RCC doesnt pay their sub contractors

AI Highlights
  • - Atlanta, GA subcontractor worked with RCC on two mall stores.
  • - Final payments delayed; only partial payments offered.
  • - Do not hire RCC to avoid scams.

We are a very reputable sub contractor based out of Atlanta, GA and have been in business for 10 years. We were contacted by RCC to help them out of a jamb on 2 stores they were building in a prestigious mall here in Atlanta and where RCC has done other work.

It appeared that RCC was reputable and large enough where we would not have any problems with payments due to us at the end of the project so we decided to accept them as a new client. Almost immediately we started to hear from other contractors we know in the business telling us "good luck on getting your final payments" but we brushed off the remarks as we didn't want to contribute to any rumors.

Sure enough here we are as the projects are completed along with our punch list and we are being given the run around with offers of 50% payment on certain items and no payments on other task completed. Its time to stop hiring this company and if your a sub contractor...DO NOT GET SCAMMED BY THESE GUYS

  • Non payments

RCC Construction (Deerfield)

AI Highlights
  • - 300% markup with delays and excuses.
  • - Three-month punchlist with dust and debris at openings, and poor PMs/superintendents communication.

Horrible - rip off artists. 300% markup, and nothing but excuses why they were late with my store. Avoid them all costs. They put on a good show with marketing but that's where it ends. I found out they pay off the mall managers to get on the recommended lists.

Follow up to complete the punchlist took three months and disturbed my sales staff. We opened early almost every morning and they left dust and debris for us to clean up right before the mall opened.

The project managers and field superintendents don't communicate. Which is funny because the super has a laptop which on two occasions when I visited the site he was on a *** website.
