Dont attend this school

I learned about PTCI Trade and tech. school from the Texas Workforce, and believed it would be a good school. I am writing this review so that others will not make that same mistake. I was very wrong. The school is overpriced and the quality of education is much far below that of Houston Community College Systems for about 4 times the cost. after one year of completion, the student is given a certification with no AS Degree. The state will cover the majority of the cost, but at a little over 16, 000. per course you will have to apply for financial aid and student loans. If you believe you will be given rental assistance while you are in school, please don't. The money will come from the state as a part of your financial aide, and you will be required to pay back the full amount plus interest when you graduate. For the amount you will be required to repay the state, just go some place else and get a better education. Please understand that the money that pays your rent or the cost of living while in school, will go to PTCI. The school in turn becomes responsible for paying your monthly rental. Four months into the program my room-mate and I have received 3 notices to vacate the property, due to none payment of rent and 1 final eviction notice. If one pays a thousand dollars per month, you should hope to find a some what decent place to live, but not in this program. The school along with Helping Hands to the Community will place the student in selected properties. As for the properties the schools is using for " Student Housing," please be careful. If you don't have strong gang ties and a serious drug habit, they may not be the place for you. My room-mate and I have had our apartment broken into and been caught in the cross fire of a shoot out that may have been a drug deal gone wrong. Bullets were flying, so I did not stick around to find out. Do your research, stay away from the Ella Blvd at Richie Rd - Airtex Area, and use your financial aide for student housing wisely
