Poor bathroom remodel
Rekuta Contruction remodeled our bathroom. The dry wall got really screwed up. Mud was globbed on forcing tile to be out of line, and he primed the walls while mud was wet. Our walls are bubbling. They may never be right without taking it back down to the dry wall. Even I can do a better job.
The job was done in backwards sequence. Moldings were mounted before dry wall was sanded or close to being done.
The job was promised in 5-6 days, after 2.5 weeks we finally got where we can fix his screw ups and have a tub that holds water.
I have never had checks clear my bank as fast as the 3 given to Robert Rekuta.
As far as the project staying on track for quoted prices, that too was way out of line. No wonder he ran to the bank for the final payment. When I came home and found the walls still screwed up, I was very unhappy.

I would not rehire Rob. He did out basement and did a decent job for a decent price.
However, he does not stand behind his work.
I have tried to get him back out for months for something that is under warranty. He says he will come then just does not show.
Very dissapointing.
Kyle G had to read his contract......... The bath fan in question was not covered under warranty.
After a number of his online reviews he sent me an email sating that he now sees where he was off base. :cry
Have a good day.........some people just like to cry before reading/knowing the facts
Well, that is a complete lie. Rob was profane and yelled at me on the phone while giving 1,000 excuses as to why he had not contacted me for months. I decided it was not worth it and I did not want him in my house.
:cry He did our basement and it leaks. He refuses to fix the problem. I now have to hire a new contractor to fix his problems.25K later and I still don't have a usable basement.
Becky Trout is someone that I have never worked for.
Robert Rekuta of Rekuta Construction Services remodeled our bathroom. First of all,he did far from a good job. He seemed like he would be professional by the way he presented his estimate on the cost. He said that our job would be no more than $5,000.
Well, he was way off. We bought the majority of materials plus did some of the labor and we still ended paying him the price that he qouted us in the first place. That put him over his estimate by roughly 25%.
Then to top it off we have grout that is cracking, uneven tiles, poor drywall quality, and a screw that was glued into a light switch. When Robert was questioned about this, he told me that I was nothing but " BUSH-LEAGUE HORSE-BLEEP. Now is that any way to talk to a customer who you just overcharged for a underpar job?
Then if that was not bad enough, he damaged furniture in our bedroom and steps on our deck and would not even acknowledge that he did or would make it right. I asked him to turn it into his insurance, that was until I noticed that he gave us an expired ins. certificate. I cannot believe that he would say he is insured when he is not. That is FRAUD.
The only recommendation that I can give, is make sure that he is insured before You consider hiring Rekuta Services for a job that You care about.
Well, lets respond to this. As is always the case............there are two sides to any story.
Rosie and Nicky Z are alittle confused.
I was told by both of them throughout the job that how pleased they were with my "professional way of doing things"
How great the job was going and how the quality was high.
AS far as the comment about drywall mud "gobbed on" Gobbed is a subjective term. I did what needed to be done to give them the best job possible.
Mud work was complete at least 3 days prior to prime coat. I don't know where the comment comes from.
The job was not done out of sequence. It was done as I do every other job. Anyone in the buisness or knows any about a remodel project will state that a ding may occur and touched up at the end.
Lets talk timing. The contract is in terms of buisness days. Did it run longer than stated? yes it did. Two reason will account for this. 1) additional work/ upgrades 2) the amount of time they spent under my feet spilling personal information against the other, preventing me from doing my job..
Checks clear. That's what they do. I deposit them and the bank does the rest.
Over budget? A little. 2.1% over original estimate. Again, see upgrades and additional work. She stated the following........" I told him it would be between $6000.00 and $6600.00"
Final bill was $6400.00
The day I picked up final payment I was again told of the high quality and professional manner in the way things were done. He shook my hand and stated such. I was asked 2 days prior to give them numbers on a kitchen counter/backsplash as well as kitchen flooring. If the job was so sub standard, why would you even ask?
I have been in buisness for a long time. I have a great track record. I will put it up against anyone. I was told that sooner or later that I would run into something like this.........................moving on
That's a bit hard to believe as I had my entire kitchen and bathroom done by Rekuta Construction and it was beautiful. We were very impressed with the craftsmenship and professionalism.
Because of that, we referred him to many of our friends who were also just as plesed. So for those of you reading this, I'd recommend you work with him.
