Bogus pool inspection

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Daniel with R & R Everclear Pools did a pool inspection prior to our purchasing a house. He pointed out a few things that needed fixing, but said the pool was in good shape overall.

Our first clue to a problem should have been that the first inspection report we received did not include an important repair that need to be made (the spa heater had been removed and not replaced as the current homeowner had represented). It has now been 2-1/2 months since we closed on the house and we haven't been able to use the pool because it is constantly green and dirty even after shocking it and constantly checking the chemicals. We have been pool owners for more than 19 years and have always taken care of our own pools without having issues so I am confident that the problem is not with us. The pool pump does not seem to be moving water at all, the filters do not appear to work even after cleaning them and checking for tears, etc., and the in-floor cleaning system sucks nothing off of the floor of the pool.

We called the owner of the company (Scott) to give him a chance to make it right and he demanded payment for his service before he would even come out to double-check the work of his employee. We did not expect him to repair the pool free of charge, but we at least expected him to stand behind the pool inspection report his employee generated and we thought he might care that we paid his company $75 for an inspection and were so obviously misled.

It is clearly too late for us to ask the previous homeowners to fix the problems now because we have already closed on the house. So, unfortunately, we are stuck with the potential repairs and/or replacement of the pool system.
