Tire Rotation

The one in Diamond Bar Blvd. in Diamond Bar next to Kmart is one of the worst. I had a tire rotation and the tires weren't even screwed on tightly. I can unscrew them with my bare hands. I could have gotten into a big accident. Plus the tires they use are no name brands. The mechanic didn't care, didn't apologize, and unwillingly took care of the problem after the manager nicely told him. Looks like the manager was scared of the mechanic, who was giving the manager an attitude and was not serious about fixing the problem but instead looked angry. Why should the consumer have to put up with this ***. Who deserves that kind of service. I should have gotten some money back and a more sincere apology, instead to them it seems like its no big deal. The mechanic should have been reprimanded.

Incompetent mechanics and liars, big time

Had them do some work involving my shocks. Even gave them written instructions on what to do. They didnt follow the step by step instructions and managed to completely wreck my suspension. Had it fixed by a dealer, and PURRFECT promised to reimburse me. After 2 months of talking to some "manager" (who apparently kept getting transferred to various stores), they finally had the gall to tell me they never worked on my shocks because the reciept said "misc labor". Thier corporate office is an exercise in futility. They pulled the "Im sorry, I cant hear you, are you there?" then hang up trick to not deal with irate customers. They are liars who hire incompetent mechanics.

Purrfect Auto Fontana/Ontario Horrible

i took my car in for a check up. and they told me i needed a whole new transmission. so i left the car there with the understanding it would be in the shop i dropped it off at. only to find a week later it was in ontario and had not even been worked on. during this time they had lent me a car that stalled out on the freeway. everytime i called they said it would be ready the next day. next day turned in to almost 2 weeks. when i got the car. the man had the nerve to ask for a tip. and to top it off. there was a head pillow in the back seat and ***!!! under my seat. and when i called the managers at both stores Brian from fontana seemed to pass the blame on ontario, and William from ontario laughed. just aweful. dont waste your money here. The car was at 87926 when i dropped it off and when i picked it up 88338. my advice do not go to these places.

Sounds like the mechanics drove around in your car and lived in it too. You should charge them rent. :grin :grin :grin

Guest

They buy used transmissions at junkyards and pickapart places. If the first one is not good, they swap it out.

If the second one still don't work right, they get a third one. They only cost like 300-500 dollars. This should explain your wait. I used to be a driver for one of the yards, and have done lots of business with purrfects.

That's how they make their money. sorry bro, sounds like to got taken and now you have a junkyard tranny with some shady warranty probably.

Their mechanic broke my air filter box and lied about it!

While I was at Purrfect Auto Service one of their employees removed my air filter, after I told them that I did not want them to replace it another employee attempted to put the air filter back in. During the process of replacing the air filter he removed a large portion of the air duct system. He was not being very gentle with this and broke part of the air duct. I was watching the entire process through the window from the waiting room. The employee placed the portion of the air duct that he broke onto a computer station and left it there. When he proceeded to close the hood without replacing the broken portion I intervened and asked if he was planning on replacing the part. He claimed that he had merely forgotten to replace it. He tried to tell me that "it just came off when I was replacing the air filter" and that it was already broken when I came in. When I spoke with the manager he could only tell me that he was "baking his guys" and there was nothing he could do about it. All I know is that the part was securely in place when I came in and it was comepletely broken off when I left.

They always find something else wrong -beware!!!

Took my vehicle to the PURRfect auto service on Maryland pkwy. Beware they act all honest at first but ya just go in for an oil change and end up with a 200.00 bill they will find something else wrong, if they don't, they will make it happen -no joke- specially when you take it somewhere else and get it fixed the right and it doesn't take two or three times, and the manager guy is very rude and slick with words beware!!! Avoid all PURRfects at any cost. All the complaints on here are true, read for yourself.

Everything in this post is true. This place is still up to the old PURR-fect trix.

Don't go there, you will regret it. Also the one on sunset and eastern are big time ripoffs too.

your boyfriend's probably 2 inches too short...maybe I can help you out...

Last time I went to purrfect AS they told me my air filter was clogged up. I told them to pop in a new one and they installed the wrong air filter.

My boyfriend checked it out and said it was like 2 inches too short.

