AI Highlights
  • - Difficulty reaching Resound when hearing aids malfunction.
  • - Salesman is described as incompetent, with the company sending customers back to him.

Resound is a heartless predator of the hearing impaired, usually the elderly. When the hearing aids work, they are fine, but when they malfunction it is virtually impossible to reach the company.

Since the salesman I bought them from was incompetent, and a liar besides, I sought help from Resound. Their way out (if you are willing to listen to raucous screeching while on hold) is to refer you back to the salesman . .

. an endless loop of frustration.

My hearing are connected to my phone but I can never tell when I can hear the caller or the person I have called.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Calls have no sound.
  • - One hearing aid turns off during calls.
  • - I paid $6000 to communicate.
  • - They buzz and squeal.
  • - Warranty lasts until 2021.

When my phone rings in my ear and I try to answer the phone the person can hear me but there is zero sound on my end. When it does work on a call, during the call one hearing aid will go off and then it might come back on.

I answer and can only hear in one ear you will be talking and you lose the sound in that hearing aid. I have been to my provider, an audiologist, many times. They type a few things into their software and just look at me and nothing ever changes. The last time I went to the office she told me we could disconnect the phone from the hearing aid.

I explained the only reason I paid $6000.00 for a hearing aid was to communicate with people. I have asked on more than one occasion if the hearing aids can be replaced and on 2 occasions she gave me a number to call which is technician assistance. These hearing aids are still under warranty until 2021 but that is apparently a joke. The other problem which is many, it buzzes and squeals.

In crowds you can change the settings but to no avail.

It just stays the same. If I could afford to I would throw these things in the garbage can and go buy another brand.

Preferred solution: Create a product that works like all the PR that is put out, and yes I would like a full refund.

User's recommendation: Don’t buy a Reasound Hearing Aid. RUN!!!

I can understand your plight completely! Trying to read what you wrote with such poor grammar and idiotic sentence structure must be what it is like when you are trying to feel other people.

I felt the sense of frustration, confusion, and even betrayal at the fact the English language was being as badly mauled as it was. But, I digress. You are hard of hearing.

I will type louder in an effort for common sense and reason to reach you. Hope that helps!

Obviously the writer doesn’t possess English as his first language. You needn’t be so rude as to insult his English when he is clear enough to express his frustration with the product support. I am envious of someone who can speak another language no matter how misconstrued it is.

Horrible Customer Service

AI Highlights
  • - Hearing aid repaired, then stopped working after 14 months.
  • - They sent it to an ear doctor without telling me.
  • - They do not repair their own products.

They repaired a hearing aid. Fourteen months later it stopped working. I sent it directly back to them for repair.

Without notifying me they sent it to the ear Doctor without any effort to fix it.

Resound Hearing Aids are not good

AI Highlights
  • - Prefers Miracle Ear over Resound; Mr. Kelly at Miracle Ear in Fort Worth is great.
  • - Resound chirps with piano; it won’t cut background or loud voices.

I am totally not satisfied with Resound hearing aids. My Miracle Ear ones were much better.

If you are looking to get hearing aids go Miracle Ear. If I had a choich I would have gone back, but they were no longer a provider for the agency paying for the hearing aids.

I live in Fort Worth, Texas and Mr.Kelly at Miracle Ear is great! I think the doctor I was sent to for hearing test was part of the problem as well. The Resound hearing aids chirp when playong the piano, echo whistling, does not cut out background or if someone is extra loud talking no matter what setting you use.

Did you go back to your hearing aid professional and ask them to adjust the hearing aid?

Guest

my resound hearing aids are junk they. squeal like a pig I paid 2700.00 what a waste of money.

ReSound is one of the best hearing aid Manufacturers in the World, and everyone in the industry knows that.

It sounds as though you have a Dispenser problem, meaning someone not able to utilize the available software provided by the Manufacturer.

I would appreciate a call if you are still having a problem or would like an unbiased opinion from someone who has been dispensing all brands of hearing aids for the past 28 years.

Please call (800) 432-****

Good covered point, lots of people simply put something weired theories in front of public.

But it doesn’t work i think because know one sure how it will going to happen

It looks like just coping ideas which someone has already written. I found even on

popular blogs guest bloggers bring same theories which I already know. I observed they

just try to spice up their article without knowing what really audience want to read.

HEARING AIDS-TALE OF 2 SISTERS-RESOUND BTE'S CONTINUE TO SERVE THE LIVING- WASTE NOT, WANT NOT-FIND

AI Highlights
  • - Client used her deceased sister's Resound BTE aids.
  • - First office declined cross-use; Resound digital aids can be reprogrammed.

