Misleading inaccurate information

AI Highlights
  • - I expect sales staff to educate me on features and give accurate info.
  • - I chose Sportage based on information I was told, which was inaccurate.

When car shopping, I expect the sales associates to educate me about a vehicle's features and equipment. I'm an extremely straightforward car shopper.

I usually arrive well prepared, including mentioning features I desire and features I can do without. I expect to receive accurate information, especially when I've inquired not once, but at least 20 times, if the said vehicle has all of the exact same safety features as the vehicle I'm trading in. I even called out the required features by their specific names. I received many affirmatives.

As a consumer, I can't possibly know all of the features on all of the new vehicles, between each model and trim level. I expect the sales associates to know this information and provide me with accurate answers. Furthermore, the staff presented me with two extremely compelling choices: a Kona Limited and a Sportage PHEV. They knew I loved both options so much that I was about to flip a coin to decide between the two as the monthly payment was identical.

They had every opportunity in the world to inform me that the Kona does have the features I wanted, but the Sportage does not. My choice would have been based on accurate details. Instead, because I was given inaccurate information, I went ahead with the Sportage.

Now, I'm stuck with a vehicle that doesn't have what I was told it would. I'm heartbroken and livid.

Pros:
  • Selection
Cons:
  • Inaccurate information

Preferred solution: Switch me out of this vehicle into the one that has adaptive cruise or refund my down payment due to severely misleading inaccurate information

User's recommendation: Do NOT trust that the sales team will give you accurate information

We paid in full, $21,499.99 from Ricart Automotive Group on 9/20/2023 where we were not told several things up front: the moon roof motor was not working even though it was found in the point inspection at their dealership, it was not disclosed. There was also a Road Worthy Warranty for 30 days or 1st 1,000 miles (this was not told to us).

The sales person was Josuel Salcedo and I notified him 9/22/2023 that I noticed my moon roof was not working. He said he would let the service department know to see what they could do since it was "as is." I didn't hear back.

On 10/5/23 (15 days from purchase), my husband was out of town for business with the vehicle and noted front under carriage loose sounding sway-bar? And...white/blue smoke coming out of the exhaust with burning oil smells. He took the vehicle to FORD ASE certified mechanic who said it was 2 possible high costing problems and to notify the dealership immediately.

Called 10/6/23 notifying again the non-working moon roof motor we never heard back from, the undercarriage noise & smoking exhaust/smell.

They said bring in Monday, 10/9, but never heard time. We called 10/9 to confirm time, but they had NO appt noted or problems noted and said they couldn't get us in until 10/12. We had 4k High Def video showing blueish white smoke. They said we had driven 300 miles over the 1,000 limit that they didn't tell us when purchasing.

This could have been avoided if they would not have errored when scheduling us the first time then not able to get us in. They were willing to review and see if they would cover anything. Zero charge: fixed moon roof motor, said they fixed the undercarriage, but couldn't reduplicate the smoking. Told us to let them know if it happened again.

Happened 4 more times, made another 4k video and sent video to their internal messaging & brought back 11/2/23. They said they would give us a loaner & never said we would need to pay for it, but day later said charge us $45/daily. They have said they can't do anything since cant reduplicate smoke or it's just normal to have this smoke. Said tightened sway-bar links again.

Told us next time to take the car to another dealer and not back to them, although the warranty is through Ricart...Also asked them to keep it to try to find the issue, we were told if we didn't pick up our car within 3 hours the would report their loaner stolen... Wow...

User's recommendation: Never ever use this company

NEVER BUY FROM RICART MEGAMALL

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Bought a used 2013 vehicle; the car wash scratched and chipped the hood.
  • - Timothy claimed chips may have existed and offered no repaint.

My experience with Ricart has been extremely terrible. Roughly two weeks ago I purchased a gently used 2013 vehicle that was in pristine condition.

As you may know, Ricart offers free car washes for purchasing your vehicle with them. I took advantage of what I thought to be a perk they offered but it ended up a disaster. The car wash put over 7 scratches on my car and has chipped the paint off my hood (my vehicle is black, leaving a white speckled look). I brought it to the attention of the supervisor on duty, Timothy, and he was extremely unsympathetic.

He told me he could have someone look at the scratches and see if he could have it buffed out but he doesn't have a timeframe as to when they could look at it or how long it would take to buff. As far as my hood and the side of my vehicle having chipped paint, he told me it easily could have been there prior to me purchasing the vehicle. Timothy educated me that they put a wax coating on the car so you could not see any chips/scratches at the time of purchase. I showed him a before picture of my car with no chips and he told me he couldn't tell from the picture so I took one on the spot and the chips were blatantly visible.

He said he is not willing to have my hood repainted or fixed. At most, he could attempt to have them wax my car again to mask the chips, in turn, never being able to get a car wash again.

I would NEVER purchase another vehicle from them and I advice you not to either. I am telling everyone I know about the rude, unhelpful, non empathetic and *** customer service they provide.
