Any Task Just Ask! Yeah Right!

My Mother and father are 72 years old and live by the lake in the country. It's getting hard for them in the winter getting snow moved around ex.

So this year they decided to move on to my sisters property in an older house. This house needed a lot of work. Doors, Windows, insulation upstairs, sheet rock upstairs, and refinishing of the floors on the main level. So they hired someone a family member knew because he needed work and was a carpenter. He told them what they wanted to hear and gave them a good line on saying well i charge this much less than this company.

He started off doing good work. He had a daughter that also worked with him and a baby grand-daughter that tagged along on almost everyday they worked.Even when they put insulation in the upstairs the baby was right there. To make it worse the daughter had a chair in every room and she was sitting in the chair every time we went there. Baby or not there she was on the chair.

My parents hired them on June 29th and it's almost been 2 months and the only work that was done is the windows were put in but have not been finished, the one door, the insulation and the sheet rock that my brother in law had to redo. The sheet rock was placed to far apart on some spots and not lined up how it should be in others. There were also 60 screws that we had to add to it! He also would only come to work on the house a few days a week at a couple hours a day.

What kind of work is that. A good contractor would be done with this job by now. My mother finally just told him that we didn't need him any more and that we would finish the job our self. So he tried to say well I was gonna do this for free and help you out and so on and so on, but my mom didn't care anymore she was done with it!

Very glad to help her finish the job and burn the chairs! lol
