Unprofessional, homes are not as they appear

We had the displeasure of using this company this past weekend. When we showed up to the home it was nothing like the photo's. It was filthy, run down, with bugs, dirty pool, filthy carpets, broken doors, drapes falling down, 1/2 inch of dirt on back yard chairs, loungers, the BBQ was never cleaned and filthy. the company said they would send someone out the next day to fix it. I would not stay in that kind of filth for any amount of money. We moved to a hotel that cost us $1500 cdn The owner is rude, *** and unprofessional

Our website is a "for rent by owner" website. Very easy to read this all over the website.

That means "for rent by owner" and some folks do not understand this concept apparently. We assisted this person in getting the owner send someone over to the property right away. The cleaners and handyman worked to fix the issues in question as per the owner.

This tenant was still not happy and some people will not be no matter what.....well this is one of those people.

Again, this Pissed Website has to be shut down and amazing it is not to date. They let anyone post anything and do not takes calls or return emails.

I own Phoenix Vacation Rental homes and have zero complaints

This pissed website is the real pissed off consumer website to say the least. They got a couple links on this site and a couple signups but the site is a scam. They post anything, well they don't, they allow anyone to post anything in the world about a company. That has to be illegal and they will get shut down soon I hope. I bought this domain years ago to later find out someone in Texas owned it before me. My website is a for rent by owner website, you get rental contracts from the owner or listing agent. So there is not a way for anyone to be upset with us for any reason at all. We are helping tenants find properties and owners to find tenants. Our press release below from 7 years ago! Hello, Our company Phoenix Vacation Rental Homes has listed properties for owners since 2007 and is in good standing with everyone. We have a licenced Real Estate Brokerage located in Chandler AZ. Not Texas! Never had any ties to Texas. We finally found this website where some apparent competitor posted blatant lies about our company. We have emailed this website to remove these postings but this website does not respond to emails. So please visit our website and contact us directly, I am a licensed real estate agent in Arizona and can help you find a quality rental property so you can enjoy a vacation in Arizona. This Website You are on now is a joke to say the least

They do not answer emails or take phone calls. Anyone therefore in the world can say anything they want.....all day long too if they wish. I have no idea what this site is trying to accomplish exactly. I have used PVRH for years without a problem at all. I know the owner of the website and he is simply referring rental bookings to property owners or agents for a fee. I rented from the lady making the only complaint ever on this site in over 8 years and later found out that she used PVRH to advertise her property at no cost to her. Once done, she cancelled her good faith agreement with the owner. PVRH runs into all kinds of stuff over the years with people just using them for nothing. Free advice and work, I have told others about that property and owner since. Steve Alberta

Beware of doing business with this company!

I found the owner of Phoenix Vacation Rental Homes website is not a trustworthy ethical businessman. Beware of listing or booking your vacation home with Jon, the owner. His service skills are the worst that I have ever dealt with and he certainly does not have his customer's best interest in mind when trying to book a reservation. He does not keep the rates up-to-date so when I attempted to book a reservation, it felt more like a "bait and switch" since he would not honor the published rate. Go to a reputable website like VRBO.com or HomeAway.com and you will be far more satisfied!

I have 2 million users over 8 years on my for rent by owner website. For rent by owner means FOR RENT BY OWNER.

Do all people understand it? No some do not and never will, it must be too complicated. I have a disclaimer at the top of my website. Suggest reading it.

If you have a complaint about a property. COMPLAIN TO THE OWNER.

Some people can not be helped. Period.

Now I could message about this renter and how much of a weirdo she is all over social media sites but I have better things to do with my time. And I am sure people know about her already and how she conducts herself.

jon jon jon..... get your facts straight...

we didn't book last minute....

the so called negative review is not about me or my business I actually didn't even own the business back in 2008 when the one, and only one negative review was made..... You looked at my linkeden account and clearly shows I bought my business in 2010 so please get your facts straight and worry about your own business!!! That is obviously struggling due to your unprofessional behaviour.

The home was not what we rented it was a filthy mess....

case closed....

I am not the only one in the last year that has wrote a poor review about your business.

if you don't like this website then don't reply....

This "renter" booked last second at a discount over a major event in Phoenix. A 3 bedroom home that has had over 50 different guests in over 3 years without a single complaint.

3 YEARS WITH NO COMPLAINTS!! This person shows up at night, calls complaining of the home being dirty. I send a cleaning company over there right away but the renter left the home. The cleaning company of over 5 years said the home was just fine.

