Shipped a rancid, putrid product

This company deserves negative stars and no patrons. I placed an order of Guanciale as a gift that arrived putrid, spoiled, slimy and rotted.

It was opened minutes after it was delivered. I contacted the company immediately. No response. I sent a voice message and another email.

I then got a generic response alluding to they ship their products well. I sent 2 more emails, asking for a refund for a product. I received a phone call that resulted in no resolution. They refused to stand behind their company and rectify the situation.

The explanation was that since I had not chosen expedited shipping, they could not guarantee that the product would arrive in good condition. Shouldnt a product always arrive in good condition? The person said that the site says expedited shipping recommended which somehow I overlooked, thinking I was given shipping options. If that is the only way to have something arrive in good condition, there should only be one choice.

The choice that guarantees perfect delivery. He said he was trying to work with me but he wasnt, he just kept backpedaling and making excuses since he would not refund my $30. He did offer a $20 online credit (not a refund) but no one would reorder from a deceptive, dishonest company that sends rotted products. Please do not be a patron of this company.

As a business owner, I take care of my customers so I find this companys response deportable. I am also a food safety instructor and I and I am aware of safety laws. This is insanitary and goes against health code. He said he is not responsible for bad products.

It was not a late delivery so he cannot blame it on that. It came a day before the eta.

They have violated several. Pinocchio is a fitting name for this place.
