CONTACTED THE BBB FOR HELP

I submitted the following complaint to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) serving New Mexico and Southwest Colorado in the hopes that Mr. Pressley would do the right thing and refund me the money. The BBB stated that they would forward my complaint to Pressley Building & Renovations but that is all they can do because there is a judgement already against the company.

Complaint Details

Pressley Building & Renovations, LLC8701 Chambers PlaceAlbuquerque, NM 87111Contact:Pressley, ChristopherPhone:(505) 730-****

Complaint Classification: Complaint Description - Posted 1/22/2013 2:03:17 PMI hired Mr. Samuel Christopher Pressley, owner of Pressley Building & Renovations LLC (PBR), to remodel my master bedroom and bathroom in October 2011. I entered into a written contract with Mr. Pressley which specifically stated that PBR would provide licensed, bonded & insured workers to remodel my home; the total for the work was $6,634. The total amount paid directly to PBR was $4,643.80 (30% deposit check $1,990.20 & 40% start-up check $2,653). PBR employees performed the following work: demolished the master bathroom, painted the master bedroom, and partially tiled the master bathroom (no grout was used). This work started on November 30, 2011 and terminated on December 9, 2011 (weekdays only) due to unethical work practices. During this seven day work period PBR employees not only failed to use the proper dust control measures but also left demolition trash outside my home. I emailed Mr. Pressley all of my concerns and included the pictures. But Mr. Pressley dismissed my concerns. During this seven day period Mr. Samuel Christopher Pressley also hired an unlicensed electrician to install four dedicated circuits for my new jetted tub. On December 7, 2011 Mr. Pressley sent Mr. Manuel Lopez, owner of Amen Plumbing & Heating, to perform the electrical work at my home and assured me that Mr. Lopez was a licensed electrician. Mr. Lopez charged me $909.50 for the electrical work and Mr. Pressley assured me that he would deduct that amount from the last check I was to submit.

Complaint SummaryConsumer is requesting a refund in the amount of $3,117.00 for home remodel that was not completed.

Resolution SoughtI want Mr. Pressley to honor his word and refund me $3,117. The New Mexico Regulations & Licensing Department Construction Industries Division is aware of his unethical practices & has tried to collect the judgment but have been unsuccessful.

Poor Customer Service

July 2012

We hired this company in July 2012 and it was a total disaster! Be careful Chris Pressley will charge you a 30% deposit and then a 40% startup deposit!!

He gets paid almost everything up front and then does not care how the project turns out! Do not hire this man unless you want a headache!! We had to hire another contractor to fix his mess! Also, beware that the address of his company listed on his website is an abandoned building (866-769-**** 8701 Chambers Place Northeast Albuquerque, NM 87111!!

Don't take my word for it though--put it in your GPS and see if Chris's office is there.

I wish I had read all these reviews before I hired him!

Pressley Building & Renovations BAD BUISNESS 05-20-2012

3 week kitchen turned into 9 weeks (all attributed to our change and shipping time?) After our change we did not get a detailed design and this caused problems. My wife became angry and Chris only came to the project one time after that; communicating through his workers.

Our breakfast bar has a panel that does not match the cabinets; a piece of wood trim was pieced together leaving a large gap. At the end of the project Chris called me while I was at work and cursed me saying, What the $% do I have to do to get out of this %$ job?

I am finishing the project myself. Poor customer service, Contractor was always right.

I hired Chris a few months ago & it was bad. His crew did not speak English & only showed up to collect money.

I am also finishing the project myself. I would not hire him again.

Judgement awarded against PBR

I hired Pressley Building & Renovations (PBR) through service magic in October 2011. The owner of PBR, Mr.

Samuel Christopher Pressley, brought an unlicensed person to perform the electrical work I needed for a bathroom remodel. My contract specifically stated that PBR would use a licensed electrician; I fired him immediately. I had to hire an attorney because Mr. Pressley did not return the monies I paid him.

I filed a complaint against him with the NM CID and a NM judge filed a judgement against him in April 2012.

It is now January 2013 & I still have not received my money back from Mr. Pressley.