These "renters" then demand full reimbursement 100% and supposedly go stay at a resort room for twice the money. Then claim they bought food and had to throw it away. So many lies and more lies over and over. Everything they said did not make sense.

None of it. I looked them up on the internet and found negative past reviews about their own business and called them out on it. Then they go on this website which is a joke in itself posting bogus claims that I have addressed already.

This renter can not even read post comments on this website with my replies. Bogus comments on this website so she fits right in perfectly!

People stay with relatives and friends at no cost.....then show up here demanding refunds and making faulty claims.

Yes it is a fact of life. Dishonest people everywhere. I do everything possible to satisfy them and all they do is complain.

Miserable people. Amazing this site is still up posting anything in the world about other companies.

#938279

I agree with you 100% we just had the unfortunate displeasure of dealing with him. He is rude and very unprofessional.

His customer service is.... what customer service....

This person got onto another website and emailed me. I simply said it is booked and to find something else on my website that could work instead.

That is not "bait and switch", that is common sense.

BTW- This website you are on now, does not answer emails/calls so people can post whatever they want all day long about a company. I can not wait until someone sues them and shuts them down.

Interesting how my site has received over 1 million visits and this one owner has posted the only complaints in years! Why you ask?

Because she felt that I would do everything in the world for her at zero cost. I finally give her a taste of her medicine and she posts this on this website, unreal. She has no business sense to say the least. You can not expect people to work long hard hours for you at no cost.

This "owner" as she calls herself, is a family of a lot of people out of state.

I doubt they are a family at all but instead investors that purchased this home and contacted me to advertise it at my discounted pricing on several websites. My wife and I met them personally and spent several hours/days helping them. We listed the property right away which took me a full days work including placing their property at the top of my own website at zero cost to them. I sent several rental bookings to them right away and once the home was booked up, they cancelled our services.

Ruthless people to say the least and I have done business in good faith for years without a contract. However it is people like this where a contract is necessary. They kept the listing on my website but over time they stopped replying to inquiries and emails from renters/myself for no reason. I added a reminder email that owners must reply to inquiries or they will be deleted off my website.

Once this "owner" got the first reminder, she demanded to be deleted off my website for no reason whatsoever. Other sites charge annual fees and my site only charges a fee when my sites sends the owner a rental booking. This owner never told me to change her rates or I would have in a minute. This is the worst owner I have dealt with in 10 years.

Got free help, advice and then did nothing in return.

Even worse, not replying to renters emails. They will get it in the end, happens every time!

Unprofessional Bully - Owner of the Phoenix Vacation Rental Homes website!

I am an owner of one of the vacation homes listed on this website. I never asked for my home to be listed and I do not recall ever giving permission for Jon, the owner, to list my property. I certainly did not sign a contract! Two weeks ago I received my first inquiry and it just so happened that the potential renter brought to my attention that my rate listed was less than I had published on two reputable professional websites that I had contracted with. I contacted Jon to let him know that he had my rates listed incorrectly and asked him to waive his fee (20% commission) and I would absorb a small amount as well, just so we could please the potential customer. I also asked him to contact the customer to explain the problem and try to resolve to the guest's satisfaction and let me know how it was resolved. I never heard back from the owner nor the interested renter and I doubt that Jon ever contacted the customer. I waited three days and checked the Phoenix Vacation Rental Homes website and found that my rate for February 2015 still had not been corrected, showing a lower rate than I am charging. I immediately e-mailed the owner and made him aware of the problem and asked him to remove my vacation home listing from his website. He responded quickly, stating he couldn't understand why any owner would not want their property advertised for FREE! He came back with all the reasons why I should stay listed, but never addressed my request to be removed. I immediately responded and again reinforced that I only wanted to do business with courteous professional people and asked the owner to remove my listing. Jon responded that there was a $99 cancellation fee that I would need to pay via PayPal. I was shocked that a business owner that I never asked to do business with, had the audacity to charge me to remove my listing! I just read some of the other complaints on this sight and I can confirm that this owner is not an honest businessman, based on my recent experience with him.

They are on vrbo 357988 now and ruthless people. You can ask them who added their property to vrbo and homeaway at discounted rates?

That takes a lot of time. You can also ask them about their neighbor who complains to the hoa about renting there property short time. They had no clue what to do renting this new purchase, so what to do? Well you call a expert, get advice, get them to do all kinds of work for you, get discounted advertising.

Get listed free on their website and FIRE the person, right? For no reason at all. Most ruthless people I have dealt with to date, congrats! Bully, what a total joke.

