- Confusion between 30 Bencoolen and Bencoolen Hotel; transfer cost $490; refund requested.
- Bencoolen Hotel was dirty with broken fixtures.
The confirmation we received was different from the and reservation. They were made at two different hotels.
30 Bencoolen is at 47 Bencoolen St and Bencoolen Hotel is at 30 Bencoolen St. I can understand the confusion in hotel names. Yet there is no confusion in quality of hotels.
We arrived travel weary at 02:00 on 20 February only to discover that Hotel Bencoolen is awful. The light fixtures are broken and exposed, the towels stained and tattered, and the room is dingy and dirty.
The air conditioner was turned on so high, the room was freezing and we couldnt open the window. Not what we expected for the price.
Frustrated I contacted 30 Bencoolen Hotel and asked about our reservation. Through a series of WhatsApp exchanges, we discovered that the reservation was made at Bencoolen Hotel even though my confirmation (see below) was made at 30 Bencoolen.
Not wanting to stay another minute at the rundown hotel, we walked across the street to the 30 Bencoolen hotel. The receptionist found us a room at a costs of $490.
Needless to say, we packed our bags and transferred from Hotel Bencoolen to 30 Bencoolen hotel.
I have photos of the rundown hotel and will share upon request.
Again, as Pueblo Bonito Preferred members, we expect a full refund to our account for your error and inconvenience to our stay. We expect Pueblo Bonito to make this right and reimburse me at their earliest convenience.
