Pizzello gas forte 16 gas unit not igniting new out of the box

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Pizza oven not working properly with gas unit. Wood cooking is hard to maintain heat while cooking pizza.

Hopper only holds a small amount of wood chips.

This could be my technic. Can't get a hold of customer service to resolve issue with malfunctioning ignitor of gas unit brand new out of box.

I was super excited to receive my Pizzello pizza oven this past weekend! It came with the cart, peel, and stone, all for a great deal.

We opened the box hours after delivery, put cart together first so we had a place to place the oven. Then we took oven out of box and not only was it damaged (2 dents on front), one of the bars inside which holds the pizza stone, was bent! This did NOT happen during shipping, this is a manufacturing issue. So we sent an email immediately to support as that is what the website said to do.

Since then, I have received one email per day (usually before 6am), trying to make deals with me to keep the oven because it is very expensive to ship back. And if I want to keep the cart I need to pay $30. Excuse me? This product came defective and damaged out of box.

All I need are return labels and a full refund. The fact that they are trying to get me to either keep this or pay them money is absurd! I also tried calling them and their mailbox is full so that was unsuccessful. Then today, I received no email response have I been ghosted???

I also just tried calling again and it goes directly to saying, "the wireless customer you are trying to reach has a mailbox that is full". Is this really how you all do business? Is this what Pizzello calls customer service? Is this how Pizzello stands behind their products?

I will be sure to tell every person, neighbor, doctors office etc.

about this company. Word will spread quickly...This could have been simply taken care of by sending me return labels and providing a full refund, done!

Wish is saw this review prior to my purchase as I think their ghosting me as well. Their last communication said that they would ship me a new oven (rust inside) and missing parts.

This company has no customer support or quality control. Beware!

Sorry you are dealing with this too. I even opened a claim with BBB and they were unable to reach them as well so they ended up closing the case.

Befuddles me how these people can get away with this and not receive any punishment or be held accountable. Just terrible. I just recommend you tell everyone you know and share wherever you can to get the word out as that is the only thing we can do.

Good luck. G

Pizzello - Poor customer service
Original review updated Jan 02, 2024

While unboxing the pizzello, the pizza stone was broke. Customer service is practically nonexistent.

Currently waited for a response about a replacement stone for 4 days. I was asked to track down a order number (understandable) after sending a picture of the stone in the original packaging. All I have now is crickets on their end.

Do better. Positives, the product seems well made.

I threw the $400 grill in the garbage and bought one that really works. My opinion of Pizzello is their policy is send the money!

The new outdoor oven has worked well. Not only does it make excellent pizzas, you can bake a whole line of products in it as well.

My wife and I enjoy a good pizza. Unable to buy one where we live, we have gotten pretty good at making our own.

We bought a Pizzello Pizza Oven hoping to improve on our home-made pizzas. What a MISTAKE. I now own a $400 paper weight as we have been unable to cook a pizza in this piece of crap. We have made several attempts and get nothing eatable.

First, we waited for the 16" model to become available. Once back in stock we placed our order and awaited delivery. The oven arrived and with great anticipation. I proceeded to put the thing together.

Once assembled I proceeded to attempt to light the thing off so we could cook a pizza only to find the burner would not light. So, I contacted Pizzello. I have no idea what the fascination with send us a picture is. Especially when a picture would show nothing related to the issue and I do not have the capability to take and send pictures for reasons I will not get into.

So, I informed Pizzello I could not send them a picture and explained their burner would not light. After getting nothing of value back from Pizzello except it appeared they wanted me to be their friend as they kept referring to me as Dear Friend. So, I disputed the payment with my Visa. This prompted them to send me a new burner that worked.

This oven also comes with a wood pellet burner which is really a Strech as the thing has no ignitor to start the pellets. It's more like a pellet basket that you need a torch to light, it also does not hold enough pellets to be of much use unless you sit there and pour more pellets into it to keep it going. The product also comes with a peel for loading and unloading your pizza into the oven. The handle fell off this item within the first week of use.

But back to the cooking process. I have made several attempts to cook a pizza in this so-called oven to no avail. Due to the burner proximity to the pizza every pizza I have cooked with the propane burner has turned into a crispy critter. Any pizza I cooked and turned as noted in their instructions still turned into a crispy critter.

You can remove your pizza before the edge turns black, but then the pizza main body is doughy as it needs to cook longer, which brings us back to a burnt black crust on the edges. I also purchased a table with this oven hoping it would hold the item comfortable. Not so!

The 16-inch oven is too big to fit on this rolling table. Fortunately I found another use for this as my Ninja outdoor woodfired grill sits on it nicely.

Pizza oven missing parts

I got a pizza oven for Christmas and the heat plate that goes in oven holes dont line up. The plate is 8 inches apart and the oven holes are 7 inches apart.

Looks like I have a plate for a bigger oven. I would like the right part sent to me.
