Perfect Tax - Tax Filling Review

Company takes money every month and money for lot of their service in advance. Once the money is with them nothing happens.

Thier tax filling system is worst, you only get queries from IRS. They forget to file lot of needed tax forms and as a customer you have to suffer.

You keep calling them and no one responds. Iam fed up with them and trying to get my money back. Every time you stop by thier office, no one is their on time.

Instead of trying to solve the issue, they ask more money, false promises and literally no service.

Not sure how is this company even in service. Law should be filled against such fraud company.

Perfect Tax - Tax Returns Review

Stay away from PerfectTax filing services company in DFW area. This company advertises a lot on the local FM radio to attract mostly south asian population. I went there after listening to the advertisement on radio show. The initial contact person took all the details and asked me to pay the amount in full. I resisted and paid only 50% but later they called me back and took the rest of the money as well before even starting the work. (They assign it to some Accountant in team) I submitted all the requested documents to the online portal and as suggested waited for about 2 weeks. I didnt get any calls or email from them or asking for more information or progress on the case.

After sending emails few times the accountant replied back saying it will be ready in a week. but that didnt happen and I went there in person this time and he printed out a draft copy of the taxes. It was a just plain taxes nothing out of box or new which they claim on radio. And when i reviewed there were several mistakes done on the taxes. I did a second review with a different tax firm and they could file on the same day and reduced my taxes as well. The due date of April15 was approaching and after sending several emails I dont get any reply back from these folks. And I met the director along with accountant after the due date of April 15 and asked for refund of money as they couldnt file it on time. The lady refused to give any sought of refund claiming that they prepared the draft and that took them time. I asked her to give atleast partial refund and again she refused and also the prices they quote are very high over 200% than the other tax firm.

Overall this company has zero customer service experience and never reply to any emails (leave alone getting them on hold over phone) PLEASE check references properly before going to this firm. My personal experience is very bad and I would rate them a F.

Thanks,

Perfect Tax - Tax Returns Review from Dallas, Texas

In 2013 I got letter from the IRS about my 2010 Taxes saying I have to pay more taxes and penalties because perfect tax has messed up my tax return so much. I absolutely hate Mahesh , Sam and their team. When you try to contact over the phone which they never answer and voice mail is full. If you leave message with front desk which they never call back. I hate---------------------------------------------- so much.

Incorporation fees: Basic charges of $170 for including Incorporation, EIN and Entity Classification (It is much lower compared fees charged by several websites and far better in view of personalized Articles and Capital clauses). Government fee is $308. Corporate Kit which is optional is $80.

They want to charge all this fees.

This tax consulting company is one of the most unprofessional companies. To lure business and charge money, the company will say that everything is easy in this world and they can do it in days.

But when you pay the money and start working with them , you will realize the mistake.

But, by then you might have revealed your credentials. Thus, think umpteen times before you start using them as the tax consulting company.

Resolved: Perfect Tax - Cpa Review from San Marcos, Texas

I signed a contract with Mahesh Thakkar, CPA, Dallas, Texas late last year. He demanded that I pay all the money (about $4500) in advance which I did. That was a huge mistake on my part. In order to get any work done, I had to repeatedly keep calling them, yelling and screaming at them. Since it was Tax time, I had little choice but to try and file my taxes and finish 2010 accounting part and try to move on. With a terrible eperience with their sevices and spending countless hours of dealing with them over the phone, I told them that I do not want to work with them and they need to return $531 which was supposed to be for bookkeeping services for January 2011 onwards which they have never performed.

But they are flat out refusing to refund that money. Not only that, but I signed a 3 year contract for Tax planning services ($2500 per year). I already paid $2500 for 2010. Now they are claiming that I owe them $5000 for 2011 and 2012 per the contract even though no services have been provided. I have recived collection calls from them demanding that I pay for bookkeeping services for 2011 even though no work has been performed.

Mahesh Thakkar's office is demanding money for which services have not been provided. I am pretty sure that is considered illegal.

Fraud I run you *** I am legit. You can't answer the claims against you.

Why don't you tell these people that you blackmail people. Very bad.

If you are really professional people you *** Sam you would have moved on. Complain about it when they find out that you tried to pay me nothing and make me work for free I will have you investigated you bloody slime.

Latrece Mis

These people have tried to bully and intimidate. They know they are a fraud and they can't do anything but intimidate let them.

I will file complaint on them.

They tried to call my number and after I told them stop I had to say I will call police. They are crazy.

Guest

Just the other day I interviewed with these people. 3 years ago that *** Sam *** tried to make me look like a fool.

I do have a Masters in Accounting but economy has been rough and I have forgotten alot but I am not ***. I flunked a financial exam that I took and asked him about that he said you can take it again used it as an excuse not to hire me. This *** then said at that time that I couldn't look at the correct answers and or study for it again. This time they had an add for preparer and in the add suggested that moderate experience was sufficient.

They did not specify in the add that Foreign Tax or any of those issues would come up. When I reinterviewed again with these *** sucking sand *** they then tried to make me look ***. I honestly believe had I had the experience and I become CPA that Sam still would have tried to *** on me. He is an envious *** of what I have because I don't care how smart the *** thinks he is he will never come close to being CPA.

In any event after trying to make me look like a fool they then ask me to work for free for 2 weeks and tell me I can't have pay normalized till 90 days.

I sware I wanted to literally kill those people. They are a *** scam and I pray to god that somehow they go bankrupt and are exposed for what they are.

Guest

How come this scam company is fooling people and operating in US. They tell colorful stories before you pay the money.

They finally charge your credit card and run away. Need to file a lawsuit against this company.

