My daughter is scheduled to undergo open heart surgery next week. Her doctor has ordered lab work every other day until the operation.
We checked at least 10 sites in a radius to our home, and no appointments were available for at least 2 weeks. Today, she presented to a site, as a walk in, and waited 3 hours and was berated for being dehydrated and requiring 2 venipuncture.
The second customer service representative very kindly helped me locate open appointments for her serial testing in the next week. The first simply said there was nothing she could do.
This is unethical care. Some mechanism to assist patients with urgent needs should be available.
Speaking with a staff member was impossible. Your business practice is shameful.
I am a health care provider and will not be recommending your services to my patients going forward.

Very unfriendly staff at Quest Diagnostic at Nanuet, NY. Do not go there..
I was today at Nanuet ,NY location trying to drop off urine collection can. Nobody available to help because you cannot reach live staff, have to make self-check in computer, and should stay in walk-in line.
Finally, after staying long line, I was invited in. The person was very rude and very unprofessional, saying that I am not in system {even I am there and have account and file), and that I did not understand instruction how to drop off, and refused to take collection can without prescription. It was first time so bad treatment in medical facility for me. Then I drove to Montvale, NJ and spent literally 1 minute to drop off the collection can.
The very friendly person told me that I am in the system and do not need any prescription because all info already there, plus info also on the can's label . I am glad that finally I could make it and have contact with highly professional personal in Quest.

Took 2 reasonably intelligent people 2 hours to register on Quests app. The most complicated dysfunctional technology u can find anywhere

totally disappointing experience dealing with quest.
Went to quest patient center with order from my doctor. The order has 10-15 different tests and some of them were time sensitive like CBC, CMP etc and really quick to analyze and report.
However, it has been 3-4 days and still shows pending results. I understand it can take few days - weeks to complete all the tests on the order.
I was told results would be available as soon as it is getting completed. So, i would expect time sensitive ones like CBC, CMP would be start showing up.
Total disgrace and utterly irresponsible service by quest

Billing problems, errors on testing
I have to have labwork done regularly...about half the time Quest gets the billing wrong. Then while I am trying to resolve it, they send the bill to collections.
Twice I've had a major fit, provided copious records from my insurance company showing I should have $0.00 patient responsibility...after which Quest begrudgingly corrected their records and supposedly withdrew my account from collections. (still have to confirm that no negative impact has occured). In addition to billing errors, they have failed to run the complete list of tests my doctor ordered, necessitating another visit to the lab. The folks in my local Quest lab are generally sour and unpleasant.
I'm sure they catch a lot of heat from unhappy customers. I wish my employer would contract with a different lab...because Quest is THE WORST!!!
