Pettibone RV refuses to refund my deposit of $1000 after I considered purchasing a unit from them pending financing, term, payment, rate and inspection of my unit being traded which was never brought on si. They then pulled my credit for two financial institutions, two hard inquiries on my credit when it should have only been one as I knew it would be approved overall with my credit score and history. The problem is the dealer was unable to approve financing based on the original terms discussed. I contacted Pettibone RV and Northshore Bank and they increased the rate, the payment was higher and on top of that they wanted an additional $1800 down payment which was not going to happen. I then found out the unit I was looking at was damaged and have actual photos of that damage. I informed Pettibone RV of all this and they informed me they will not refund my $1000 deposit because they could have had other buyers. My question then is what was the purpose of a deposit until the financing terms came back to know if I qualified and under what guidelines? I approached this on a professional level and the two owners refuse to refund this deposit. These practices are very deceptive and I have worked for many financial organizations and never have seen this kind of behavior. Most dealerships use a purchase order form and their wording is this may be a binding contract and you may lose any deposits if you do not perform to according to its items. How is this possible when the financing terms changed, it was pending financing and the requirement of an additional down payment occurred? If the dealership is unable to approve financing on the original terms discussed and if the dealership and consumer both understand that financing would be required which was the case the consumer will recover the deposit. Under these circumstances the consumer and the dealer agreed that there would be no purchase unless there was financing and if the financing falls through or terms change the deposit is refunded. The same is true if the terms of financing are different from what the consumer and dealer discussed before the deposit was paid which is also the case here since they are now requiring another $1800 down payment on top of the initial deposit of $1000. This also applied to interest rate and payment which are now higher overall from first discussion and before the deposit was placed. It also applies if the dealership says that the consumer needs to find a co-signer or pay a larger down payment which again is the case here with a larger down payment of $1800 required for qualification of financing. This dealer is very deceptive, unprofessional and unfair in their practices and sales techniques. They refuse to refund my deposit due to the fact I don't qualify for financing and the requirement of additional down payment needed for this financing. I am performing my initial steps here for resolution before contacting my legal counsel. I can not understand how companies or individuals can get away with such corrupt business practices toward consumers. Pettibone RV needs to be investigated for these practices. I am trying to do what I can by reporting these actions to every agency I can and will continue to pursue this until it is resolved with the refund of my deposit in the amount of $1000. I will not give into these kind of corrupt business practices. https://www.facebook.com/Pettibone-RV-Sales-120474****35966/

Gray Wolf 27' BH Travel Trailer

Once ordered in January 2013 at a Sportsmen show case and the La Crosse Center, we were very happy with the trailer showd on site. We paid total amount for the new trailer that day. On April 12th We got a call that our camper has arrrived, once traveling 60 miles, we found out that our camper DID NOT arrive, we knew because no extra's that we paid for was on this camper. The dealer was extremly rude and said it was ours and that he would cut the price of missing parts. Finally a worker called the main office and found out that our trailer has not been sent out yet. We left to wait for the trailer to arrive. The next day we get another call that our camper did arrive that day and will be ready to pick up the following Tuesday. We traveled back to the RV center and waited for the final maintenance to be completed and traveled home. The next day we started to clean up the unbelievable messes that was left from the manufacturing dept. Steel cuttings all throughout the outside cabinets, nails/staples poking through the toe section of the eating table, smeared puddy throughout the trailer where nails have been used. Other things that cannot be cleaned is the sliding windows - everyone of them had finger prints on the inside of the windows that can not be removed to be cleaned. Very poor housekeeping on a finished product! Will never ever do a deal with Pettibone RV in La Crescent, MN.

I have to agree with this post, this company is a joke and they are very rude. The owners don't care about the consumer at all.

They screwed me out of $1000 deposit.

Stay away if your smart. They only post positive reviews on things like Facebook and are very deceptive.
