The last managers were almost invisible and were never happy to be approached.

I don't think any chef could please 150 diners every day.

Resolved: Positive Experience Living Here

Updated by user Nov 26, 2023

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. Just accepted the issues and decided to live with it

Original review Oct 27, 2023
I am surprised by the many negative reviews. We have lived in one of the Colorado resorts for three months and are quite happy with the arrangement.

Yes, the price is high but commensurate with other independent lifestyle places we viewed. The only negative is the food. It appears that most food is pre-prepared coming from some grocery supply house. I would approximate that if you evaluated the 60 entrees per month (2 per meal) that 1/3 are basically inedible (tasteless, cold, etc), a third is basically edible and the final third is generally a home run.

One other concern in food is that is you are on a specialty diet (gluten free, fat free, etc) you have very few choices. There is a nice salad bar and most of the time other things like egg salad or cut up fruit both canned and fresh.

One final note on food; both lunch and dinner have two soup selections and generally at least one is very good. The kitchen will also prepare to order, hamburgers or personal pizzas,
The facility is five years old and well maintained and our apartment is very comfortable (2 bdrm, 2 bath) and there are laundry facilities and a full kitchen in the apartment.
All and all better than most others we have seen or heard of.

Lack of personnel training

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I turned in a notice to the concierge for Moving at end of March. I was told that they needed it in writing, so I put it on the rent check.

Well that person quit because of poor management and being blamed for things she wasn't trained to deal with. So, I didn't find a place to move, I had a vacation planned, when I returned the manager asked about my trip and commented on hearing a rumor I was moving. I told him I had told the concierge I was moving an asked her what I needed to do, He tells me my notice isn't a valid notification, because he didn't receive it in writing. Now I gave him a written notification, and he comes back the next day and says I need to redo the notification because I didn't sign it electronically, even after he told me what date he would accept and then brought the original notice for me to add that date.

Now for the 4th time telling and writing, he wants me to return to his office to do it on his computer. He denies my first notice to move because Concierge didn't know how I put in my moving notice now with him, I've had to go over the process 3 times.

This place is so poorly managed, it's amazing they keep the door open. Most employees quit within 2 to 3 months because of the manager's poor management and poor people skills.

Preferred solution: Apology

User's recommendation: Avoid living here, poor management, Food is below standards. You don't receive all the amenities you are promised, lots of times it's because of personnel turnover or amenity is out of service.

Poor Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This Retirement Community is poorly managed. The managers are lazy and treat employees awful.

They don't train employees but expect them to provide great service. Employee turnover is very high, nobody likes to get harassed by their bosses for 12.00 dollars an hour. The food is not even close to whats advertised, and the Chef runs off every Dining Room supervisor thats hired because he wants to promote his sister to that position.

The food is bad bec ause of people stealing large amounts of food to take to their homes to cook and eat. Don't

They BIG TIME Misrepresent what they are!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

It cost me over $12,000.00 to move and move into one of their, supposed, Over 65-Active Independent Facilities.

It was, while not claiming to be so, an Assisted Living Center...a goodly number of the residents, in walkers, wheelchairs, scooters, etc. Many unable to leave their room, all their meals brought to them.

Many also needing and having aides.

I had a real jerk in the unit next to me blasting his, so called, music...all freaking day.

Management taking no real action against him.

I lasted 2-1/2 months and could not wait to get out! I demanded a month's rent refund and was ignored

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I've had a few minor problems living here, There has been little done to resolve them. Now I have a big Problem, My A.C.

drain was stopped up. That made my apartment have 80% humidity, Which caused mold. This apartment, from what information I received from the AC repairman has had this problem for a good amount of time, for Conditions to get this bad. That means it wasn't inspected prior to renting, I've been here going on 6 months, Been sick the last 2 months, Headaches, eyes itching and blurry, night sweats, joint aches and other problems, Management seen the mold, and offered to send AC repairman to fix AC.

Well the AC is fixed but even after seeing the mold didn't do anything.

The housekeeper and the site maintenance man both checked the severity of mold problem, Nothing. I called and hired a company to inspect and awaiting on an estimate to remedy the mold.Be careful

I live in their tennessee resort.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

It is very poorly managed, The managers are either incompetent, or have their hands tied by the Corporation. They seldom resolve any issues, most complaints get very little effort to find a solution to the problem. There is mold everywhere.

MOLD in Apartment Without any Action to remedy problem

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My Apartment has mold, I think the problem existed before I rented this unit. It has gotten worse every day.

The Drain to the AC unit was clogged up. That caused the humidity to be 80%. Manager seen the mold and had maintenance contact AC repair company. I asked what was being done about the Mold , was told Management was aware of the problem.

I finally give up waiting for action, no other past issues were ever dealt with, so I called a Service Company who does mold removal. I was told I had mold and mildew , they would get an estimate out to me as soon as they could.

Low quality food

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

If you look on the website, freshly prepared, appetizing, cruise ship quality food is advertised. What is served is anything but.

Head chef will hear nothing negative however when he was away for a week the quality of meals went WAY up.

RLC does NOT deliver on their promise of fine dining unless tuna melts, baked beans and flavorless squash counts. Management and corporate have had no reply and have not attempted to rectify.

Caregivers

I have since talked to our manager and it was explained to me that since this community has rental apartments, the law states that they cannot discriminate against people moving in with a caregiver.

Cheated

Daniel Pointe (and I assume all RLCs) have a unique carpet renewal strategy. No matter how many years an apartment has been rented,, if you move out and leave a stain on the rug, you get to buy them a new rug all retail cost

Corporations all carry a reserve for replacement in their business accounting and deduct it as a business expense.

Apartment rugs are expected to last 5 years.

My apartment was used almost 4 years, but I bought them a new carpet at an upscale pice.Since the carpet had been used 4 of the expected 5 years, I should have only paid 20%. Move to Daniel Pointe get very high fees with high school cafeteria grade food.RIPOFF

Avoid Red Rock Pointe and Resort Lifestyle Communities

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Avoid Red Rock Pointe and Resort Lifestyle Communities

Red Rock Pointe is the Las Vegas location of Resort Lifestyle Communities. The company business model offers over-priced, under-sized apartments along with dining services for one monthly fee.

The company leans heavily upon the "Executive Chef" and the "Freedom Dining Program" to entice prospective renters.

This is necessary because otherwise, nobody will pay $5k/mo for a 759 square foot apartment. The promise made to senior citizens and their children is this: We are operating a luxury cruise ship on the ground. All you do is have fun, while our staff takes care of the rest.

The reality:

The "Executive Chef" has ZERO culinary training. The food is inedible.

The soups are created using Las Vegas tap water (you don't want to drink it). The building has significant structural issues (plumbing leaks everywhere), the staff is fluid. Meaning, they won't be there long. The average employee has less than 2 months tenure.

The community has had 4 managers in 1 year.

4 sales directors in 1 year. 4 Chefs in 1 year. 19 concierges in the 14 months since they opened. 4 Lifestyle Directors in 14 months.

3 Maintenance Directors in 14 months.

Starting to get the picture?

The residents are treated with disrespect (translate: they get yelled at) if they provide honest feedback to the managers. Additionally, if they contact Dan Hebenstreit, the corporate Director of Field Operations, he simply has them evicted in the hopes of "limiting the negativity". In other words, if you complain, they will make you homeless.

Management regularly attempts to make senior residents who complain appear to be unreasonable to their children (who often pay the bill).

STEER CLEAR OF RED ROCK POINT!!! RLC will take your money and NOT deliver on their promises.
