Filed unnecessary complaint against my hairdresser!

Wonderful licensed hairdresser (hrdrssr) comes to home. Advertisers in our community magazine. Fla - self-employed cosmetologists (hrdrssrs) must work thru a salon & leave appt book there. This hairdresser didn't know but has been advertising for years & working thru our community & others. Has a GREAT reputation incl many sr citizens & disabled. Planet Hair owner called this hrdrssr, asked questions as a potential customer & found out she wasn't working thru a salon & verbally attacked her. Then called back & left a very nasty mssg. THEN called the cosmetologist board & filed a complaint!! This is my hrdrssr's livelihood! Many problems for my hrdrssr incl $'s. Cosmetologist board complaint was NOT necessary! The owner was just being plain nasty!! And I found out that she's NASTY & has a very bad reputation. If you are in Fla, plz do not patronize this salon!

Dear Scooterlady, I realize it is hard to listen to your favorite beloved hairdresser moan about getting reprimanded by the board, but the fact is that they knew the rules and chose not to follow them. At Planet Hair a stylist is not required to bring a following or rent the space, therefore using Planet Hair's following, advertising, and Marketing to work and earn a living. The hair dresser signs a legal document when hired that if they leave employment, whether it be to work at another salon or to freelance, they agree to not approach Planet Hair patrons with their new location or info... this is considered stealing customers from your employer... There is a reason the Cosmetology Board allows this type of complaint... A Salon is a business employing many stylists. While being a hair dresser may be her lively hood, it is also the lively hood of all her co-workers that she left behind. By approaching Planet Hair's customers and informing them of her move she knowingly tried to take business from her former employer after she signed an agreement that she would not do exactly that... I am glad the owner complained! I applaud them for sticking up for their rights. It is hard enough to stay in business these days as it is.

It amazes me that people like you will hear one side of the story and then try to put someone out of business instead of taking time to learn the whole truth.

Go to any salon on this planet and you will find drama...and an ex employee that has an axe to grind.
