They are not honest with their services and do not uphold their contracts
"I will begin by saying that it is now February (almost a year later) and I still don’t have my album, despite their contract timeline. They have made every excuse in the book as to why I don't have it, from personal family issues to professional equipment issues.
I have asked for my money back many times, and every time I do they announce that they are about finished and that I will have my album ASAP. Then that deadline passes and we are playing phone tag/email tag/text message tag for the next week. This has been the worse experience I have ever encountered with a vendor, and quite frankly it was the worse experience during my wedding.
Please, do yourself a favor and do not hire this couple. They are not honest with their services and do not uphold their contracts."

Worst Photographer Ever
Our wedding day went lovely as planned. When we got home after the honeymoon, I went online to look at my pictures. The photographer had taken a picture of our paper work that we filled out for the ceremony that he had put a nice little comment in the corner that said "picky bride, rude, every pose bothered her" By James Hughes the photographer, from Hughes Portrait Photography. It was posted on internet so everyone could see this. The funny thing was, I never even said one word to him. So how could I have been rude?

I really got cheated.
I booked my photographer kind of quick without doing a lot of research ( I guess I got excited) and gave him a deposit based on what I saw at a bridal fair and the price of packages. Now before I pay him additional money, I was doing my research and found 2 really bad reviews of this company (on yellowpages.com) They both were similar in that they claimed the picture quality was bad and looked nothing like the example albums they have in their studio. I could not find any other reviews of them. I did notice also, the photo galleries on their website are not that impressive and there are no testimonials like on some of the other photographer’s websites I have looked at. I’m thinking I should try to book one of the photographers that friends have recommended to me.

Did Not Show Up
I would not recommend ‘The Photo Booth Artist’ to anyone. I had the date planned with them for my wedding day and they did not show up.
My event planner called and they told him they overbooked and there is nothing they can do at that time but I will get a refund. I got my refund but it's not about that! A wedding is a big event and a bride pictures everything and for them to not show up! Luckily I had the best event planner and was able to get a Photo Booth to my wedding!
‘The Photo Booth Artist’ was very unprofessional and terrible quality of service! I would not recommend to anyone!
DO NOT USE The Photo Booth Artist
DO NOT USE The Photo Booth Artist: We paid these people months in advance for our graduation party in June... They contact me via email a couple of days before the party to confirm. They did not show for our party and would not answer any phone calls!!! These people are terrible; they took our money and did not deliver.
I tried to look them up on the BBB to report them but I cannot locate them. I am currently trying to get our money back; they did not give us a reason for not showing. I am very disappointed.
General review
I planned a sweet sixteen party for my daughter and rented photo booth services from the “PHOTO BOOTH ARTIST’
Positive things:
1) On time
Can been improved:
1) The photo book. Looked as it was might have picked it up from the dollar store.
2) Photo quality was alright, but tall people had their heads cut off, and short people/ kids weren't tall enough.
3) Some shots are missing.
4) Booth looked ok but not great.
I was disappointed with the service, but the attendees at the party had a good time anyway. It's my own fault for not researching the company better in advance. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
Beware of hidden fees.
Beware of hidden fees. When researching photo booths for small company party I came across 'Photo Booth Artist', their website looked as if they knew what to do and I was excited to potentially work with them. I emailed for an estimate and within 24hours got a reply listing all the packages and prices. Everything sounded great, the booth was within our price range and the booth fit our space constraints.
I replied saying we were interested and found out that there was a minimum time requirement and additional $150 fee for setup. Photo Booth Artist left no room for negotiations so after additional fees and minimums they were out of our budget. Some flexibility would have been appreciated. We did not hire Photo Booth Artist; he priced himself out of getting our business.
Testimonials may have written by owner not clients.. check web.
Don't trust the Testimonials on the Photo Booth Artist website. The testimonials can not be verified, the owner has written them.
If a web search is done for the Photo Booth Artist complaints you will see the true story. I did not trust the Testimonials so I tried to verify them and see if they were true prior to spending so much money just to be disappointed. I ended up not using the Photo Booth Artist and was very happy with the company I did hired.
I am not telling anyone not to hire the Photo Booth Artist for a party, event... Just be diligent and don't trust the Testimonials on a sellers website, note all the testimonials praise's the seller.
Music on website illegally?
Many wedding photographers use music to some degree on their Web sites. Proponents say that music helps create and enhance the emotional experience, and also serves to brand the wedding photographer’s approach to the craft.
Unfortunately, a large number of wedding photographers use music on their sites illegally, whether through a lack of familiarity with the law, a rationalization that their use is “promoting the artist,” or blatant disregard. This is ironic, since like photography, music is creative property, and the legal rights of its creators need to be respected.
And even properly licensed music has to be used carefully. The selection of songs, how and where on the site music is employed and the amount of user control are all critical factors that interact to either create a memorable experience or turn off the viewer. Plus, good pictures are good pictures with or without the music, and a bad photo isn’t going to be helped much by a song.
All of this makes the use of music an extremely important and delicate application for any wedding photographer.
Missing wedding album
If I can save even one person from having to deal with THE PHOTO BOOTH ARTIST then my review will be worth it! My husband and I met with James and his wife personally on a couple of occasions at Canyon Hills Friends Church and were provided outside samples of photographs that he claimed to be "his work".
I am unfortunately here to say that he is either using someone else’s great photos and tried to pass them off as his own professional work to get the job, or he simply just does not care what work he puts out after he has secured a deposit. He can get away with the half way decent photographs at a county fair, picnic or even at a church function. When you the customer wants real professional photographs for a Wedding don’t use THE PHOTO BOOTH ARTIST, do your homework before working with this company!! It has been the most unpleasant experience I have ever had working with any person & company.
I have yet to be provided with my picture proofs or my wedding album.....Did I mention it’s been SEVERAL MONTHS since my wedding! I felt I needed to share this with as many people as possible so your joyous wedding experience does not turn into a nightmare like mine has!!