Its called being used by someone and getting upset about it. Get it right!

Phoenix Travel Club in Dallas Scam

I responded to an advertisement for Phoenix Travel Club for a visit at the Galery in Dallas. Their presentation seemed very good and the savings appeared to be worth the investment. I paid the money and later determined that the savings were not significant on the Phoenix website. I requested via certified mail that they refund my money but Phoenix kept the 15% and the 299 fee. So I am out 600 dollars. I am in the process of filing letters with the Attorneys General of Texas and Indiana. I would be interested in a class action suit if that is being created.

Phoenix came to Wisconsin in February 2010 and got my husband and I. I'm usually cautious, but the line that got me was, "How do internet travel agents make a living?

Do you think they're on food stamps?" I thought that was a good point, so they got our $2000. The first thing we wanted to do is try it out and go on vacation. We planned a trip to Hawaii with less than 3 weeks notice. We actually leave next wee.

It took them several days to get us information that should take hours. Every time we called, the price of the advertised trip went up. When we got the confirmation of the trip, it was on FunJet letterhead. Yesterday I checked around and found I could book the exact trip elsewhere for $150/person less!

Why would I pay $2000 for higher trip fees and *** service? I will despute the charges AFTER my vacation.

Our parents were contacted but didn't meet the income guidelines; so they got to us; we went to the presentation and just like the rest of you were nearly ready to be scammed but I've been a paralegal for over 12 years and something didn't smell right to me; too good to be true, the "offices" they brought you into had no phones, computers, and they quickly were grabbing up all the paperwork as fast as they passed it out; the car salesman like presenter who had the pitch that didn't miss a beat, the way they so quickly were taking $1000 off the initial cost. And, then when we said we were interested but weren't sure about the money they offered it to us for a two year period for only $600!

We said, we wanted to think about it; but we were all excited...thinking about the savings. When we got home and inspected our $1000 gift certificate for items, my suspicions came to light and saw you could get these at a dollar store or from the 70's!!! Plus you have to pay extraordinary shipping charges on each item selected most of which were over $10 each. It goes on and on.

STAY AWAY!!!!!

REPORT THEM!!!!!! DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!!!!

:(

These scam letters are coming to Charleston, SC. I got one today in my mail.

#91386

The info has been most helpful. I received a plain envelope postmarked Phoenix AZ.

The letter had a Fisher Wells logo buto no address and only a 800 number to call. Offered 2 roundtrip airline tickets with a value of up to $1400. Letter signed by Cynthia Hart, Vice President, Travel Awards Division. I call for further info.

Was scheduled for a meeting on 12/08/09. I do believe they can start without us.

They are using AIE Vacations at 5601 Bridge St., Fort Worth, TX 76112. Thanks and beware.

#81345

We got scammed in Fort Worth for 6000.00...how do you get in touch with those of you who want to file a class action law suit. We know a person in south Texas who is going to coordinate it with a judge who can put us in touch with a lawyer to hopefully take it on a contingency fee.

I am very sorry to all that have been scammed by this company or any of the other travel club scams out there. Royal Palms is owned by a man named Adrian Miller who lives in Grapevine.

He has been involved in almost every travel club scam to hit DFW for the last 8 years or so. You are very correct in the fact that you can get much better deals on the internet for all your travel needs. Adrian has been involved with such companies as Suncountry travel, Horizon Travel, Beachcomber vacations, Castaway vacation club and many more. A few of these companies have been completely shut down by various Attorney Generals and those that are still opperating are being investigated in numerous different states.

Adrians phone number is (972) 971-****. The best way to get your money back from this travel club scam is to dispute the charges with your credit card company and tell them you did not recieve the product you were promised. It is time we all stand up and take down these scammers and make them get real jobs like everyone else. Another way to get your money back is to make signs and flyers and hand them out in front of the building they are doing business in.

Adrian and his cronies will quickly try to get you to calm down and refund your money so that you dont mess up his chances to scam all his new potential targets as they walk in. If you have more questions about how these guys opperate please leave your questions here and i will try to respond the best I can.

My husband and I were also scammed by these *** artists this last weekend. We have already sent the membership materials back with a cancellation letter and put the charge on our credit card in dispute.

Ann, I'd be very interested in hearing how you were able to get a full refund. I am thinking of positioning myself out side of Galleria Tower One on a regular basis to warn others about their business practices.

