Bought a couch and returned it

AI Highlights
  • Paid $170 delivery and $50 removal.
  • Wrong color couch.
  • Uncomfortable couch; hurts our backs.
  • Restocking fee charged.
  • Out $450.

I was really dumbfounded that when we went to the Pilgrim Furniture in Southington that we paid 170 dollars to have it delivered and if we wanted our couch taken out, we had to pay 50 dollars. The salesman was nice, but after we got the couch, we noticed it was the wrong color couch.

The couch was so uncomfortable and hurt our backs.

We also had to pay a restocking fee. WE now are out 450 dollars.

Would give no stars if I could

AI Highlights
  • Couch bought in 2019 and is peeling and coming apart.
  • Warranty says normal wear; store won’t cover; customer unhappy with service.

We purchased a fake leather couch in 2019. It is now peeling and coming apart.

We also purchased a protection plan. Their warranty people say that it's normal wear and tear. So I contacted management at the store, and was told they will not cover it. A set that costs over $2000 should last more than 2 years, and shouldn't peel!!!

They will do nothing to help us. I have taken care of this couch, and we are Seniors with no children or pets at home. Why won't they honor a disgruntled customer's complaint with the quality of this couch!!! They pawn it off on the warranty department.

We feel we were sold junk and a couch of very very poor quality. Why not take care of the customer?

We don't understand. It make not be covered under warranty, but how about just plain customer service???!!!

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution

User's recommendation: Buy better quality stuff elsewhere!!!!

The company's warranty department is going to come out and take a look at the sofa within the next week. Hopefully they will see that it's not wear and tare, it's poor quality material that the couch is made of.
