Worst movers ever in Clinton Township
Where do we begin? We used Preferred Moving and Storage movers in Harrison Township Michigan back in October 2015 and found this horrid mover on the internet.
Unfortunately, i didn't see these bad reviews of this company until we experienced a bad move with them. Anyways...We had hired 4 of their movers who i deem to be the worst ever. Do not be fooled by their sales tactics. The nice sales gentleman named Greg was very polite when he came to our home to give us a quote and the ladies on the phones were ok.
We recently had moved from our home in Clinton Twp to Rochester Hills MI. When we searched for a mover on the internet, we found these guys closest to our home. On moving day, everything started out fine until the lead driver told me one fee after another up front when these movers showed up. I added 5 extra items and 30 extra boxes because my wife and I didn't have the time and the movers told me that if i chose to have them move these extra items that it was going to add additional time and that the move was most likely going to go past 5pm.
The worst part is when my move went past 5pm, the drivers took me aside and and told me that the fees were going to double and any work completed past 5pm i would have to pay them cash on the side! I couldn't believe it! So naturally i asked the driver for me to speak to a manager. When that happened the 2 drivers said they were the owners and the office was closed!
Then another helper named Marcus, told me that not to worry, this happens all the time. So the initial estimate was for $1,525.00. In the end my wife and I paid $2,250.00 for this local move!!!! My wife had to go withdraw $800.00 in cash from our bank to pay them for the cash overtime!
Never again will i use this company and i warn you if you do use them, you too will pay too much.
Next time we are going to call more than one mover for a quote.

Poor Customer Service
These people at this company give you a low-ball estimate over the phone and then overcharge when the job is done. They were very rude about this.
They included excessive time for being on the road and also included a lunch break in their time. There was a large dent on the washer where you could tell it was strapped into the truck. We also found scratches on the dresser. The door jambs were scratched some of the doorwalls and walls going to the basement.
There was damage at the old house also. Numerous phone calls were made and we were told by the girls in the office the manager was never in.
Messages were ignored and never returned. Do not use this company

Very Pleased
I moved with Preferred Moving and Storage this past summer and was very happy with my move. The salesperson that came out gave me a fair price and stayed in contact with me through my entire move.
He provided me with packing tips and made sure we had all the supplies we needed for our move. We had a great driver that kept me informed on when our stuff would get to New York.
I know that we moved during the busiest time of the year yet we had no problems with our move which I expected with them being so busy. Overall I could recommend the company and would use them again.

BADDDD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!
This company was a total nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were not only incompetent, but extremely rude, disrespectful, uncaring, unconcerned, & the employees attitudes & behavior obviously comes from the top, as the owner, Henry Cadle, has never responded to the complaints about anything his employees have done.
They packed things they were instructed not to pack, they didn't pack things that were supposed to be loaded, & I am left here with a major problem of not having my things that I need in my new home, which is in another country, but he doesn't care. There is nothing professional about this company!
I happened to work for this company over the summer and we are very careful with everything we touch. We are very good at packing the correct things as long as the customer does not frequently change there mind on what they want packed.
We try hard to listen and do a good job. Also, Henry takes every complaint seriously and tries his best to correct it. If there is a complaint, we definitely hear about it. We are also told what we should have done instead to fix the situation.
Henry is a very nice person and a very good boss that cares very much about his customers.
If you read some of the other reviews on this website, you will see they are almost all positive. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with this company, but I can tell you that it's not exactly as you think.

Great Experience with Preferred Moving and Storage - Wheaton in Clinton Township, MI
I could not have been more pleased with the driver and employees who loaded and unloaded my possessions. They were very efficient and handled everything with great care.
The driver kept me informed of the time they would arrive to load, and provided me with updates on where he and my stuff was as he made his way from Michigan to Arizona. I could not have asked for a more courtesy or helpful company.
Relocating is stressful enough, but the employees at Preferred Moving and Storage made the moving side one less worry. I would highly recommend Wheaton/Preferred moving and storage.
Great experience. Very professional, courteous & accurate with the estimates.
All the things were handled very well and I was kept informed all through the move.
It was a blessing for me that I chose Preferred moving & storage for my move. Thanks Shawn Cook & the crew.

Unbelievable Inept Movers
Day before paid in full $5.000. Packed and ready to drive cross country from MI to AZ.
Truck arrives 5 hours late. Driver walks through my house and says he doesn't have room on his truck for my stuff. WTF
3 hours later another truck pulls up and they start unloading one truck to another in front of my house. "helpers" begging to go home by midnight and not done. Thought get a good start on drive to AZ. Ended up staying in a hotel 20 minutes from my house. BEWARE DRIVE NAMED "LANCE" BEST TO AVOID WHEATON AND THIS COMPANY!

Wheaton, Preferred Moving and Storage 44267 Macomb Industrial Dr., Clinton Twp., MI. Are IDIOTS! Move set up months in advance, paid in full day before and ready to go. Truck to arrive at 8a.m. FACT: Truck shows up 5 hours late. Driver walks through my house and announces he "doesn't have room on the truck for my stuff" WHAT?? Preferred Moving's owner out of town, someone shows up and they start moving stuff from one truck to another in front of my house! 3 hours later they start on my house. I was to leave to drive across country to AZ around 5p.m. The helpers were begging to go home around midnight,said they would finish up tomorrow and I should go ahead and start my trip across country and they would finish and lock up. YEAH RIGHT, LIKE I WOULD TRUST THESE IDIOTS!!!! I ended up around 3 a.m. staying in a hotel about 20 minutes from my house.
BEWARE OF TRUCK DRIVER NAMED "LANCE" chummy ***.
In AZ delivery: Truck shows up 4 hours late and sits in front of my AZ house for 2 hours because he doesn't have any "helpers". WTF!!!!!
DO NOT USE WHEATON OR PREFERRED MOVING AND STORAGE IN CLINTON TWP.. I have moved 13 times, this WAS UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