WTF? :cry

Very poor quality, nowhere near purrfect

We took our 2004 Hyundai Sonata to Purrfect Auto Service for a tune up and timing belt replacement on 7/22/2009. The vehicle was running fine prior to this. The total cost was $876. Within a few days, we started hearing loud noises coming from the engine immediately after startup. We returned the car to Purrfect several times to have this noise investigated. At one point, we left the car there overnight. The mechanics could not find the cause of the noise. In March of 2010, the noise returned even louder while driving to work. The vehicle was returned to Purrfect Auto immediately. An inspection revealed that the bolt holding the auto tensioner had sheared off. The auto tensioner, bolt and timing belt were replaced. The total cost of this repair was $340. In August of 2010, the same noise returned while driving from work. The car was towed to Hyundai dealer. Mechanic inspecting the car found that the auto tensioner bolt had sheared off. We explained the earlier repairs. The mechanic stated that in 25 years of working with Hyundai, he had never seen one of these bolts shear off once, let alone twice. The mechanic suspected that improper torque had been used to tighten the bolt. The timing belt, auto tensioner and water pump needed replaced, estimated cost $1085. Purrfect did offer to honor the warranty and replace the parts at another location. However, we do not believe that their mechanics are completely competent in this area of repair and we simply cannot afford to have the car out of service every six months. We would like for Purrfect Auto to do the right thing and refund our money.

The best thing you can do is post a bunch of complaints about this company on every website you can think of. Their reputation is so bad, they're gonna be out of bizness by the end of 2011.

Getting a refund is hard coz the owner hides his assets thru mistresses and friends. 8)

Purrfect Auto LV (Washington/Buffalo) are Crooks!

My senior mother was clearly charged an obvious overcharge to her car, when I asked about the charges, I was told to get the 'F@#K out!. I researched on the internet after nothing was done to take care of this, the manager himself 'Freddie' using the obscenities. Numerous complaints have been filed and BBB gave them an 'F. They are accused of an 'underground' mechanics cover up shop charging for parts and service never done at outrageous prices, and are have many news and court issues. DO NOT EVER GO HERE, PLEASE! They are still under massive investigation and owe fines. I have Never had an experience like this.

Purrfect Auto in West Covina has always been a total ripoff. I took my car there a couple of times back in the days and they always tried to tell me how everything was wrong with my car.

They have gone out of business a bunch of times and always reopen with new ownership.

I'm so tired of their *** fliers: "under new managment blah, blah, blah, blah..... :(

Yeah right,same crooks...same ripoff

Wow, you were ripped off by PURRfect auto headquarters. Did you know that the whole controlling family reside in West Covina?

Shafik Hirji and his corrupt operation is all based out of here. Good luck in court, they spend millions each year on attorneys, that's what they do for a living.

File a complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repairs (Department of Consumer Affairs)if anyone believes there were ripped off.

Purrfect Auto couldn't diagnose my car, I'm done with them

On May 23 I took my car to Purrfect Auto Service, because it made a horrible sound it shook every time it drove. So i replaced the battery my self then brought it in. They scaned it and it took about 2hrs and in the end I was told it just needed a flex pipe, but the car needed to stay over night. The next day the flex was put it but the car still wouldnt run for long then 15 mins so I was told this was because it needed a bigger spark to run so i need a new distributer . I decided to buy a used one. Well it after a week it came in because it was ordered my mail, but the wait was for nothing cause it was a bad part.So they ordered another used one but two weeks went by and the part never came to the shop. The guy said order a new part because the used ones have to be found in junks yards but new ones are from the company so it should come to the show faster. So I told him.....order a new one.About 4 days later it came in....the car started but I was told it needed to be tested again for a day.The next day I was told when they started the car the timing belt popped but they would replace it for free but the guy whos does it wasnt there and he would be back in four days. Well when the day came I was told the belt was fixed but by the belt popoing it messed up the head so the car wasnt working at all.So i needed to replace the head. The guy said the part should come within 3 days but it was take a full day to put it in and then some time to test it again. So when the day came I was told the car was ready! I noticed that the check engine light was on so i asked why this was. They said it was nothing just that the car may take a few turns of the key to get it started but it was nothing to worry about. It ran fine for about 3 weeks but it make a scratchy noise everytime would hit the brakes. Then one day on the highway It made a sound that sounded like a loud fan and it started shakjing and smoking. Then it leaked oil all over and i had to get it towed. So now it doesnt start. So only after 3 and a half weeks the car broke down.I had taken it there and all it needed was a flex and a disturber but because they didnt test it fully I had to replace the head.It took over a month to fix and it wasnt tested fully so not even a month after having it, its worst then ever! its doesnt start at all now! I went back to Purrfect and told them what happened they acted shooked and said try adding oil and to bring it back if that doesnt work. I never did I am going to take it some where else. What recourse do I have?

