  • - Bought Aug 2; compressor failed Aug 18.
  • - Installer charged $360; labour warranty only covers mistakes; Trane won't sanction dealership; unit not returnable.

I bought the new split system on August 2nd and the compressor went out on the 18th. The installer charged me $360, claiming that the labour warranty only came into effect if they made a mistake, and since it worked, the installation was good.

Trane thinks they should have honoured the labour warranty, but refuses to sanction the dealership.

Now, I have no labour warranty at all and I can't return the unit. Stay away from Reyes and Trane.
