False Advertising on Amenities and Rental of Unsafe Luxury Vacation Rental

NIGHTMARE AT PORTER VACATION RENTAL MANAGEMENT'S DESERT COVE in SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA!!! Many luxury amenities advertised for this property are broken and/or unable to be used safely. The granite swim up bar was broken and had a two-foot long serrated granite knife edge leading into the pool interior. A child in our group suffered a gruesome laceration while swimming requiring emergency services and sutures. Maintenance came out after the injury and affixed a foam swim noodle to the serrated edge. We requested the pool to be heated more than one week in advance of our stay willing to pay the additional $100/day so our group would enjoy the featured pool. It was not heated and we later learned through another maintenance visit that the heater was broken. While the kids braved the cool water, the adults mostly stayed out even though the advertised heated pool was one of the reasons we rented the property. The spa water was cloudy and smelled like a swamp. Pool maintenance came out the next day after we inquired about it and added chlorine to clear up the water. It was not otherwise cleaned. While the kids did go in the spa after that, not a single adult was willing to go in after being too grossed out seeing it previously. Disappointed our group was unable to use the pool or spa safely or comfortably. The popcorn maker in the theater room has a broken stirring unit that prevents a majority of the loaded kernels to pop. The reclining ability/footrest in numerous theater room chairs are broken. There was a single cue stick provided for using the billiards table. It had a large crack from the tip up the base rendering it barely usable. When we checked in the previous guest's coffee filter and grinds were still in the coffee maker. The glass coffee pot had the spout sheared off exposing jagged glass and numerous other large cracks throughout. We literally could not pour coffee without spilling it allover (which we cleaned up). There were visible fingerprints and smudges on switches and handles throughout the house when we checked in. We spent considerable time cleaning ourselves. If you enjoy cooking, suggest bringing your own cutlery as the knives may be one of the few unsharp objects in the house. Spent thousands of dollars renting this property for three nights to spend with close family and friends in luxury over spring break and my wife's birthday. How the property passed any type of adequate guest pre-check in screening is beyond our group. We overwhelmingly did not enjoy our time at desert cove, feel the advertised condition and amenities of the property are grossly exaggerated, would not rent it again, and would not recommend it to others.

Thank you for this comment. I came to this site to see reviews on Porter VRM because they canceled my Airbnb without any explanation and literally just said "we're sorry!".

I'm still waiting on the explanation. I'm pretty sure I dodged a huge bullet by finding a place cheaper and closer to Old Town.
