Port Hotel in Port Washington, WI wouldn't accept gift certificate
I am extremely displeased with the Port Hotel located in Port Washington, Wisconsin. My husband and I made reservations on January 14th, 2012. Before officially making the reservation, I called and asked if our gift certificate from the Wisconsin Bed and Breakfast Association could be used. The person I spoke with said, yes. We made the reservations for Saturday, February 25th, 2012. My husband and I had made plans for this trip for over one month. When we arrived on the 25th, an employee said that our gift certificates could not be used. I explained that we called earlier and what had been said but she said that person was wrong. She not only told us we could not use our certificate but was extremely rude and unkind. Our gift certificate was not expired (it expired on Feb. 28, 2012), Port Hotel was listed on the Wisconsin Bed and Breakfast Association website on January 14th, AND was listed in the materials we received of places to choose from. The way my husband and I were treated was completely unacceptable. Our entire weekend that we had planned since January 14th, had fallen apart. I have made it my duty to pass this information on as much as I can. I will NEVER be visiting the Port Hotel again and will tell everyone I know the same thing and the reasons as to why.