Why you did not contact IRS or Texas Board and explained what happened?

Guest

This is a unprofessional tax consultant company. They demand the money at the forefront, give false information with never a sound advice and then will not show-up or follow up with the services.

They will ask you to prepare everything from statements to put the data in the spreadsheet. The question arises - If I am paying and still doing the work then why am I paying them for their services.

I made a terrible mistake of going to them. Please think 100 times before approaching this tax consulting company.

Guest

I concur with all of those comments here. I wasted so much of my time waiting in their offices for my appointments.

It is a poorly run organization and not professional at all. Their followups were quite good until I paid the money before any work was done. There were several amateurish mistakes on my tax return, IRS form filing, etc.

In the end it was not worth the money they saved me. STAY AWAY

Guest

The poor staff working there is so disgruntled, they happily reveal your business and money secrets to anyone they meet in the park. Be careful of this bigshot business. THey are making money at your expense.

Guest

This company is highly unethical, very aggressive , pushy. They will collect your money and then give very little service.

They are big liars. They advertise and make huge claims on Funasia radio. They do have a very big office and big staff of college kids. But it is due to their huge advertisement, they are able to convince most people that their services are worth it.My rule of thumb is that if the main CPA/owner does not have the time to talk to you personally with full attention, then it is not worth it.

Will you ever go to a doctor's office, pay the doctor's fees and then let only the nurse or the nurse assistant treat you ? Why would you go to a CPA if he himself does not have time for you because he has overpromised to hundreds and thousands of clients.

Guest

Totally agree with the comments above, this company is more of an aggressive sales oriented than accounting. They use scare tactics to pull customers in.

I spoke to Sam over the phone and he wanted me to pay him $250 for the initial meeting with him and I was like ef that.. This company is full of incompetant people and absolutely rubbish.

Please do yourself a huge favor and do not get into their trap. Their account managers won't respond to your emails and calls. They make huge mistakes in the tax returns.

Due to their lack of attention, they missed sending my company registration paperwork to !RS and now I am being audited by !RS. When I asked them to help, they are ignoring my calls and emails.

Folks, you work hard to earn money do not waste it on these thugs and idiots at Perfect Tax.

They are big fraud. They have several tax scam schemes.

They setup fake companies to shift income, illegal charitable trust & LLC along with insurance that doesn’t do any charitable work (they call it multiplex) and Captive insurance companies (complex strategy).

Be aware of all these Tax scams. Most of their clients are being audited by IRS.

Sam Thakkar is the biggest Scam Artist Around.

He lies to you, so you can buy these products then you will get audited.

I dare you to go around and ask how many people in Dallas have been audited because of Sam Thakkar.

Worst decision of my life.

I strongly urge everyone to not use Perfect Tax (in DFW metroplex area) for any of your tax filing or financial purposes. That guy Mahesh Thakkar gives you an appointment, and when you go to the office at the scheduled time, he asks you why are you here.

He is extremely rude and does not know the meaning of customer service. Also when I pointed out the calculation mistakes in the filing, he is asking me why I am checking it as an auditor would.

If you want an honest filing, please do not go to him. I request IRS to audit all filings from this company Perfect Tax and take them to task.

Not as advertised!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This company is deceptive. They get you in the door with promises.

They tell you they will save you money& they will do financial planning through the year, they tell you they are always available &during the year you will have meetings to discuss all things. They get the contract signed and get your money. Thats when you realize Perfect Tax is far from perfect. They had us open several business at our own expense with no explanation advising they will discuss during planning phase yet no planning was ever done. They all claim to be knowledgeable yet only 1 CPA there. They failed to file documents in a timely manner which lead to penalties and interest being charged by the IRS.

They then promised to pay fines (I have in writing) because they admitted fault only to find out they didnt pay it. They never filed or advised that we should file taxes quarterly. They gave no advice or financial planning. They have awful interoffice communication & their staff are unqualified to do the work assigned. No individual account rep for case.

They do not return calls or emails. They refused to surrender personal and business files when asked a total of 4 times. They can not produce any "financial planning" steps they took. Just wanted more money!

Funny thing is since giving them my bank info I got flagged more than 3 times for possible fraud attempts. And each time they were the common denominator after closing old accounts and opening new. Also they hide charges. They say it costs money to file forms with the IRS yet the IRS says filing is free.

So essentially they try to charge for work that was to be included in their overall fee. When I refused to pay it miraculously got filed without a penny more. When things go wrong they claim the person no longer works there. This company is not one I would ever recommend!!!Luckily we refused to sign their lengthy contract.

They tried to get us to sign for a few years we wrote a contract for 1 year. It was the worst decision we have made financially. Now I have to pay a seasoned CPA to investigate their shoddy work, close several unused businesses, and to be sure to tie up loose ends left by Perfect Tax. Even this new CPA cant understand what in the world they were thinking. In all fairness to the company I have given them several opportunities over the course of several months to address my complaints.

At no time did I demand a refund even though they have a 100% guarantee of satisfaction. I am leaving this honest review in good faith.

I am so sorry for your experience, but you are not alone. I had the same experience.

Worst thing is - they charge huge fees up front.

So you have no choice, but to stick with them. The service is pathetic, the staff is inefficient, communication and promptness is way below par. First thing they will ask is - to file an extension. That shows their desire and willingness to work!

I am amazed.

The employees even make fun of the customers, which you can easily hear, if you are sitting within 15-20 meters' distance.

I had brought it to the notice of Mr Director and nothing happened to that employee.

Luckily, I have gotten away from them and filed my taxes with a knowledgeable CPA *** lawyer with peace of mind and way cheaper.
