Disgusted
I bought a Chevy express van in 2016, a 2014 van I purchased an alarm remote starter, I have been taking the van back and forth for 3 years come to find out it was the alarm remote starter. They took it vCard out but will not reimburse me my money for what I paid for the alarm remote starter, plus they made me buy a battery which the alarm starter was draining, and that does not top it off while the van was in their care someone tried to cut off my converter. I'm so disgusted with them I will never ever buy another car or van from them and I will tell all my family and friends not to.

Fraud at its Finest
On August 1, 2019, following extensive damage to the underside of our popup hybrid Cub camper on the highway the day before, we brought our camper to Phillips RV. We specifically told them we wanted 2 repairs made: water pump and heater.
The service rep, Jeff Workman, told us that they found more wiring damage that needed repair – I had told them they could just staple the wires out of the way; we were not concerned about the cosmetics (after all, we are camping…). Jeff mentioned we could apply the insurance money to a new one, especially after they had found “more extensive wiring damage” than expected. We declined as we like our camper – and it is paid for. After spending 7 hours in the dealership, we immediately departed for our destination, Michigan.
When we reached our destination at 11PM, setting up in the dark, we realize that NEITHER the water pump NOR the heater had been fixed. Seven hours in the dealership and $347.22 later – what we asked for WAS NOT FIXED.
The following morning, we were able to investigate the camper to try to see what may have been missed. Imagine our SHOCK to find two disconnected and exposed (one red, one yellow) wires by the heater/thermostat. The next day, we also found a ONE AMP fuse was placed in the fuse connector for the water pump.
Since everything else in the camper required a 15 – 30 amp fuse, and we had a 15 amp fuse, I replaced it to check for improvement. Shockingly, IT WORKED.
When I called the next day, Jeff was EXCEPTIONALLY RUDE and HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL. He told us it was OUR responsibility to be sure everything is working before we left the parking lot.
Jeff told us we needed to bring the camper BACK TO THEM for them to fix it. There was NO WAY we would go back to the dealership since they could not correctly fix the problem in the 6 hours they had the camper in the shop when we only asked for 2 things to be fixed, and those 2 things were not fixed.

Verified Reviewer | Frankfort, IllinoisCustomer since 1986 ordered off property
I had been a Customer of Phillips Chevrolet for 31 years, first purchasing a 1987 S-10 Pick-Up Truck in late 1986. In the past 4 years I've spent $100,000+ on 3 new Vehicles & 1 used vehicle.
In the interim, I've brought my Son, Daughter, Brother and 3 Co-Workers there who purchased new vehicles. I've never had a problem with Phillips until the Strike in 2017. I called Service to bring my car in, due to the "Service Engine" light. They would not take it in due to the Strike, giving me a 3 week later Appt.
Then they rescheduled it again. When I finally got the car in, the 36,000 mi Warranty had expired. I paid the $100 Co-Pay per the Extended Service Warranty. They told me it was the "Evaporative System" and I had to leave the Car.
They refused to extend a Loaner as they promised when selling the Warranty. They refused to give me a Courtesy Ride Home, citing "the rules have changed". I had to take a Cab back to Manhattan and again a Cab ride back. Two days of work missed.
I paid the $100 Co-Pay and left for home. Fifteen minutes later, the Service Engine light came on again. I called them immediately to inform. They said I had to make another Appt since the car was drivable.
I had to wait almost 3 weeks (2 weeks 4 days) for the next Appt. Again, I had to take another day off. They told me they found an additional leak in the "Evaporative System" and repaired it. On the way home the Service Engine light came on again.
They wouldn't let me return because the car was drivable. Again, a 3 week Appt. I had to take another day off for the Appt. This time they said, the light went out so there's nothing to fix; "if it happens again take another day off and bring it back"; and, I would have to make another $100 Warranty Co-Pay!!!
! I hollered, *** no! Fix my Car. Manager Dan Kachinski ordered me off the Company premises.
I went outdoors and called the Frankfort Police Dept (Dec 2017) who took a detailed report. As I entered my vehicle, the Service Engine Light Came on again, witnessed by the Police. They recommended that I contact General Motors Corporate, which I did. An ON-STAR remote diagnosis informed me the problem was again, in the "Evaporative System".
Phillips never repaired it or attempted to repair it. They lied. GM directed me to HAWK Chevrolet in Joliet who repaired the vehicle and I've had NO other problems. None of my Friends, Family members nor I will ever purchase a vehicle at Phillips Chevrolet again.
NEVER.

