Original review updated Jun 05, 2023

Hello my name is Andrew Maille. Im a 39 disabled veteran that tried to go to an event in Orlando Florida.

I go all the time to these tapings since TNA in the early 2000s. I worked at universal for many years for the company directly and for a few 3rd parties as well as Disney several jobs and international drive so I know the industry well. I live 4 miles literally on the same road from Universal Studios and walked to the event in the Orlando summer sun in June for 85 minutes. I was having issues with the app that I always buy my tickets off of on the walk so I emailed the organizer from the info given.

I get it was close to the event so I didn't get a return email. When I arrived I was turned away. I get the staff is universal and third party to the event so the first employee was helpful and sent me to next person than another. The last person made little tries to get me in the event and I wanted to pay.

I told him about the walk and the fact I'm disabled veteran and they cared little I asked if there was room in the handicapped section which Ive seen been used by some not disabled but fanboys with cameras snapping photos but they can't find a spot for me who on the books handicapped getting disability from the VA and SSDI. I've seen countless times they add a chair here and there for a celebrity or for someone who seems to be rich and even regular joes but again tried very little to help me and looked at me like I'm not disabled because I'm 39 I look 25 and my physical/mental limitations aren't front and center. I've never had this happen or anything else bad but this is disgusting and something that would happen at a wwe event. I don't support that company to the point I have the peacock app but I refuse to watch anything to make or have on archive.

Ive been with aew since the beginning and I feel sometimes at the universal event they care more about the one off visitors most of which care less about the sport than someone like me who has friends in the industry and support local wrestling in all forms. Now I'm a writer and have fans and friends in the thousands. I love telling people about the wrongs in life and when stuff like this happens. I haven't yet because I'm about the chain of command.

The even more sad part is I'm taking care of a terminal I'll father, a mother who beat cancer and now has cirrhosis even though she literally doesn't drink. Plus my best friend who has multiple sclerosis. These events are getaways for me even if a few hours and that was ripped out of my hands today. Feel free to contact me anytime with any questions or more info because I can elaborate even more.

The way the staff at universal Handled was mixed from helpful to we dont give a dam about u and why should they again they are third party. I want answers because they have way to much unused space at these events and why was I turned away. I would of payed to stand up.

Just plain depressing if you ask me

And my disabilities may not be in front of your face but that doesn't mean I don't have them. Some from military service and then some from 12 years in the theme park industry including mental and physical

Cons:
  • Be denied access with the knowledge they always have room

Preferred solution: Changes in protocols to to accommodate the actual fans of your company the people who only support your wrestling organization when there are other options here in Florida. so in honestly I don't know what you can give me to rectify this.

User's recommendation: Be wary of these events they don't care much about the little guy fans
