Hip dysplasia and breach of contract

Our puppy was diagnosed with severe genetic hip dysplasia at only 7 months old. He can no longer put any weight on his rear leg and after seeking a second, ortho surgeons diagnosis, we were again told the only recourse was a full hip replacement surgery and that eventually his other hip would also need to be replaced. The quote for the surgery on one side was $8,000. We paid $2500 for a supposedly healthy puppy from a supposedly responsible breeder. After finally getting a response, Mr. Cantu at Rivercity Rottweilers would not take our puppy back per the contract, stating his current dogs were sick and he had no room. He also suggested we have to make the decision to put the puppy down. We have now had to threaten him with legal action in small claims court. DO NOT purchase a puppy from him! Even with the hip and elbow guarantee, they mean nothing if he is not willing to honor the contract in the supposedly rare cases in which they happen. He is NOT a RESPECTABLE or REPUTABLE breeder. There are plenty of other breeders you can choose from for the same price.

So was my female at 6 months. I reached out to the breeder and never got any responses back, as a matter of fact the email was coming back undeliverable.

They are greedy and only care about money not doing right by the dogs or the customers.

Trouble with a puppy

We are having health issues with a puppy from River City Rottweiler. We can not get Leroy Cantu to response to our emails. Does anyone have his phone number? Im at loss of what to do here. What good is a health guarantee and a contract if he does not respond to our question and emails.

Hopefully the Cantu’s will make good on their agreement to refund with another pup. (I know it stinks losing the one you waited for & for it to die.).

My pup pulled out of the parvovirus condition but it took me up at night for a week squirting pedialyte down her throat and cleaning her runny stools off of her and the many trips to my vet. Mr. Cantu sent me $250 for my trouble. (Which helped very little but was something.) If they won’t help you get another pup or refund your money...

Call the police on them. Make a report. It will get their attention.

That’s too much money for them NOT to do anything. Good Luck

I bought Asia and Athena in 2014 as Christmas gifts for my husband who has a love for Rotties. Mr. Cantu was professional, helpful and knowledgeable...as I had no idea what I was doing. As pups, they were healthy and well taken care of and they have grown into absolutely sweet and beautiful young ladies fit for show. Mr. Cantu asked that we send occasional pics. Our experience was pleasant and without regret. Thank you for the wonderful additions to our family.

River City Rottweilers - Rottweiler Puppies Review

I bought a female rottweiler puppy in March 2014. The very next day, she stopped eating and started throwing up clear mucus fluid and her stools were never firm. I googled the symptoms and comments on the internet indicated she wither had parasites or parvo. I took her to my vet within 24 hrs of purchasing the pup and she was diagnosed with the PARVO VIRUS. I contacted the breeder and Mr. Cantu exchanged emails with me for a time until I requested to be reimbursed for the expenses I accrued from purchasing a sick puppy from his kennels. (Then communications stopped.) I paid a lot of money for the puppy because I hoped to show her - possible breed her when she became older. He is not an ethical breeder as his website claims otherwise he would have made this situation right.... Buyer BEWARE!

I buy two dogs but it’s bad decision because Sr Cantu it’s bad person his recommend feed my dogs pesticide and my dogs have cancer don’t buy any dogs in this kennel I spent a lot the money for deworming my dogs

Report him to your local Humane Society.Parvo is very dangerous you need to do that so they can protect the other dogs there.Do it right away or puppies and dogs could die.