Pricing was incredibly expensive
I had an appointment to bring my vehicle in for service. I believe it needed a tune-up because I purchased it brand new and it was now at a 100k miles.
Well the tune-up consisted of 6 spark plugs, oil change and another item that cost $50 . The car is a 2014 Impala and I was originally told that it would be $398 which I feel is still very expensive for spark plugs and an oil change. When I want to pick up the vehicle the price was $670. I do not understand how I can be charged $670 for oil change, six spark plugs and some type of filter that cost $50.
The customer service person did discount the bill which came out to $550, which I think is still very, very expensive for the service that I received. Will not go back to Phillips for service because the pricing was not giving up front and the pricing is outrageous.
Don't Bother!
I went through Car Gurus for a car that had the exact specifications I was looking for, great price structure. When they sent me the quote, which had all fees added up, it was still a great price.
I put a deposit down, bought a plane ticket, requested the certified check for the purchase and less than a few hours later, they told me they had made an "error" on the price and it was going to cost $3,000 more.
Almost forgot the best part, the car was listed as "NEW" and it had over 2,000 miles on it - sales person had been driving it as a personal car. WALK AWAY BEFORE YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE EXPLODES!

Ripoff & sabotaged
Well i took my 2014 chevy impala in to phillips chevrolet on torrance ave. in lansing. My airbag light was on so guessed it was:nt going to be much ,but when i got there they told me it would be 150.00 dollars just to find out the problem now mind i had no other lights on .So after sitting their waiting to see how much it would be a guy name ryan come out and tell me its going to cost 299.00 dollars for to repair a loose harness wire but theres no cost for parts. That was a red flag for me im not no certified machanic but come on 299.00 for ajob that only took them 25 minutes to repair thats just abig rip off. But i told them to go ahead and fix it and give a oil change with a visual inspection and tire rotation for a extra 52.00 dollars. So that brought my total to 352.00 for a oil change and a loose harness wire right,so i left the dealer and soon as i left 10 minutes later my check engine light pops on i had"nt seen my check engine light on at all until they sabotaged my car i guess hoping would"nt think much of and come back and spend more money. But i went and all they said was we did"nt touch nothing in that area put some little gadget on it and just erase the light but not fix what ever made it come in the first place im just really pissed off at this service department that was on 10-23-2017.Still waiting to here from manager

Resolved: Here we go again!!
I wrote a review back in November of 2015 regarding my mother's purchase of a 2011 Chevy Cruze. My mom is a senior citizen (77) years old. Well from the start she had problems, she and her female neighbor went to buy the car,she wanted to surprise me and go on her own, trying to hold on to her independence. First of all there were dings that had to be removed so she did not take delivery right away. When the car was ready, I went with her to pick the car up. My mother was told her original contract had been shredded! RED FLAG for me, and she had to sign a new one. I questioned and they gave some lame excuse as to how it happened. She was only given one key and when she asked for the other key was told they had to track down the previous owner and get it. RED FLAG!! She finally got a key at a charge of $91.00. I fought to get her money back. After being ignored and left in an office I finally got her money back. My mother is paying $1600.00 for an extend warranty which I was told covers (Everything) bumper to bumper. I was told this by the general manager (Mark Catuara) over the phone after I lodged my first complaint. Well yesterday 04/09/2016 my mother was left stranded by her chevy cruse when the battery died. Thank God she was at O'REILLY auto parts store buying a cleaning solution. The manager there checked her battery and said it was bad. The manager called Phillips for my mom and was told by some one named Lexus that her warranty was expired and there was no manager or anyone on duty to help her! Well I know saturday is a dealership's busiest day, there is a manager on duty. My mother paid $189.00 for a battery even though she has an extended warranty. I don't understand. What is the $1600.00 for??? I was told it covered everything!! I don't think a car battery should be shot in six months of ownership. My mother has been through a lot in the last 9 months, losing her son and mother back to back. Her purchasing of the car was suppose to cheer her up some but it's been one thing after another. I feel she should be reimbursed for the battery and her warranty explained line by line. If my mother is not treated fairly, I will be forced to go to the via the internet and news media. I have obtained legal counsel.Sincerely Mrs. C Mcclurkin.

