Rollup called me with a NASTY phone call and told me they will never service me even though I have a 15 year warranty..He told me he did not like my review and will not service me.. Told me to have a nice life and never contact them again..Awning not working and cannot find a serviceman who will touch Rollup Awnings..Help me wrote to BBB and awaiting their response...Thank you
I needed service on my awning and they were not helpful at all. They wanted to charge me $130.00 just to come 'look' at the problem, not fix it.
Preferred solution: Service under my warranty.
User's recommendation: Do not use Rollup poor customer service

Verified ReviewerAnn the service manager is nasty and rude.George claimed I upset his office. Rollup has terrible customer service and I advise to go to another company.
I requested service on my rollup and they wanted to charge me $130.00 to just come "look" at it. I am under a 15 year warranty and Ann said "what did I expect after 9 years" not a good answer when I paid $4000.00 for this awning..Not happy at all with their service...They should know how to treat returning customers and not just new ones spending money.
User's recommendation: Go to another company not Rollup

HE THAN CALLED ME "A *** AND HUNG UP.

Verified ReviewerShoddy product, worse service, abusive language
Awning fabric separated due to inferior thread. The owner was extremely rude.
He did not listen to my valid complaint and insulted me
- Bad product and worse service
Preferred solution: Publicize bad product and poor service
User's recommendation: Avoid this company. Poor reputation, poorer service
Horrible customer service
Have been a customer since 2006, reinstalled canvass in 2016, now canvass has pin holes and stitching coming out, arm broke, chain hanging out, needed two new arms, but canvass not in great condition, wanted to charge $2800 for the new arms only, the Lady who answers the phone is very rude, all in all we would be into this awning for over $10,000, we called Sunsetter and they will install new awning in one day, no waiting, reasonable price and the people are so nice with wonderful customer service
User's recommendation: recommendation shop around as Roll Up has terrible customer service, their people should go for trainingg
Consumers need to be informed
I purchased my home in 2006.
The retractable awning that was purchased by the previous owners I still have.
I wanted to replace the fabric. About 2 years ago I looked to have it replaced.
Was not good timing so I never did.
Fast forward to yesterday I called again he quoted me a price over phone which I remember why I
didnt do in the first place.
Very expensive to replace fabric.
I decided to make some other calls to get other estimates.
I found another company who would do for $600 less.
I let Rollup know that I did not need to come out for I found a better price. I didnt order and cancel it was a conversation quote only!!
Not according to this owner of Roll-up. How dare I waste his time. He called me and was so rude I still can not believe how he spoke to me.
Trust me I am never short for words or a snag comment.
His rudeness shocked me I was shaking with anger for a good 1/2 hour
I find out why he thinks he can and does treat people the way he does.
His product is a patten he tries to monopolize the industry.
He can charge what ever he wants because his company is the only one who can repair and replace.
So basically I would have no choice but to reach out to his company if anything goes wrong with my awning parts & frame
However he told me he closed my file and if I need anything in the future I cannot get it from his company.
He is only in business because he controls it. Shame on Rollup awnings.
Was not your lucky day speaking with me.
Everyone I know will hear about how you treat people.
UNPROFESSIONALISM
I have a problem with the motor in my Rollup awning. I spoke with the "owner" Ray who told me it may be as simple as the "limit set", if so he would charge me $129.00 plus tax to provide a service call to reset the limits. However he said if the motor needed to be replaced he would charge $2200.00 but could save me over $700.00 if I paid him $1500.00 cash.
I told him that would be fine, however I would like a receipt if I paid him cash. He then promptly yelled at me, treated me with complete unprofessionalism and said he would not give me a receipt, and now will charge me the $2.200.00 dollars. Needless to say his dealings with a good customer is horrible, unprofessional and he needs a lesson in anger management if he is going to deal with the public.
I would not recommend Rollup as their service is terrible.
I have dealt with a company called Dart Awnings in Freeport
(516) 544-****. Family owned, very professional, and honest.
- Unprofessional poor service

Verified ReviewerROLLUP AWNINGS, HOLBROOK, NY
Rollup Awnings in Holbrook NY came to "fix" my remote. They unplugged the unit and plugged it back in and it was "fixed".
It took 2 full minutes and they handed me a bill for $237. I called George Davis, the owner of Rollup Awnings in Holbrook NY to explain the situation. Not only did they not offer troubleshooting over the phone, they also never let me know that it would be such an outrageous expense for unplugging and plugging back in the unit (2 minutes).
George Davis screamed at me, used foul language, and told me that I just wasted $5000 because I can never use their service again. I AM SHOCKED that the owner of Rollup Awnings would treat a customer in such a foul manner.

Good Morning, I am sorry you were treated poorly. Your awning is from 1998, 24 years is a long time for a product to be out in the elements.
I know you inquired about having 1 solid panel instead of 3 but unfortunately that is not something we can do. If you are still interested in getting new fabric for your awning please give our office a call and we would be happy to help you.
