PlayOn - One of original Lifetime License Purchaser

I was very disappointed when PlayOn announced that they would no longer honor the lifetime access license that I had purchased along with a few family members. We had taken advantage of a limited time offer and felt that we had made a good investment in the service.

However, PlayOn later updated their software to no longer recognize our license numbers and set up the software to no longer connect and work properly. It felt like a bait and switch, and I was frustrated that they did not honor their initial agreement.

Despite my disappointment, I decided to give PlayOn another chance when they offered me 3 free months of service. During this time, I found the service to be reliable and met my needs better than any other option I was able to find online. So, when the free trial ended, I decided to purchase a yearly plan.

However, when I tried to check out, their website errored out and I was charged without being directed to a confirmation page. I immediately contacted customer support through their only available option on the website, which was via email.

I waited patiently for a response and finally received one after 48 hours. However, the response didn't address my issue at all. Instead, they told me that they showed no active account and that my previous account had been canceled on the date my free 3 months had ended.

I was frustrated that they seemed to not have read my email properly and were not addressing my issue. I responded to their email, thanking them for their response, but also clarifying the issue I was experiencing. We exchanged a few more emails, but then they stopped responding altogether.

I tried to resolve the issue through the vendor but was unsuccessful. So, I had to dispute the charge through my bank, providing them with screenshots of all email correspondences.

I made it clear to my bank that this was not a fraudulent charge, but rather an issue with the vendor that I was unable to resolve. I was disappointed that it had to come to this, and I believe that PlayOn could have easily resolved the issue if they had provided a way to contact them and talk to a live person.

Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience with PlayOn.

While I appreciated their initial offer of 3 free months to make up for the lifetime access license issue, their customer support was lacking, and the website error during checkout was unacceptable. I hope that PlayOn will take steps to improve their customer support and website functionality in the future.
