Who was just looking to buy a good reliable vehicle for my family. The man sold me a 2000 Mazda MPV just last sunday 02/26/12. His name is Monte he owns roadside rescue and repair. I saw his ad for a 2002 Mazda on craigslist and after several phone conversations and taking the van for a test drive, I bought that van for $3500. ($500 over my buget) But I bought it because it drove nice, looked nice and most importantly I bought it from a mechanic who had just replaced battery, brakes, waterpump ect.. so that it was a safe reliable vehicle. He stated the only reason he was getting rid of the van was because every 7 years he buys a newer vehicle for his family. And that if I had any problems what so ever I could take the van to him and he would personally fix it. So less than 48hours after owning the van I wake up to find a massive anti-freeze leak, which as it turns out is the least of my problems. The exhaust is not only rusted through, but it is actually leaking into the cab with my children and me, and needs double catalytic converters replaced, head gasket going out and an alignment. So far I have spent $600 in licensing and tabing and minor repairs. And now I would need to put in at least another $5000 to have up and running safely again ( And that was information from two separate mechanics) After the leaking anti-freeze I did contact Monte who stated he could get the parts at a 75% discount, which turned out to be a lie. Needless to say Monte is no help nor will he buy the van back. And now he will not even return my phone calls. So I at least want to make sure everyone knows exactly what kind of man and mechanic he really is.