Resolved: Phillips Chevrolet - Chevrolet Cruze Review from Country Club Hills, Illinois
My mother who is a senior citizen bought a chevy cruse from the Phillips store in Lansing Illinois. She went without me or my husband much to my dismay. The purchase was made about late October 2015.
First the car couldn't be delivered because it had dents or dings so mu mother had to wait about a week to pick it up.After she got the car she was told she needed to come in and sign a new contract be her contract had been shredded. Shredded really how do you accidentally shred a legal contract. Well I went with my mom to see what the heck was going on. They praised her and called her grandma like they really cared about her.
I could not get pass the shredded contract however. I hsd questions about the oringal contract and if the amounts were the same since I was not there with her when she purchases the car. Of course they said yes. My mother was given only one key to the vehicle and whrn asked gor the spare key we wrte told they have to find the original owner and get the the key from them.
Well time went by still no key. My mother goes to the dealership and they cut a key for her and charge her $90.41!!! I was upset and called and demanded she be refunded a key she should have been given at no charge. I spoke to her saleman on the phone who told me it was a used car that's why it had one key.
I told him I have purchased used cars before and akways got two keys at no charge. He said he had to talk to the, manager to see if she could be refunded, when I asked to speak to the manager the salesman said sure and then proceeded to hang up on me. I called back and the salesman told me to bring the receipt in for the refund. I said I am comming in one hour this was on a Saturday he said ok.
I get there abd speak to a manager who tells me no one is there to cut me a check wait till Monday. I informed him mu mother paid cash and that her salesman told me I could come today!!!. Once again Walter tge manager said sorry nowat. I said take her money out of petty cash he still said no because he needed a paper trail.
I said I have her receipt, he still said no and that he would mail a check on Monday. I asked for the general manager and Walter said he would go get hom but instead left me in the tinu office and never came back. He simply went back to his desk and forgot about me. Now I am really upset, I go and try and fond the general manager and is stopped by the business manager.Tom is his name and he offered to help me.
He could see how upset I was so he took me to an office in the back.I explained the shredded contract, asked why was my mother being charged $200.00 for ally maintanece,$500.00 for GAP insurance that was not explained to her and why did she have to pay for a key, and the $1650.00 warranty does not specify what is covered. Well Tom said he could take those charges off but that her note would not be lowered. What? why not?
if less is being financed? Tom told me to call PNC bank and then call him why???? What I am going to do is contact the owner of Phillips chevorlet Mr. Curtis Pascarella and see if he cares about his customers and if not I will have my attorney look into this matter.
My mother needs to have her contract redone and hopefully not shredded again. On behalf of my mother Sandra Leonard, Sincerly Mrs.C McClurkin.
Violation of 5 day return policy
On 12/31/2012, I made an attempt to purchase an 2013, Chevrolet Camaro from Phillips Chevrolet. At that time I was more less cohered into choosing an 2013 Chevy Malibu and was told that I had 5 days to return the vehicle if I was not satisfied for any reason.
On the 2nd day of January 2013, I told salesman Sam Darwish that I was not satisfied with the vehicle and I would like to return it. Of course Sam went on to make promise"s of being able to place me in a new Camaro 1 yearfrom date and that I should keep the vehicle. I spoke with Sam on the 3rd and 4th day of January about returning the vehicle and was denied. On February 16,2013, I was offered to return the 2013 Malibu alone with a 3000.00 down payment to purchase an 2013 Camaro 1LS which list at 23,999.00.
The 2013 Malibu list at 26999.00, which list as 3000 less than the vehicle that I am trying to return for. Therefore a greater down payment should not be required.
Sold vehicle out from under us.
We committed to purchasing a Chevy Tahoe from Phillips Auto on 920 S. Main Street Payette, ID 83661 2**-**2-2186 Fax: 208-642-****.
After several telephone conversations with the salesman and the owner of the company discussing the purchase of the vehicle last week and the committment on our part the vehicle in question was sold to some one else prior to us signing the papers and paying for said vehicle. In addition we offered to place a deposit so that such a thing as this would not happen, and they decined. They said that they trusted us in the fact that we had full intentions to buy said vehicle. On Monday my wife called to confirm the deal and the owner of the company stated that there was another couple there and they were waiting to see if thier loan application went thru so that they could purchase the Tahoe. The owner informed my wife that he would know with-in the hour if they had been approved or not.
Some 2 plus hours later and no response, I called and talked to the owner and he said that he was sorry but that the Tahoe was sold. I know that there is little that we can count on in this world these days, and now I guess that as a consumer we can not trust anyone especially when they say they trust you and you can trust them. Just one more piece of evidence that used car salesmen and Dealer/Owner's are truely liars. So consumers beware and be cautious when not only purchasing a vehicle, but in the purchase of anything that you go to purchase.
As a final thought, I believe that this company should not be allowed to do business in Idaho or anywhere else on this earth.
