Frustration for a Refund

Avast Software #1208756
You do NOT need to pay for antivirus software. Avast offers a free version that works well for home computer users. There are others also that offer a free version. Avast does not have good customer service in the first place and when you bought it the first time, you unwittingly signed up for automatic renewal. Best cancel it out now before the same thing happens again. To ensure it does not next year, I suggest you cancel the credit card you gave them---I hope you didn't use a debit card---and get another from a different bank so Avast cannot charge you again next year even if you somehow succeed in cancelling it this year, etc.

Behr paint rebate

Home Depot #1208298
Stores like HD and Menard's like these rebates because they incentivize shoppers to buy a product with the expectation of getting a good price and some money returned to their pocket. Menard's especially likes their 11% rebates and runs it multiple times a year. However, if you compare prices, you will find that the 11% rebate is really nothing special and, in fact you can do better by just waiting for a product to go on sale at Menard's or another store. The stores do not process the rebates but hire a rebate processing company to do so. Given that these companies handle thousands of rebates and their personnel are usually minimum wage workers, your chances of actually getting the money in the mail can be problematical. Best to just shop the sales via the store circulars, etc. and forget about the silly rebates. And, yes HD is losing money corporate-wide.

Meijer #1207605
Your cap lock is stuck in the "on" position. Best correct this unless you want people to think you are a minor child just learning how to type. As for Meijer, you did the correct thing in reporting the employee. Whether or not anything happens to the employee is problematical. I know years ago Meijer had a rather strict policy of terminating employees after a certain number of complaints. I suspect that isn't the case now. Meijer has definitely changed in the last couple of years or so---and not for the better. They are doing alot of strange things.

You obviously have no real world experience. They are in business and perform a service. Most people with some common sense would look for and find the leak themselves. A "tune up" is something from the past and almost never something you need to do on a regular or irregular basis. When your vehicle starts acting funny then take it to a real mechanic and describe what it is doing and he will go from there.

Sams Club #1205281
FYI: even tho you may have bought name brand tires from Walmart/Sam's Club you are really getting tires that are NOT the same as those sold under that brand name at other retailers. Walmart has tires made to their specs, which are lower than the usual and regular name brand tires. In other words, cheaper-made tires so Walmart can sell them cheaper, of course. Thus, if you think you are getting a real good deal on name brand tires at Walmart you are mistaken. Pay a few dollars more and get the good tires elsewhere.

Breyers - Ice Cream Review from Brentwood, Tennessee

Breyers #1204902
When purchasing "ice cream" nowadays you have to read the label and ingredients first. If the package says something like "frozen dessert" or such and milk is not listed as the very first ingredient then it is not real ice cream but mostly artificial junk. Breyers has cheapened it's product line considerably in an effort to make a profit and stay in business. I now tend to just buy Gelato which is real ice cream or a more expensive ice cream brand containing real milk and which says "ice cream" on the label.

You should have told her she made a mistake and demanded the correct change. I have seen this happen a couple of times over the years, but on both occasions the cashier asked if she could just "round up" the amount to the next whole dollar. I said on both occasions "no, of course not" and thus received my correct change. This is a scam, of course and plays into most people's unwillingness to stand up for themselves---the same as a cashier at some dollar stores asking if I want to "donate" a dollar to some silly charity "for the children." I always loudly say something like "what, do you think I am ***?"

McAfee LiveSafe (started on 7/15/2016)

Mcafee #1204805
You did well in using Malwarebytes. Windows Defender is really a so-so program and I have disabled it on all my machines. I use Malwarebytes and the free Avast edition plus a couple of other free programs which I run every few days---superantispyware and ccleaner. I always uninstall McAfee whenever it comes bundled with a new computer---make sure you download and run the "clean uninstall" for McAfee or any other antivirus program in order to clean out all left over files that remain when you uninstall from the control panel's remove programs, etc. The more programs you have starting up and running in the background on a machine the more likely you will have conflicts and problems. You might want to also do a web search and find out how to turn off all the tracking and other privacy invading nonsense that comes with Windows 10. I have stuck with Win 7 and intend to do so for as long as I can in order to avoid what I hear is a terrible Windows 10 operating system. Good luck.

There is really no reason to pay for antivirus software. AVG, AVAST and others offer a free version which works very well for most. None of these companies have good customer service. None. Why pay for bad service when you can get protection for free? Uninstall Kaspersky and get a free one, say Avast. Make sure you download and run a clean uninstall of Kaspersky as even if you uninstall it normally, many junk files will remain which can conflict with any new antivirus software.

Slow lap top

Hewlett Packard #1204526
The reasons for your problem(s) could be one or more of many. I would do this for a start: get rid of all the "bloatware" that came with the machine. Go to "pcdecrapifier.com" and download their little, free program which will tell you all the junk HP loaded on your machine. Go thru and uninstall all the junk programs. Then, uninstall whatever anti virus software that came with it, usually either Norton or McAfee. Uninstall it via the control panel remove programs or whatever it is called on your OS. Do a search for "McAfee/Norton clean uninstall" and download it. This will totally get rid of all remaining junk files from your uninstall of the antivirus software. Then, go to "avast.com" and get their FREE antivirus software and use that. It sounds like you have a whole lot of programs starting up and running, using resources that shouldn't be running. Your machine cannot handle all this stuff running at once. A good way to easily see what is starting up and running is a little, free program called "ccleaner" to be found at "piriform.com." You have some work to do but once you get rid of all the junk and stop non-essential programs from starting and using resources your machine will run better, etc. I would ask a friend who is good with computers to help you if you can. Good luck.

You fell for "something new, better and different" but not especially efficient. The store you bought it from cannot help as they didn't manufacture the appliance. They just sell these things. Whirlpool won't help because they really don't care. Most companies nowadays provide little to no real customer service and produce appliances that may or may not work or last long. It's a *** shoot. Your best bet is to do as I always do when purchasing an appliance: buy a basic model without all the bells and whistles for a cheap price and when it breaks and you can't fix it yourself just throw it out and buy another cheap one. For a washer, it's pretty basic stuff---water, soap and an agitator just like the one my mom had back in the 1950s tho without the wringer on top you had to turn by hand to get wring out the water.