I did find that Hines Limited Partnership is the leasing agent for Galleria Towers and I plan to approach them about their tenant to see if I can get the actual names of the principals as they appear on the lease. That is required to file in Dallas County small claims court which I am considering doing (we've discussed this situation with a friend who is an attorney). Marcy

#34581

It took some time, but I got my money refunded from the travel club. I think the company wanted me to"go away." One can find phone numbers on line of so called presidents, directors, etc. Just be prepared to be cussed out and threatened.

Phoenix Vacations has committed fraud taken thousands of my dollars.

phoenix vacations is nothing but a scam. My wife and I were "invited" called many times to attend a presentation at the galleria mall in Dallas. After feeling like we didn't want to do it my wife convinced me to go because of the free trips they were offering and we lived so close. however, the presentation was too good to be true and offered discounts on hotels, motels, condominiums and cruises. Reluctently we bought into the program and was told that we had 3 days to return the package well we tried to return the package and had to mail a kit to one state fax a cancelation letter to another state and jump through hoops to cancel a product we felt uncomfortable with and after reviewing the informatino on the internet it comes to find out this company changes names more than Prince. They have gone by somerset, funseekers, castaways vacation club, Beachcombers vacations. I told the gentleman on the phone I did not want the product and he told me he would make it right the next day when I called I was told i was out of my 3 day right of recision and owned the product and they would be happy to send me back my kit at my expense. Confused I asked him why he told me he would make it right and I was told he did make it right and I was now a part of a fantastic travel club that could save thousands of dollars. I requested my money back again and was given two choices: Keep the membership and be happy or keep the membership and be unhappy, but either way I couldn't get my money back and had I been able to it would have cost me over a thousand dollars to cancel do to the fine print that says they charge a 15% restocking fee and a one time 299 application fee. I could see the application fee and called it a day but this basically is deceptive trade practices for which I am getting a hold of the attorney general the FTC and the Dallas District attorney's office to see what can be done. Any suggestions? anyone here want to join me in a class action lawsuit to get our money back from these scam artists? The owner has been ran out of several states for committing these same travel frauds. Someone has to stop them.. Phoenix vacations is associated with Castaways travel services, Beachcombers vacations, funseekers and somerset vacations all of which have been forced out of business or just changed their name to avoid the bad publicity.

In the beginning I told them NO, but they insisted that I was getting the best deal and not to tell anyone my special price. I lost $3000.00.

I called the next day to cancel, but I was told that the owner will call me back....know one never did, so I called again. I was told it was too late to cancel.

This is a BOGGUS business that scam people out of their money. I have tried to book travel, but know one seems to help....you have to wait for days, before anyone call you back and sometime they don't call you back.

#31167

Dawn,

Did you get your money back? If I see another posting from you, maybe I can give you suggestions. In what city did you go for a presentation?

Goodluck

#31164

If possible, return to the scene of the crime...where you heard the presentation. Try taking a police office with you.

These people are crooks, but they don't know how to deal with a complaint in a professional manner. They do NOT want their next victums to hear any dicussion about their scams.

#29888

I understand that those unfortunate people who were pressured to join are unhappy and can't get their money back.

What I want to know is, did they get the cash awards, flat screen TV's, and gas vouchers for attending the presentation? Nobody has mentioned that yet.

#29383

I am embarrassed to say My husband and I lost 4500.00 that was to be 0% for six months and now I am billed finance charges. I call Phoenix vacations to fix the situation and both phone #s are no longer in service.

I also confirmed on my phone bill they are the same phone# I spoke to them at a month ago. I was uncomfortable right after we somehow got convinced into the purchase that was not only for us but our family. I also wanted to cancel and show up in front of the office to tell others to stay away. I wish I would have found this site 1st.

I would be happy to join a class action lawsuit against phoenix vacations - I also spoke with an Adam and have the name of Bill Care who was the Manager and his Wife Jody (who's cell phone# still works, 972-971-****. Do you think I will get a call back?

#27398

My husband and I lost $3000.00. We are teachers, we are not dumb people, but did a very dumb thing.

We had to sign a paper stating we could not have the 3 day cancellation in our state of WI. We went back the next day, we were screamed at, called names. Total opposite of the day before. We did let people know about them on their way into the presentation.

Two couples walked out. (happy about that) They called the police. My husband and I stayed calm the whole while. They told the police we were threatening them.

Total lies. The police said they have been called to that place of business before. Has anyone ever gone to the Going Places Travel in Grand Chute Wi?

Please respond back. Thank you