This place has just screwed me out of $1900 dollars

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PURRFECT AUTO Repair!!! This place has just screwed me out of $1900 dollars and put a junk motor in my car that doesn't even run right!!! They also must have opened the lines on my A/C or something, so now that doesn't work either. The clutch does not even kick on anymore, and I had perfectly cold R12 A/C before!!! GRRRRRR!!! The guy held my car ransom and would not even let me test drive it to see if it was running right before paying him. All the bad reviews you find about them are 100% true, and there is definitely a reason they have an F rating in the Better Business Bureau. He simply does not care. He even demanded that I pay with a cashiers check or money order, so I could not dispute the charges with Visa. As soon as he started asking for that, I knew something was going to be wrong. I am going to do everything in my power to make this scam artist refund my money or close them down!!! It's guys like this who give mechanics a bad reputation!!! He was supposed to swap all the best parts from my engine over to the used motor he bought for it. I specifically noted that the turbo would need to be swapped from my engine to the other motor, because I knew it was fine, and I have no idea what a junk yard motor comes with. In that situation, anyone would swap turbos. The turbo does not work at all, and the entire motor will have to be removed again to even change that. I don't even want the piece of junk motor in it at all. This is a beautiful classic car, and he just ruined it!!! I even told him how particular I am about my car and he lied and acted like it would all be done as we discussed. I made it very clear what was to be done, and he made it seem like he was going to do it, but his tone changed completely, once he had my car and held it for ransom. He turned into the ah-ole from *** then. Trust me. You absolutely do not want the stress and hassles I just went through. Now, it's a nightmare. I'm going to have to sue them and try to get my money back. This guy is a scam artist!!! You will not be happy with anything he does. Avoid that chop shop like the plague!!! You will get ripped off if you hire this ah-ole!!! Read the bad reviews for yourself. I'll bet the few good ones were fakes posted by him or someone he knows. There are more bad reviews than good, for sure.

Engine blew up one week after timing belt job

Just wanted to comment on your thread as my partner and I have just had the same experience with Purrfect Auto on Valle Verde. To try and tell a long story short, the mechanic did over $500 more work then we asked (and we specifically told him NOT to do it, it was only the a/c), then when we questioned him as to why he went ahead and did it without our consent, he abused us and threaten us saying, 'you don't want to p**s me off'. He threatened not to give us our car back and was completely rude and unprofessional towards us! He had our car for two whole days just to do the timing belt and service, and could never tell us when the car would be ready and told us that the more we called asking the longer he would take doing it. When we finally got the car back (after we just agreed to pay for the a/c as we were sick of getting yelled at, and saw that he was a bomb waiting to explode), I took it for a drive and noticed that there was a strange ticking sound that was not there before (our car was in perfect nic, always serviced etc), so I took it back to him straight away. He assured me that it was nothing, but I said that I would bring it back asap as I paid $1200 and was not happy with it making this sound). The one week to the day, 40 minutes away from home, my cars engine blew up. AAA came out and advised us that he has done a shonky job on the timing belt, the belt had broken and as a result had completely shot my engine (pistons and all that stuff were ruined). We are now in the process of getting a whole new engine through another mechanic which will cost us over $2000, and are going to go through court to get all our money back and the money for towing expences, which is over $300 and the new engine. We have to approach Purrfect Auto and make him aware of the money that he owes us, but frankly I am quite scared to do it!. The guy is horrible and we believe that he has done this to our cars engine deliberately. We are now left without our car and both work 30 mins away from work. Lets hope he gets what he deserves, people like this should no run a business!

When the guy screwed up my car, I wrote the Better Business Bureau, he got the hint. You can do this online and he will get a certified letter.

Guest

Yeah, something very similar happened to me. I had my timing belt replaced at Purrfect Auto in West Covina and I knew something wasn't right, the moment i left the shop.

3 days later my car stopped in the middle of the road. As it turned out, they installed the wrong timing belt on my Civic and it was too loose. I was able to get it corrected by my new mechanic for just $250, but I will never go back to Purrfect. They tried to claim that it was my fault and wanted to charge me for more parts.

Of course i'm not ***. No, thanks

Can anybody help me with this problem?

