaks everywhere.

Now I have to get a TRUE professional to come and fix/ finish his shotty work.

Ron claims to be a "contractor" that can get "contractor prices." Truth is his contractors license has been revoked for more than 10 years! Information can be verified thru the Consumer Affairs California Contactors Board at CA.GOV.

This means consumers have no protection thru insurance claims against Ron if he takes a deposit from you, fails to perform or if he or one of his hired employees are injured in your home. ANYONE performing work for more than $500 must be a LICENSED contractor. Consumers are not required to pay more than a 10% deposit and no more than $1,000. The NUMEROUS lawsuits and judgments filed primarily in LA County small claims court against Ron would not have been awarded without proper notice to the defendant and without proof of evidence.

Ron fails to appear in court to defend himself but continues his efforts at salvaging his reputation thru on-line forums. Beware LA COUNTY he continues to illegally advertise thru CRAIGSLIST targeting high end areas such as Malibu. Unlawful advertising and contracts with Ron should be immediately reported to the California Contractor License Board. And if you still decide to hire Ron let him perform the work - if he even shows up.

Unlicensed contractors have no recourse to sue for non payment of services, if it even gets that far. Seems he likes cold hard cash first then there's no need for him to show up to perform services as promised.

Ron Roberts DBA as Ron Roberts Hardwood Floors and R&R Hardwood is a Thief!!! I received a proposal to install some Bamboo Floors, he needed $3725 up front to purchase the materials from his supplier at his contractor's prices.

After a few delays I asked for a copy of his materials invoice, at that point I never heard from him again. He doesn't respond to emails (can only reach him through LA County Craigslist) or his phone which he does not answer.

Probably due to the fact that I did some in depth research and found that he owes a minimum of $30,000 dolllars in small claims judgments filed through Orange County, CA and Los Angeles, CA courts. Who knows how many others he has ripped off and they just never pursued action against him.
