Dont use railbookers

My wife and I recently used Railbookers to book a vacation in western Canada. First thing to mention is that you dont see the trip itinerary under after you have paid your money.

We were first booked in a Calgary hotel near the airport. The next day we were to get on a shuttle to Banff. The shuttle picked up at 6 downtown hotels, but not ours. When I contacted Railbookers I was told that we would have to incur the charges to get to the pickup location.

We were booked 20 minutes outside the city so we had to pay for transportation. I had made two calls and sent an email to Railbookers. Nothing came of the calls and the email was ignored. When we arrived in Banff, we were shuttled to a lodge, a 20 minute walk to town.

Luckily my wife and I do not have any mobility issues so we were to walk down into town. We figured out the transit system, and were able to use that to return to the lodge, (all uphill). After two days in Banff, we were shuttled to Lake Louise. There was a trip scheduled in my updated itinerary for Jasper.

When I contacted the shuttle company I was advised that it had been cancelled due to the recent forest fires in the area. I contacted Railbookers to inquire they said, oh yeh it was cancelled and they were refunding my money for that excursion. Thats for letting me know Railbookers. I scheduled our own sightseeing tour for that day.

Our journey continued on the Rocky Mountaineer with no issues. When we arrived in Vancouver, Railbookers had booked us a 48 hour Hop On Hop Off tour. To redeem the voucher we had a 20 minute walk to the waterfront, again people with mobility issues would have to pay their way there. We were only able to use one day, as Railbookers had us booked on an excursion the following day.

They certainly dont might wasting money when its not theirs. Railbookers has a long way to go before they come close to being mediocre. Their call centre people seem to be working from home and have no authority or no ambition to correct issues. The people that book excursions need a take a hard look at what theyre doing.

A dedicated person to your trip is needed before and during your trip to address problems that will occur. My advice is to book our own hotels and excursions and you will have control of your vacation.

  • - No updates on the train cancellation; we missed a day in Dublin.
  • - Dublin City Pass cost 200 EUR and Railbookers is expensive with added tours.

No updates provided on train cancellation which made us miss one of our only two days in Dublin. We requested assistance and they are really sorry but they cant help us.

Charged us $200 EU for a Dublin City pass which is WAY overpriced.

We are traveling with Railbookers for two weeks. Very expensive and they added all kinds of useless tours and charges!!!

DONT book with Railbookers if you want a nice trip!!!
