Don't even get into a contract with these people! Sub par contractors, that are lazy and don't do good work.

They take more days off than they work! We were told our house would be done sept 15th, that came and went. Contract said oct 19th, that has came and gone, now they are saying 2nd week in November. They have an "extras sheet" that is for change orders.

They won't keep it updated until the end and then boom you owe a substantial amount of money. Instead of keeping it updated so you know where you are and can either stop adding extras or add more if you choose, they spring it on you last moment. Our extra sheet was at $15k for many months, in a matter of 11 days it doubled! And we hadn't added anything new in months!

In our initial visit we told them we wanted rounded corners instead of square throughout the house. When they did dry wall we had all square corners. We thought it was on our contract for rounded corners like we had told them, nope they didn't add it in. So we think we are charged for rounded corners and then well if you want those we have to add those in.

They don't pay attention to your request And then need more money to make your home like you want it. Seems to be more money more money more money!!!! You must stay on them and their contractors or things won't get done right. We were assured we had one of the best stair case contractors in the state.

The quality of work we got was junk! It was supposed to take 2-3 weeks to complete our stairs, it's been over 2 months and it still isn't complete!!!!! If we had to do it all over again we would without a doubt use another custom home builder!

We have recently learned that our bank will no longer be sending them business because of problems they have had with them. STAY AWAY FROM RICHARDSON HOMES UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND LOTS OF MONEY FOR POOR QUALITY WORK THAT TAKES FOREVER TO COMPLETE!!!!

Richardson Homes tells you one thing and will NOT keep they're word. They are not organized.

Will not get the job done in a satisfactory amount of time. I have spoken with couple of different people and none of them where happy with the job Richardson Homes done for them. I paid them a $1000 to make a copy of my drawing on their program. They claimed their people had to do the drawings to be able to give me an accurate quote.

I new better,mistake on my part. I decided not to use Richardson Homes to build my home. The proper thing to do would be finish the drawings or re-fund the $1000. Richardson Homes opinion was to keep the $1000 and not to complete the drawings.

I should have listen to everyone else opinion and STAY AWAY FROM RICHARDSON HOMES!

Zip board not installed per Mfg instructions. Did not tape the seams??? I know almost everyone has seen a new home going up with the Green Zip Board sheathing? We'll you also see the black tape covering the seams and edges, correct? Not our house. Good ole Dennis said our plans did not even call for Zip Board? Well ok but does that relieve him from improper installation? Nope, not in my mind and according to Mfg, no warranty.

Concrete cracking in area before the forms were removed! Of course it was fixed but now having concrete issues everywhere. Coincidence? Poor workmanship I think.

Our house is so *** drafty not even funny.

Got in the attic the other nite and see where bathroom exhaust fans and plumbing vents terminate in attic? WTF?

Just really trying to save another new home buyer / custom built "dream home" the *** we have been thru.

All I can say is do not let their family build your families home.

More to come as I am seeking Legal Council to see what our options may be. Should have done so in the beginning. My bed now and I must lay in it, however messy it may be.

The builder in this case gave us a substandard roof which is all wrinkled and bumpy but because the building standard allows for a deviation all they can do is say it is unattractive...but it still falls under the OK category. The builder could care less. We had to fight them for months to help us with our wood floors they installed..3 months after we moved in they all warped, curved up in the air...the floor was awful...well their solution, sand them down flat...not replace the bad wood..no just sand it down..these guys are horrible, besides that now we find out that one of our warranty is good because the builder quit paying for their policy...it was costing them too much do to all the claims...
