Power Places Tours in Egypt, go with someone else!
I would never recommend Power Places Tours. Where do I begin with this insane Egyptian experience.
Before the trip even started, I should've known they were unprofessional and money-hungry when Teri Weiss, the owner of Power Places Tours, tried to get extra money from me for a single room that I didn't ask for. Our group was an odd number for double occupancy and she tried to charge me for an extra $2000. All to which I definitely did not pay. Teri then sneaks in an extra $80 per person for WiFi and non-alcoholic drinks while we were on the boat on the Nile, not understanding why this wouldn't be included in the price.
Unreal for an almost $7000 ticket price excluding flights to Egypt!!!
But from the first full day together with her collaborator and Egyptologist Emil Shaker, I knew this was going to be a bazaar trip. Walking around with this self-proclaimed crazy man (yes he would call himself that), he did nothing short of yelling and constantly raising his voice at our well-traveled ADULT group like a bunch of children. Daily hearing from him in a harsh tone to stay quiet, come closer to him, telling us he didn't have to be there and that he could be elsewhere, yelling at us at the airport if we touched our own luggage, literally saying he likes to control people, and then later talking about people having *** with donkeys. Then on top of it, he talked about me and my fiance and ideas he had about our private time together ...it was truly unbelievable!!!
I could go on. To add to this, he would completely yell at Teri, and she would cower to his every word. Any time I asked Teri a question she would default to Emily to answer. Teri acts like she hasn't done this before, like it was her first time.
Oooing and awwwing at everything Emil says. It was all so uncomfortable to observe.
We had some extremely early times to temples without the crowds, and private tour to the grand pyramid and The Sphinx in the middle of the night, which were incredible, but Emil made it out like we owed him his life. I personally was told by him twice to say thank you to him. On other notes, the food on the boat was tasteless 75% of the time, the hotel in Cairo was supposedly 5-star and didn't look it.
Teri overcharges an insane amount on the car to and from the airport. Get an uber!
Overall, after the trip I find myself barely talking about these sacred temples, but more about the abusive energy emitted from Emil and the unprofessional way Teri runs her business.
As a business owner in New York City, this excursion was one of the most unprofessionally run programs lacking fully in customer service and tact. Again, DO NOT go on the trip with these people to Egypt or anywhere else in the world!

Food poisoning, extra charges
Food Poisoning on Peru Trip and Egypt trip. Terry/Teresa, insulted me, on bus In Peru for no justifiable reason.
Terry made demands for extra charges not stated in trip price. Peru food poisoning of 40% of tourists. A very slender woman in her 70's risked death from diarrhea and dehydration in Peru. Terry always had her food prepared separately as Kosher.
She didn't get ill in Peru or Egypt Food poisoning on Nile Cruise ship. Ship food poisoned half of Tourists out of 79, Chronic, crippling, Diarrhea, then demanded payment for ship doctor.
Promised Main speaker in Egypt cancelled before my trip. Almost 200 in our group.

Fabulous Experience
I really don't understand what problems the complainers had. Power Places is a business.
They provide a service and are entitled to get paid for it. Gregg Braden is the most brilliant person I have ever met in person, as well as being humble and extremely caring and warm. I just returned from a trip to Peru with them. Everything was perfectly organized, 5 star hotels, excellent guides, fabulous food, etc.
Gregg sat down and talked to each and everyone of our group of 40.
Over the course of our 2 week trip we became like a family experiencing the most amazing sites and mysticism together. If anyone has ever had a problem with either Power Places Tours or Gregg Braden, they must have brought it on themselves with negative energy.

The decades of knowledge of taking groups to Egypt, the no hassle process and top of the line customer service certainly made a difference in my experience in Egypt. I want to go to Peru with them next!
