PHH Mortgage - Hurricane Claim taking more than 7 years to resolve

PHH MORTGAGE SERVICES customer service is the worst. It has taken more than 7 years to process a reimbursement on Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.

They have lost case documentation. They make you repeat information every time you call. They have delayed a due inspection. They have held our insurance claim check almost 1 year without justification.

Always claiming it's our fault. Falsely. And always sending customers to a website that looses documents. You upload a document today.

They delete the document tomorrow. And a never ending cycle starts over and over. You are only allowed to resubmit via FAX which in 2024 is an almost UNEXISTANT METHOD, and won't allow emails. Only regular mail which from PR to their USA address, takes longer to delay process on purpose.

They have taken away many properties in Puerto Rico from elderly customers, breaking the law and breaking customers good faith agreements. I strongly recommend people TO never use PHH MORTGAGE SERVICES, nor its original "Reverse Mortgage Solutions" nor any other affiliate business for reverse mortgage.

Very dissatisfied

Can I actually speak to someone in the US?! Is that too much to ask? I was told I couldnt speak to a manager or someone in the lien department. I could only email them and it might take them 2 weeks to respond. Really?! I am trying to sell my house and they made a mistake over two decades ago by not recording a satisfaction letter with the county. Now this is holding up the sale and it seems there is nothing I can do until they decide to email me back. I am so upset.

Incompetent Escrow Department

PHH failed to make my flood insurance payment even after I called 3 weeks ahead of the due date to ensure they had a check on the way. They assured me they were on top of it and not to worry. On the day payment was due flood insurance company called and had not received payment. Got PHH on the phone with the flood insurance company. PHH could not wire them the money so I had to pay on the spot to avoid cancellation of the policy. It was agreed on the call that PHH would issue me a refund directly since I had to pay it. They failed to do so. They sent the check to the flood insurance company by mistake. Flood insurance company takes 8 weeks to refund the check to PHH. PHH told me they would put a stop payment on the check and that it would be back in my escrow in 2-3 business days. 8 days later they still have not put funds back in my escrow. I have been on hold for over 5 hours the last 3 days trying to correct. Holding again right now for 63 min waiting for an "escalation manager" and still nothing. Have tried twice to leave messages for a call back and nothing. Have had 2 employees tell me how embarrassed they were. No wonder they are in the top 5 worst mortgage lender list.

They make constant mistakes and they promise to fix them. But unless you have weeks to keep on calling them, waiting on hold after speaking with someone who cannot assist so they have to transfer the call , but after 17 minutes several times they keep on Accidentally disconnecting the call . So now Im on week 3 and my extra payment which was supposed to go into principle still is in for future payments . STAY AWAY FROM THEM THEY ARE TOTALLY THE ONE OF THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL MORTGAGE COMPANY TO DEAL WITH .

Request money from line of credit

On December 13 2021 I faxed a request for line of credit for 600.00. The turn around time for this is listed as 3 to 5 days. I called on December 14 to make sure they received the fax. I was finally able to speak to a gentleman who said they had received it.He also mentioned they had many requests to fill but I would receive the money before Christmas. Today is December 28 & I'm still waiting for the money. I called the office on December 27 & was told the request would be faxed to a supervisor in that Department. The lady I spoke with stated that was all she could do and I just have to wait. This is very frustrating and I would like to know who else could help with this problem.

They just are lame and cant get things right. The final problem has bee I have been trying to pay off my mortgage but when I request a pay out some payments are missing , my extra payments that supposed to be applied to my principle they put it on future mortgage payments but it takes weeks to clear it up There is so much more but STAY CLEAR OF THRM !!
