Today I added video and left message for their patient advocate to see the video on this site. I also included the letter I was sent. Seeing is believing.
I’m so upset I notice the spelling mistakes I made on update. As well as the statement Dr.
Zichal made saying “that’s, Barbaric we don’t do that here.” I need a lawyer.
Help? Anyone?
Update. Received letter from riverside stating their doctor told me there was no reason to tie my feet together when actually the doctor said “we don’t tie feet together here “.
Therefore the doctor either didn’t look at my feet or is lying. I have went to another facility and they ate running test providing results showing blunt force trama to my artery in my inner thigh among other things that were not there before in the exact same test riverside performed before angiogram. Do not go there they lie. They do not listen to their patients at all.
I asked the patient advocate to ask the doctor if he used the word Barbaric.
There is no way he could have told them and kept his job. Why would that word stick in my head for all these years.
Contacted by Riverside provided case number told that they would investigate and reach back out in a month. It’s been a month no further contact by Riverside.
Nothing has been resolved, 15 months and counting and I’m still in pain, no apology, no compensation, and no relief. I need to correct the spelling of the doctor’s name which is Dr.
Ernest Zichal,DO. Riverside has reached out providing a case/file number and stated they will get back to me in 30 days.
After having new test done I took the results and sent them to Virginia Board of Medicine Department of health professionals and I was sent an email saying this was being forwarded to the Enforcement Compliant Department. I see a new doctor in January and my anxiety gets worse the closer the appointment gets.
I have told my story to someone at riverside who put me with another doctor only this doctor couldn’t do the surgery. Then Riverside assisted with making appointment with Sentara vascular.
My fear is of repeating the procedure using industry standards not a individual patient plan for the procedure.
If it is to be repeated I’m not having that procedure. I can not go through the pain and I haven’t gotten any relief from the last procedure.
Zichal . I based my statement on the facts that I went through what I went through and still feel the pain in my legs, this was not my opinion. I am slooth footed. And my statement about Dr.Zichal having knowledge of the procedure is correct unfortunately for those like me Dr.Zichal is not experienced.
This is not an opinion it is fact. His job was to perform the angiogram not torture me, it was not my job to hold my feet in the uncomfortable position that was not natural to my body for Dr.Zichal to do his job. For God sakes I was not fully asleep. I am not alone with the issue of slooth footed.
Riverside should do a survey by asking those who have had the procedure before who are specifically slooth footed or pigeon toed before claiming this is an opinion. The nurses in that room heard me scream out in pain 3 times and did nothing. If they say they didnt then Id like to sit in their face while they try to lie to my face about it. Truthfully how does those corporate or medical board people actually know what is helpful to the patient or they dont Care and its only about the money.
Im not having another angiogram so Im going to lose my legs due to the fear and pain caused by Dr.Zichal. It is barbaric he said to aid me in holding my feet together.
Some can say this is a choice. Its no choice to be this afraid or in this much pain over a year later.

Preferred solution: An apology, a change in practice based on individual patient not industry standards, provide all the equipment at no charge that I will ever need after amputation of my legs are done.

First I need to correct the spelling of the Doctor’s name it is Dr. Ernest Zichal,DO.
Riverside reached out provided a case/file number assigned to my complaint. I tried making a complaint to VA medical Board not sure how successful the initial attempt was, however I have received emails from the medical board stating they are in receipt of my complaint. I have been to a new doctor at a different facility who has so far given me another test that actually shows something is not right and that it was done during a previous procedure. I’ve had the procedure done twice and had no problems or complaints with first one, my complaints are only with second procedure which again was performed by Dr.
Ernest Zichal,DO. Hoping the new doctor addresses my pain and fixes the problem.
I also hope Riverside and/or Dr. Ernest Zichal, DO will do right by me, take their ego out of patient care, and take better care of their future patients.
I have been contacted by a Riverside customer service representative who stated she would contact the practice of Dr. Zical.
I have not had an update since then. I am however looking into obtaining legal representation. I am no longer a patient of Dr. Zical.
Leaving his practice did not change my experience, opinion, nor the FACT that DR. Zical hurt me and I’ve been in pain for a constant and consistent 14 months after the angiogram.
Dr. Zical hasn’t apologized nor done anything to improve the painful situation he put me in by making it worse.
Dr.
Zical instead of accepting my request as a helpful one for both parties here instead said it was barbaric and ensured the previous doctor I saw would no longer be around. This was a case of one doctor’s experience and the lack of experience by the other doctor.
in Newport News, Virginia and was told to use my leg muscles to hold my legs in an uncomfortable position for the him to do his job. I screamed in pain three different times as this doctor went in my leg. I felt pain in my thigh, calf, and the bottom of my feet. Its been a year and I still feel the pain and discomfort from what this doctor did.
Upset me so much I cry almost everytime I discuss what happened. This doctor was inconsiderate, uncaring, and I left this office to return to previous doctor who is no longer where I used to go. This makes me sad. No other doctor was as considerate as the doctor that performed the first procedure.
The first time I had this same procedure done a year prior I felt great, was able to walk, lost almost 100 pounds. This time Ive gained 100+ pounds.
Dr. Zichal made things worse.
