Advancing Nigeria to greatness

ADVANCING NIGERIA TO GREATNESS WITHOUT TEARS

Your excellency, as a concerned Nigerian, I'm offering the under-listed four point agenda for drastic economic growth of our great country Nigeria. The suggestions, if well implemented will, by God's Grace, rapidly uplift the nation to greater heights, without any form of hardship inflicted (or required taxation) on the populace.

Points

1. Exhibition of talents' festival - the government should create a periodic (2 to 3-day) exhibition for indigenous talents' hunt yearly. This should be organized regionally - one in central North, South East and South West of the country. In the fair, the government should look out for relevant talents to invest on as each display their potentials. A special fund (raised by the government, call-out sponsors and companies) should be dedicated towards this project. Once 2 to 4 talents are selected, their ideas should be reviewed, where need be modified (or combined) and expedited. The talents should be rewarded with key posts in the emerging companies and small cash donation. Such companies may then be sold (profitably), once fully established (within a year or max 2 years), to private (indigenous) buyers - for adequate management and national development.. This way, the government will not only establish laudable companies of interest, but also generate income from the privatization of such.

In addition, other investors may tap into it by investing in such talents privately, thus capitalizing the economy with meager amount.

2. The government may ask for the bottlenecks and assist to ensure that the moribund refineries take off in full swing. The government's support may then be monetized and sold as shares to the public for gain, after 6 months of successful running. Likewise, illegal refiners should be called for deliberation and coordinated / guided to increase productivity. They may be merged into legal units and supported. The government's support is later monetized at a stipulated time and sold as shares to the public.

3. The agric sector is another area of interest. As a livestock expert, I will advise that regional agriculture centres are created where very cheap (locally designed and bred) farm seeds and implements are produced for farmers via:

a) establishing modified, regional agro-academic institutes where agro-engineering equipments are studied, improved and fabricated for local (and export) purposes.

b) livestock breed engineering is reviewed and developed to suit our climate - for local and regional (West Africa) commercialization.

c) short-term (6 months) zonal agric institutes are organized for farmers, agro-investors and interested pre-pensioned workers, for profitable investment.

d) Regional agric seeds' centres - a multi-cultural approach to livestock feeds and fertilizers production via local wastes recycling is embraced here. This makes (livestock *** arable) farming cheaper and viable for farmers, and ensures national food security and export.

4. Other ideas, with respect to defense / security and the likes, will be discussed, depending on the response to the above, when summoned - being very sensitive.

May the Almighty God restore our country to greatness and it's rightful position of leadership in Christ Jesus Name. Amen!

Yours faithfully,

Dr Yinka Akintomide

URGENT NEED FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A NEW AMNESTY BOARD IN NIGER DELTA...

Some youths from the Niger Delta region have called on President Tinubu to appoint a new Amnesty Board as the present occupying board has since expired.

This calls attention to the need for a new leadership to address the various challenges facing the region.

According the youths in a statement issued in Asaba Delta, the oil-producing region in Nigeria, has been plagued by numerous issues such as environmental degradation, unemployment, and socio-economic inequalities.

The Amnesty Program, initiated in 2009, aimed to address these challenges by providing education, vocational training, and empowerment initiatives for former militants.

However, the recent expiration of the Amnesty Board has created a leadership vacuum, which has left the region without proper administration and hindered progress in addressing the aforementioned issues. Recognizing the urgent need for a new board, the Niger Delta youths have appealed to President Tinubu for timely intervention.

President Tinubu, being a prominent figure with vast political experience and influence, is seen as crucial in appointing a competent and dedicated board that can effectively lead the Amnesty Program.

It is hoped that his administration will prioritize the needs of the Niger Delta region and work towards sustainable development and peacebuilding initiatives.

The Niger Delta youths assert that the appointment of a new Amnesty Board is essential for continuity and progress in the region. They emphasize that it is vital for the board members to possess the necessary expertise, understanding, and dedication to effectively address the challenges faced by the region.

Moreover, the call for action by the Niger Delta youths highlights the importance of engaging with the local population and incorporating their inputs in decision-making processes.

This inclusivity will ensure that the policies and programs implemented by the Amnesty Board are in line with the aspirations and needs of the people.

In conclusion, the expiration of the present Amnesty Board in the Niger Delta has prompted the youths to call on President Tinubu to appoint a new leadership as soon as possible. This development emphasizes the pressing need for effective administration in the region, ensuring that the challenges faced by the Niger Delta are adequately addressed to promote sustainable development and peace.
