Screwed - twice!

SquareTrade #1197363
First of all, never buy an "extended warranty" or "protection Plan" for anything. Period. They are most often useless and costly. Stores like to sell you these things because they make alot of money on them. As for your printer problems, you would be better off just buying a replacement printer---they are very cheap nowadays altho the ink cartridges, etc. are where the manufacturers make their money and are thus expensive. But, that is across brands, so buy a good printer from Epson, HP, etc. and you will do fine. If you do some research, say on Amazon.com for printers, you can choose one others give high marks to and have it shipped direct to you rather than buying from a local store like Staples. And, by the way Staples was correct---for the first year or whatever the warranty period is, the manufacturer takes care of any problems, then hopefully the over-priced extended warranty kicks in. But, given the low price of printers, just throw out the one you have and get a new one. Same model, etc. if you prefer. Just make sure it is a new one and not used or re-conditioned, etc.

You may want to consider getting a free consult with an attorney with the aim of suing USAA. Sometimes the threat of a lawsuit will jog them into actually doing their job. Once all is settled, of course find a better insurance company. A letter from an attorney threatening suit works wonders sometimes.

Greedy Reservation Process

Delta Airlines #1197355
I just booked a flight on Delta and was not charged extra to pick my seat. Perhaps you made a reservation too close to departure? Actually, I have never been charged just to pick a seat. I suspect you were trying to choose what airlines now call "preferred" or "special" seating or other terms. These seats cost a few dollars extra on some flights because they are exit aisle seats, aisle seats, etc. This charge is something new a couple of years ago and, yes they are to make extra money from fees just like a baggage charge. Personally, I would like airlines to charge for every carry-on also as some of the dopey fliers nowadays seem to want to take their entire household with them.

Out Dated

Nutrisystem #1196886
You are wasting your money buying NutriSystem. It is over-priced and mostly tasteless. You can do much better by buying frozen Lean Cuisine, Healthy Choice, etal. which are less than $2 on sale at stores like Meijer, Kroger, etc. Walk a mile a day; keep your caloric intake to 1000 calories or less a day and you will lose weight. As for out-dated products, this is becoming common in many stores as they fail to rotate their stock---when they pay some mope $10 an hour to stock they tend to reduce the number of employees. This is not rocket science, even tho your wonderful government thinks it knows better. It is always best nowadays to check the expiration dates on just about everything. Especially at a place like WalMart. I have seen many out-dated items lately at our local WalMart, in all food departments.

When you insist on going to the drive thru you run the risk of getting an order that is not correct unless you sit there after they give you the bag and verify it as being correct. Most people don't do that as they don't want to hold up the line. It's always best to get your duff out of the car and order inside where you can more easily verify you got what you ordered and paid for. Just a thought, mate.

No one can just "take money out" of your bank account if you used a credit card. A debit card, yes but with a credit card you get a monthly statement which you verify with the receipts you save from all purchases made via the credit card that month and then pay it either via a check or your bank's bill pay method. Thus, what happened to you makes no sense. What info are we missing here???

Phony notice of lien

William Stanley And Sons Paving #1194836
If you had your driveway paved by William Stanley & Sons you may, indeed be subject to a "mechanics lien." What happens is that the Stanley company bought materials from Lakeside Industries and didn't pay them. Since the materials were used on your driveway, Lakeside can file a lien against your property for the value of the supplied materials. This happens all the time when companies do the work for you with materials purchased from some other company and then fails to pay them. The supplier company has the right to file a lien against the property owner where the work was done. Get a free consult from an attorney or, better yet call Lakeside and find out what the situation is. It would appear Stanley & Sons gave Lakeside your address as where the work would be done. Good luck.

Bed Bugs

Sealy #1193851
You are blaming Sealy, the manufacturer but perhaps you should blame the retailer you bought the mattress from. It is not unknown for companies to buy used mattresses in good condition and then sell them as new. Inside the mattress, if you open it up you will find all sorts of vermin. Any non-new mattress has to be labeled as such, etc. Check the labels and/or paperwork you received with the mattress. It sounds like you got a used mattress that was cleaned, dressed up nicely, and sold as new. Go to "FTC.GOV" and type in "mattress" in the search field. You will get many results for mattresses, etc. on this government site. By the way, before you throw the mattress in the trash open it up and check the insides out. Getting rid of bed bugs can be difficult. Do some research online to find out the best way. Your whole house will be at risk now, of course.

Continued problems with Standby Line waits and Fast Pass

Walt Disney World #1192510
The whole point of Disney's new fast pass system is to allow you only three fast passes per day in ONE park which results in you and your family having the opportunity to shop, shop and eat the treats all over the park. Disney doesn't make money from the rides, they make money selling you things. Get 'em in and out and to the shops, etc. We stopped going to WDW in Florida after our first experience with their new system and then confirmed our "no go" decision regarding WDW after we heard what Disney did to the Boy Scouts of America and their firing tech personnel in order to bring in foreign workers to replace them. All in all, not a good idea to go to or buy anything Disney anymore. We have taken to driving to the western US states. It is much cheaper and more scenic than going to WDW. See the USA!
