I bought a car from Road Ready about 7 or 8 years back, and the process was overall positive, so I brought my daughter there last week to take a look at a 2012 GMC truck with very low mileage. We decided against purchasing the truck after being misled by the "sales associate" and the General Manager about the financing terms.

Cut to the chase: my $1000 deposit is being held hostage now. Their business etiquette is atrocious. The 22-year old salesman called me about the car and greeted me with "Hey". I am 62 years old.

When I went to meet the Finance Manager, Amanda, I sat outside her office on a couch for 20 minutes listening to her yukking it up and giggling with some associate. The General Sales Manager was actually annoyed that I decided against buying the truck because he "spent hours on the phone with the bank trying to get the finance terms your daughter asked for". That's *** and even if he DID spend hours on the phone (he didn't) I guess he expects me to just say "Oh that's nice of you. Keep my $1000 for your trouble".

I've attached photos of the handwritten receipt for my deposit, the scribbled finance terms, and a text conversation between the "sales associate" and my daughter in which he misleads her about the financing terms.

Don't go to Road Ready. Don't get financing through ANY dealer.

Get financing yourself through a credit union or small local bank. Stay away from 520 MAIN STREET IN ANSONIA, CT.
