Lack of follow through.
Initially we were happy with PrepNow and the tutors, however, our complaint came after COVID-19. We agreed to postpone our tutoring due to COVID-19.
When we reached out to the company via email and phone calls to restart tutoring we were unable to reach anyone employed there. Our excellent tutor had quit and had referred us to a general number. Multiple attempts were made to contact PrepNow. We did not hear back from the company until one week prior to our ACT exam.
We have been very disappointed with the lack of follow up the company had with us.
Had we not been persistent in our attempts to reach them, we feel we would not have heard from them at all. Way to much money spent to be receiving poor customer care.

Resolved: Expensive, no results
The company refunded not all I spent, but an amount that I consider fair.
After posting this review, I was contacted by the company who reviewed my situation and as was called for, refunded me a portion of my payment. I consider this a fair resolution of this issue.
In amending this review in light of their stepping up to plate and doing what is right, I am now satisfied with this company.
Things can't always go right 100% of the time, but the people who stand with their program deserve recognition for that.My only advice is to be sure that the tutor you choose will be available throughout your childs preparation time. As they stand behind their results, and backed up their promise, I would recommend this company.
We hired PrepNow and were talked into the highest level tutor...read, extra expensive...because our daughter already had a decent score and needed special help to get her into a top tier score. She did everything the tutor asked, and her score changed not one bit.
I contacted the company to express my displeasure and to ask about their guarantee, which is not a guarantee at all. Steer clear of this group.
There are many good tutors out there and some may even work here but this company is about making money for themselves, results be damned. I am horrified that I fell for them.

Verified ReviewerDon't buy.
I went to their website to ask what I would get if I paid for a high priced $260/hr tutor and they sent me a generic flyer. Vastly overpriced. After reading some of the other reviews by customs who paid thousands of dollars and were very unsatisfied and got no improvement in SAT scores, I would absolutely not purchase this product.
Preferred solution: Dont waste time asking about their overpriced tutors.
Great experience
Working with the tutor got us the score we needed for a scholarship. It was a lot of hard work for my son, but it was worth it in the end.

Bad tutors - no results
PrepNow is expensive. It would be worth it if they delivered what they promise but they do not.
They promise to "match" your student with a tutor that can cater to your child's learning style and needs. They sell you on the technology that they have available to make is as if the tutor is actually with your child rather than at a distance. My child is highly visual so I loved the skype and other visual tools that they kept talking about. The first two tutors my student was "matched" with did not know how to use the visual tools so just droned on and on over the phone with my daughter.
It was a waste of her time and my money. The third tutor knew how to use the technology but was an "upgrade" and only had availablity for 1 or 2 sessions with her before she sat for the test (again). Her score only improved marginally. The experience was awful.
It was a huge waste of time and money. I want my money back - but all they want to offer is more tutoring sessions and for her to sit for the test again.
Stay away from this company!

Amazing experience
My son and daughter have both used StudyPoint and Prepnow tutoring both in-home and online and both have seen dramatic increases in their exam scores. We were referred to Prepnow from my sons friends on his baseball team who also used this tutoring company and had a great experience.
The enrollment directors I worked with each time were not pushy with trying to sell my family their programs and genuinely worked to find the best tutor for my children. Our tutors with each experience were phenomenal! They were educated and great communicators and really tailored their instruction to my children’s needs.
My son ended up being accepted to the University of Michigan and my daughter accepted into Georgetown. I would recommend StudyPoint and Prepnow tutoring to anyone and everyone.
Not helping
I am currently being tutored for my upcoming SAT and I am simply not learning anything. I have been doing the tutoring for about a month and a half now and I do not feel any more confident in the test than I did when I started.
The online experience is awful and I personally cannot learn in this environment. The disconnect between tutor and student is very apparent and it is hard for me to take anything seriously when I cannot even see the person I am interacting with. I am super disappointed and I want my parents to get their money back because I don't see myself improving at all. It has gotten to the point where I absolutely dread my two hour window for tutoring because it feels like a waste of time and money.
I try to remain positive but nothing is working with this company.
Thank God for the money back guarantee because there will be no improvement from my previous score. Shame.

Waste of Time and Money
My daughter who is a 4.4 student, took 24 hour of tutoring and I spent $1500. Her first score went down, her second score went up 1 point from a 26 to a 27.
It was a waste of time and money. I could have gotten results like this in much less time and certainly much less money. She did all the homework and prep tests they requested. They advertise that they have people who have scored well and have a structured program.
That all may be true, but it isn't a good program.
I don't recommend their service. You can probably find local one-on-one tutoring in your hometown for considerably less money.

The absolute biggest waste of money. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE
After paying a small fortune, my sons SAT grades actually both went down. In response to that the "Manager" stated it was most likely due to my son not doing home work.
However I had numerous conversations with his tutor where she was quick to point out that he was working hard and doing all of his home work. They fabricated excuses for my waste of money. Im quite sure they had no idea who they were talking about when they responded to my complaint as their facts were completely wrong. Go to Princeton review or Kaplan.
They work!
Prep review does not. Complete waste of time and money.

Prep now tutoring doesn't fulfill obligations - adds no value
I recently paid $1,500 for a one on one tutoring service. Staff at Prep Now was all over me - polite and responsive, until they got my money.
The tutoring contract was never completed. I was not given feedback after every few session as promised. Time that was supposed to be spent going over material was spent having practiced tests taken while the tutor sat there. When I complained to the head office their response was basically that they trusted the tutor and that she said she did everything she was supposed to.
Biggest waste of money. Nice people until after you pay. After 17 hours of tutoring (I paid for 18) and completing all assigned homework I saw no improvement in my score.
They promise improvement. If their tutoring is worth anything there should have been some small amount of improvement after 17 hours!
