My daughter is a very sick little girl. She has been battling a terminal illness for some time. She loves playing Petpet Park online. It has been one of her favorite ways to socialize since she got sick. She can still run and play on there like she used to be able to do in real life. She has spent quite a bit of money on this website. We haven't really minded because it makes her happy. She was buying $10 worth of Nick Cash (dollars you can use in the game) when we got a system error telling her there was a problem with the transaction, to try again later. Checked with my card issuer to make sure the credit card was okay. Everything was fine there. Tried again to buy the Nick Cash. Same error. Checked my card balance later that day when a transaction at the gas station didn't go through--guess what?! Petpet Park had a transaction pending for $20--so both transactions had gone through. No problem. Glad it worked out....But when we checked her Petpet Park account, she hadn't received what she'd paid for. So we contacted their customer service (terrible customer service, by the way--they don't care AT ALL), and they said the money was still on the card, that their system had rejected the transaction (nothing wrong with our card though they said) and the money would be back on the card in a few days. After 2 weeks, the money eventually came back. By this time, my sick daughter was fairly depressed about being scammed for $20, but she perked up when the money was returned to the card--minus a $3 fee from the card issuer because it was a prepaid card with fees associated with it. Well, she was very disappointed this happened, because money is not easy to come by when you are only 11 years old and very sick. But she decided she would go ahead and get $15 worth since that was what she could buy with what she had left. So we tried again. I couldn't believe it!! They took her money again. And she got the same exact error message--on a completely different computer this time!! Customer service keeps telling me it's not a problem on their end--but if you do any research online you will see it is a very common occurrence during checkout for them. The messages I get back from their company are very canned and callous. Not much sympathy from them, even though they just stole money from a very sick little kid. The messages from them just get snottier and snottier. I am at the point where I am going to take legal action and report them to the better business bureau. At this point, it's not about the money any more. It's about how they've treated my little girl. If I treated their child like that, I guarantee they would be up in arms about it!! This company is fraudulent and steals from children with absolutely no remorse!! Do not do any business with them and for God's sake, don't let your kids spend ANY money there. They will scam you and be rude to you for calling them out on it.