A Woman visited my Office in possession of Her Dead Sisters Behind-the-Ear RESOUND HEARING AIDS, the Earmolds still attached.

Mine was the SECOND HEARING AID OFFICE She had visited.

The First Office was owned by a Medical Doctors Group and evidently had a Policy of NOT PARTICIPATING in the Fitting on One Person's Hearing Aid to Another.

That is of course, their perogative. Anyone can establish any Policy, within the Law, that they want.

The Motive behind Such Policies can be very self-serving.

THERE IS NO REASON WHY ANY HEARING AID CAN'T BE USED BY SOMEBODY IT WASN'T MADE FOR. EVEN A CUSTOM MADE HEARING AID.

In this particular case, the RESOUND BTE HEARING AIDS were of the DIGITAL TYPE which provides and allows for changing all the settings within the AIDS

by reprogramming them.

All a Dispenser has to do, any Dispenser, is administer a Hearing Test to the Prospective User and then enter the results into a Computer Software Program provided by the Respective Manufacturer of the Hearing Aids.

No different procedure than that used for the Original User.

All of this of course, takes time, and supposedly Time is Money.

I do not charge for this service.

I only charge money when I spend money.

Obviously, I provide a lot of No-Charge Services.

I do not want any financial obstacles in providing my Services to the Hearing Impaired.

In this particular case, I was well aware that the surviving Sister lived in a HUD Residence located within walking distance of my Office.

Either the first office she visited would not get involved, or they wanted a large fee to provide the testing and fitting services.

She didn't say, and I didn't ask.

Why humiliate her.

The New User kept bragging that Her Sister had paid $3,000 for the set of RESOUND HEARING AIDS.

Regardless of the Surviving Sister's Financial Situation, to her, to me, and to anyone, with Common Sense, it is just logical for someone, anyone, to make use of Used Hearing Aids.

In this particular case, for whatever reason, one of the Hearing Aids doesn't work, but thats really not important, because as it turned out, the New User really only needed one hearing aid.

It is very unusual for there to be a great disparity in the Hearing Thresholds of one ear compared to the other, which was the situation present, and is sometimes indicative of a serious medical condition, and when I attempted to explain the potential problem and suggested she received Medical Attention, such as a CAT Scan, the Lady would have no part of it.

Unless One Ear has been subjected to something that the Opposite Ear hasn't, such as a trauma, disease, or loud sound, it IS NORMAL FOR BOTH EARS TO HEAR THE SAME OR HAVE HEARING THRESHOLDS WITHIN 5 OR 10 DBS.

IN ANY SUCH CASES, I ALWAYS REFER TO AN EAR SPECIALIST. AN OTOLOGIST OR ENT.

Another interesting aspect of this case, is that when I contacted the Manufacturer Resound, is obtain the Manufacturing Date, or at least their Sales Date on this set of Hearing Aids, as determined by the Assigned and Recorded Serial Numbers, as required by law, unless they have been worn away or deliberately removed, One Aid was sold several years after the other.

That means either the Deceased Sister purchased one at a time, or one was purchased later to perhaps replace a lost hearing aid.

This resulted in 1 aid being over 5 years old, and RESOUND charges a lot of money to repair such an aid.

The other aid was under 5 years old.

In any event, any Independent Hearing Aid Repair Lab, such as STARKEY LABS, will repair any Aid they can, regardless of Age, with no particular penalty of because of Age, or No Limit on the Warranty provided.

As is often the case, the Earmolds of the Deceased Sister appear to fit the Ears of the Surviving Sister and accordingly She may not even have to buy New Ear Molds.

In most cases, at least it has been my experience in over 24 years of practice, Earmolds are not interchangable from one un-related Person to Another.

In any event, hopefully, the Surviving Sister will get to use Her Deceased Sisters Hearing Aids, resulting in the Hearing Aids not being wasted, and She can think of Her Sister every times She puts them on.

Ironically, another long-time Client called yesterday to inform me of his Wife's Death, and after a brief conversation regarding that event, he informed me that really wasn't the primary reason he called.

He wanted to know if Her Custom Made Digital Hearing Aids could be remade for him.

I told him they could, quoted the Cost, and he is going to have the work done.

In his case, I will make a profit.

When I have to spend Money, I feel I am entitled to a Profit.

Besides that, his financial circumstances are a lot different than the Woman living in the HUD building.

And I am not a liberal or communist...just a mensch.
