Bogus Competency with blocking St John Knits

I sent in my St. John Knit Jacket to be blocked up 1 size. When I received it, I measured it to find out that it was blocked up 1/2 size and in some places, not at all (even though I requested it). I called and asked what happened and why my jacket was not blocked to my specifications. The woman I talked to at Rave said that they couldn't help it if the jacket was not to my specifications, they did the best they could do. No apology, no refund, just an attitude from her. At $100 for blocking and shipping, I expected more. St. John Knits can be blocked up 1 or 2 sizes. Beware of Rave Fabricare's competency with St. John Knits!!

Rave fabricare/gucci

I sent in a very large, very expensive handbag in to get cleaned. Gucci, Scottsdale, AZ, actually recommended this cleaner to me. I made sure I checked the cleaners out online first and also called directly to get more information from the store owner himself, Stu. They at first quoted me a week to two at the most, a MONTH later and NO bag. RIDICULOUS. If they would have told me from the beginning it was a month wait, I would have been ok with that. Each time I called to check in, one excuse after the other, we have been out sick, we will call you back, etc etc. BEWARE before sending your $1,000+ purses to this "cleaners"

This company and owner just got sued on TV for over $3000 by a customer who had to take them to court twice. That should tell you something like "DON'T USE THIS COMPANY"

Thanks for the comment, but I think the more relevant question is whether they did a good job of cleaning your bag. I don't think that spending an extra couple of weeks to clean it is really that egregious.

THIS IS OUR RESPONSE TO THE “REVIEW” BY SHELLE TURF BELOW

On August 16, 2012, Shelle Turf of Scottsdale, Arizona brought in a 6 year old, soiled, oil stained, scratched, scuffed, torn, ink stained, musty Louis Vuitton brown monogrammed coated canvas Battignoles Horizontal Tote with natural cowhide leather trim.

She asked us to clean the inside and outside of the tote (to the extent that the coated canvas, leather trim and lining can be cleaned) and to repair a small tear in the brown monogrammed coated canvas (to the extent that a tear in a coated canvas handbag can be repaired).

In at least 6 different on-line reviews (Yelp, Google, City Search, Yellow Pages, Pissed Consumer and Merchant Circle), Shelle Turf claims that RAVE FabriCARE transformed her excellent/good (I assume) tote to “horrible”, “crappy”, “awful” “bad” or “wrecked” condition (the adjective used varies by review).

You can evaluate the veracity of Shelle Turf’s claim for yourself by viewing 28 “before” and 16" after photos of this tote. Looking, with hindsight, at her words and actions and the specific sequence thereof, it’s patently clear to any reasonable, rational observer that Shelle Turf had one objective when she dropped off her tote for cleaning: if RAVE FabriCARE could not restore her tote (and, particularly, the leather trim) to “like-new” condition, Shelle Turf was going to claim that we had “damaged” her tote, and then, using a variety of actions including negative on-line reviews, attempt to coerce us into paying for the $900 cost of replacing the leather trim on her 6 year old tote.

In order to boost the chances that we would quickly succumb to her demands, Shelle Turf took the following actions:

1. She refused to pay for the cleaning.

2. She sued RAVE FabriCARE in Small Claims Court for over $1,000 – the price she alleges that she could sell the tote for on the open market if the leather was in excellent condition, if there was no half inch long tear in the outer canvas, if there were no ink stains on the lining, if it didn’t have a musty smell – even though identical totes (in far better condition than Shelle Turf’s tote was in when she brought it in for cleaning) are widely available on the internet in the $350 to $550 price range.

3. She filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau demanding that we pay $900 to have all the leather replaced by the manufacturer.

4. She filed a complaint with Arizona’s Attorney General demanding that the AG take legal action to compel us to pay $900 to have all the leather replaced by the manufacturer.

5. She made anonymous personal calls and mailed anonymous letters to managers of many of our high-end retail store clients making false allegations that numerous complaints had been filed AGAINST us over our 24 year history (false allegations based on her own inability to understand the difference between a plaintiff and a defendant), and imploring these stores “to find a new place” to whom they should refer their clients.

6. Contacted or threatened to contact major TV stations and newspapers in the Phoenix metro area to “do a segment” on us.

7. Posted at least 6 negative “reviews” on on-line review sites as part of her anti-RAVE FabriCARE publicity campaign.

Because on-line review sites typically limit businesses to a 5000 character response, it’s not possible to present all the facts for your consideration.

So, before you place ANY credence in Shelle Turf’s “reviews”, I urge you to read our expanded response. That response is organized as follows:

Oh my gosh, I am in process of small claims with this little man, Stu. I brought in an LV bag to be repaired and cleaned.

I went back 2 weeks later to pick up as stated on receipt to be ready. Stu told me that it was in some stage of getting their fumes out. Told me to come back in a week. Went back in a week and Stu saw me walking in and flew out as quickly as possible to avoid me.

Girl told me that bag not ready and showed me it and I freaked out. Looked worse than brought it in and slit was not repaired. He even told me that in order to repair would have to un stitch the stitching inside the bag and put a patch on slit and glue it. Girl tells me the glue is on order.

BS. I called him and freaked out and he told me he knew nothing about ANY repair and it clearly states repair slit on receipt. He lied several times to me. He still has bag and would only give it to me if I signed paper saying I was ok with it and he was NOT going to charge me the 92 bucks.

Said no way, why would I pay for purse he wrecked.

So I will be taking him to small claims court. Check out court sites online to see ALL the complaints.
