I purchased a washer and dryer from the Riley's appliance. The owner tried the dryer and for us and showed us nothing was wrong with it. He put a new motor in the washing machine and I picked the washer up on Monday. Very nice people

This place is a rip off!! buyers beware!!!
This is not a good place at all to do business with, bought a stove could not pick it up at the time, came back in a few days to pick it up and the owner said it wasn't ready,(Hmm) when I asked why not he stated the oven didn't work and he was still waiting on a part for it. I was not told at time of purchase that there was anything wrong with it. Owner was suppose to call me when he got it fixed. two weeks later I stopped in to see what was taking so long, now there is a element out on top of the stove, he has it ordered will be fixed the following week, I asked him if he was sure there was not a short in it or something else that was causing the elements to go out in it, he said no it will be alright, so I went ahead and sold my old stove thinking I was going to have one the coming week, came time to go get it, actually get a call from the owner asking if he could give me my money back on the stove because there is something else wrong with it and it would be too expensive to mess with fixing it, I told him I had already sold my stove thinking I was getting this one, let him talk me out of it, he then said that he had a fridge in that was like the one I was looking at, maybe I would want it and we could put the money towards that, should have learned my lesson on the stove, from time of purchase to him wanting to give me my money back was 4 weeks; I went in looked at the fridge, and l went ahead and bought it that Saturday, told him I would be in on the coming Monday to pick it up, if couldn't make it would call. Borrowed a friends truck to go pick it up on Monday afternoon, when I walked in the owner asked me what I was doing there, said I came in to pick up my fridge I had bought Saturday, he said it wasn't ready yet, he didn't have time to check it out, so he sold me a fridge he hadn't even checked out yet? Really! I don't live in town so it was not convenient for me to run in there anytime. He said he would deliver it at no charge, when did I want it, I said Friday, he would call me for directions. Friday came and gone no call, I finally called him the following week, he said that it was working fine when did I want it, I said last Friday(oh he forgot), told him I wanted it on the following Monday, it did come on Monday, BUT guess what!!! the freezer worked fine, but the fridge part didn't work, ARE YOU KIDDING ME, I called him the next day, he wanted me to give him a part number off of it and he would order it and have it fixed, I loaded the fridge up and took it back, I would not recommend this place to any one, he will take you for your money, he is not honest at all, buyers beware of this business.

Bought a refrigerator for $221.00 the fan is going out of it! Bought in December made several calls to them and they never showed up or complied with there warranty! That place needs to be *** down!! I've lost $100.00 in groceries due to this ***!

HAD the washer dryer combo for a month and it got one of my tops caught under the agitator, when I had someone remove the agitator for me to untangle the top it was discovered that a good portion of the bottom of the tub was rusted out and the stem that the agitator goes over was rusted out about 1/4 of the way up and had duct tape wrapped around the back. I did not have any luck in contacting Riley's wrong number or no answer. I could not go there as I had a knee injury and was not walking well. I'm 67 and live by myself. I finally got hold of them and then it took 2 weeks of repeated phone calls and promises to come out to look at it and never showing up, before he finally came out. I waited for him to come on 4 different occasions. Each time I was given a different excuse as to why. I was charged a $40 delivery an hook up fee and the dryer part was not hooked up because the man said the vent was to short, so we had to do that ourselves. Then they actually seemed to think I could bring the unit it for him to look at. He finally showed up and told me it needed a new tub and he would see if he could get one and replace it. That was 4 weeks ago. I have called checking to see when 1-2 times a week. Each time I was given a different excuse, not a reason, why he didn't have it. First I heard it was an odd size and hard to find, then they were busy and hadn't gotten around to it, then he had ordered one but didn't know when it would be here. I have had to wash things out by hand since I do not have another washer and dryer, and it's extremely hard on me. I feel like I was taken advantage of and lied too.

Sold Defective Stove
Don't go here and get ripped off! Riley's Appliance 3619 MESSANIE STREET St. Joseph Missouri 816-233-**** Sold My Mom a defective used stove he says they have a 30 day warranty. The stove my Mom bought worked except for the brollier it never did work. He wants to blame here for it not working and not give any money back or exchange it. He says the part it needs to fix it is not available. So he should do something about it he won't do anything at all about it. Turned in a complaint to the better bussness burreua but I guess they don't get involved much in these things.

After a few more weeks of being told he had the part ordered he finally said he would be out to install it on a Wed. I waited he didn't show up, I called, he had an excuse, he would be out Thursday.
I waited again, he didn't show, so the lady who works there called and said he had an emergency. He would be there Friday, then he called Friday morning to stay why didn't he just refund my money in full. I agreed, he said he would send his delivery guy out that afternoon to pick it up and give me a check. No one showed up, I went over there on Monday, and he was gone, but would be back later.
I called later and he said the delivery guy would be out there that day. Again I waited and he never showed, I called about 3 and he said the guy had a problem but would be there by four. He didn't show up by 4:30 so I called again. This time I told him I could just come over and pick up my check and the guy could pick up the machine tomorrow.
I needed to get the check in the bank so I could buy one I had found.He told me the guy had the check, I said then he could just write another and get that one back.He finally agreed. He would not refund the delivery fee and the tax which came to $80, so it was not a full refund. When the delivery guy came the next day he told me he had never had a check, and that they had not even called him till Monday afternoon.
He had also never had the tub that he had kept telling me he had, he found out it was more expensive then he wanted to pay. I am happy to just have this whole issue over with even though it cost me money and added a lot of stress to my life.