I had a complete brake job (front and rear) done on my 1999 Ford Ranger 3.0 V6 when it had about 70000 miles on it. The problem was the rear brakes were grabbing and locking up when they were wet. Things were OK for a few weeks until I drove in the rain and the same thing happened. I took it back to Purrfect and told them that the rear brakes have the same problem. They checked and adjusted the rear brakes again, said everything is OK. A few weeks later same problem. Back to PURRfect Auto. They said I must be parking in a pot hole full of water. Truck is always parked in a heated garage. Could not get them to fix the problem. Can anybody help me with this problem? Tim Henderson, NV

Humid climate? His posting says he's in Henderson Nevada.

I don't think so. It's probably cheap whel cylinders they installed or hardware kit is damaged.

Most of these luby shops don't have a clue how to istall brake shoes. Go to a real brake specialist 8)

Hal T Fqm

Rear ranger drum brakes are notorious for locking up in humid climate. This is why, the shoes "soak up" the moisture in the atmosphere, causing the shoes to swell, the first couple of times you use your brakes, the rear locks up.

Once the brakes have warmed up and dried out, they work normally. Before you ***, give the brake pedal a couple of full pressure pumps, forcing the moisture out of the shoes, this should resolve the problem

Nevada AG Investigates Purrfect Auto

Buyer beware. That is the message from the Nevada Attorney General's office. Almost a dozen Purrfect Auto repair shops are accused of ripping people off. The attorney general's investigators say they have carried out a sting to shut down the shops. They are allegedly under control of one man named Shafik Hirji, who is named in the lawsuit. Today, Action News found a woman who says she is backing the suit and it is personal. As a single mother of two, Indrea Dixon's car means a lot. When the gauges and dash started acting up, she took it to a Purrfect Auto repair shop. They told her she needed a transmission and that they would call around to find one. Dixon says she was told they replaced her transmission, but she says the same problems persisted. Days later they told her she needed a transmission module and said they put it in. "But they charged me $1,370 for a transmission, which I paid, and they will not refund my money", Dixon says. Action News went to the Purrfect Auto location where Dixon says she asked for repairs. They said the owner was unavailable and the new manager has only been there for ten days, and he personally knows of no wrongdoings in that time. Still, the state attorney general's office has the shop on their list of eleven local Purrfect Auto locations. It says the locations are part of a scheme to rip people off by selling unnecessary repairs and charging for parts and work not even provided. Action News called and left messages for Purrfect Auto's franchise and have not gotten any response. Dixon says she has had the same luck trying to get her money back. The Attorney General's Office of Consumer Protection says customers who have a complaining can call them at 486-****. Their case to shut down the eleven location goes to court in February. Keep it tuned to Channel 13 Action News for the latest on this case.

$920 later my car is still making the same noise

I took my car in for an oil change on 07/15/10 to the location at 1770 E. Charleston. I was told at that time I needed a new CV boot. I looked at it and it looked like it had been cut but I agreed to the repair. It took 3 men to get my tire off and they banged it repeatedly with a sledge hammer. About two weeks after that I began to hear strange noises from that wheel. I took it back and told them they had done something when they fixed my tire. They put the car up on the rack and told me I needed a new rack and pinion steering. They told me that if I tried to drive my car away, it would probably fall apart in a block. I have 56000 mi on my car but did not know that wasn't true. I agreed to the repair. $920 later the car still makes the same noise and I totally feel that the repair they did was not necessary. I am an older female who does not know about cars and could not afford to put this money out!

Sounds like they have installed some cheap rebuilt CV axles from Autozone. That's why you are still hearing the same noise.

Purrfects never buy new parts, they buy used or rebuilt, or even worse they just repaint your parts sometimes.

Have them warranty out your CV axels. :zzz

Don't go to Purrfect Auto

I had gone to purrfect auto to get a smog check at the flamingo location which is no longer open, probably for good reason too. After getting the among check I was informed by one of the mechanics that my hoses were old and it is advised to replace them. I said ok and they were replaced. About a week later my car started to overheat whenever the car was in idle or park. When checking my car I noticed my water level was extremely low so I refilled it with 50/50 and I had no problem until a week lyater when it happened again. Turns out that the hoses that were replaced were never tightened down which is kinda suspicious to me considering they were on by hose clamps. And I'm pretty sure anyone would know to tighten the hoses down very tightly to avoid such problems.
