At least the ladies on FoxNews look very attractive compared to the old, shriveled-up ones on other news organizations like CNN or MSNBC-----or, certainly much better to look at than local news! Wow! Hard to look at some of them. We have one on WJRT in Flint, Mi that looks and dresses like a zombie or something out of The Munsters. The men, as you say all appear nicely dressed on both cable and local news. Professional is the word. Apparently, having nice-looking legs is a requirement for the girls on FoxNews---not complaining, mind ya.

Very Poor customer service

Kroger #1715905
I expect the CSR was just following the rules as set down by Kroger corporate or the local manager. The turkey brand you bought is a common brand sold by more than just Kroger. Thus, without a receipt saying you bought it there, who knows where you actually purchased it. You should have talked directly to the store manager rather than accept what the CSR told you. The manager probably has the authority to over-ride the CSR. By the way, always best to check the "use by" or "expiration date" on most all foods now. Frozen turkeys, if left to defrost and then re-frozen, will go bad quickly. If you observe how workers in stores leave carts full of frozen food items out in the aisles to partially defrost, you would be very wary of buying anything frozen, especially something like poultry or fish again from that store.

Mansions can help fix this if they want to. Apparently, they are reluctant to do so. You can go to your local town hall and complain to the supervisor or whatever they call the guy in your area. Each cable company is licensed by the local municipality or whatever and the supervisor or his office can complain to Comcast and demand the open, above-ground cable be buried as required by ordinance---Comcast is ignoring the rules set by the local municipality. Stop calling Comcast and start complaining to the people who actually have some power over Comcast to enforce regulations.

The problem with most of these warranty companies is that THEY determine what is covered and what is not. "Usual wear and tear" is a common excuse. It is never, ever a good idea to buy a car warranty from anyone other than the car dealership which is issued by the auto manufacturer. People buy these things from companies they have never heard of thinking everything will be covered. Nay, 'tis not the case. Now you know.

Usps #1715888
If you don't like the way USPS handles customer service then you are going to really love nationalized health care if it ever becomes law---or Medicare for all which is the same thing. The problem in your case is due to the online seller using the post office to deliver packages, whether is originates with UPS or FedEx and is then finally delivered by the local post office. Companies do this to decrease shipping costs. Most of the time the problem in delivery come not with UPS or FedEX, but once the post office gets their hands on it! The USPS is now unreliable and without any semblance of good customer service.

The easiest way to find something like you want or how to fix or repair something is to do a web search and the odds are someone else has had the same problem or question. Good luck, but next time you need a lawn mower, best to just buy a John Deere from your local dealer---not from a big box store.

Ardent Pest Control #1715868
It really does pay to "read the fine print" before you sign anything. That said, what you can do depends on how you told them you would pay for their service---via a credit or debit card or by check after receiving an invoice. If you gave them your credit or debit card info you will need to tell the bank what happened and see if they can flag the company from charging or withdrawing money from your bank account. If they hem and haw, just cancel the card and get another one from a different bank. If you are to be billed, then send them a letter telling them you believe their salesman lied and committed fraud by inferring this was a one time spray application, etc. and that you consider yourself free and clear of any further obligation. Then, just don't pay any bill they send. Any "hit" on your credit would be minimal.

Are you sure you were talking to HP? I don't know how you found the (supposed) website for HP but if you did a web search the odds are you got a spoofed site, claiming to be HP. To be sure you really don't have malware or viruses on your laptop, before you do anything download "malwarebytes" at Malwarebytes.org and run it. Just run the free edition and don't even sign up for the "trial" of their premium edition. The free version works just fine. If it finds nothing after you run it, then you need to find out what the conflict is between your printer and the computer's WiFi is. Most printers now want to connect to WiFi and what I would do is uninstall the printer completely and then go back with your printer's installation disk and re-install it, but read carefully everything it tells you. And remember for the future---always verify you have the real HP help site by going to HP.com and finding it. Or, look in your documentation that you received with the computer. From the situation and reaction of the person you called, it is rather unlikely you were talking to HP. And, of course never, ever let someone take remote control of your machine!!! You might now have who-knows-what put on...

Your brake fluid was probably low due to a leaking seal if the car is a few years old or older. Not a big deal, but how and why did they tell you it was "contaminated?" They should have showed it to you so you could see the color of it, etc. Topping it off will solve the problem, but only for so long. Take a look at the ground under the engine in the morning to see if you have any drips on the ground. Put a piece of clean cardboard underneath if not parked on a cement slab. A normal engine will have no drips from anything. If you see drips on the ground you might want to take the vehicle to a local auto repair shop for an inspection.

These home warranty companies stay in business because the majority of policy-holders never have need of their services or, if they do they become so frustrated---as in your case---that they eventually cancel the policy. However, more homeowners increasingly sign up than cancel so the company continues the money flow and stays in business regardless of bad customer service, repair work, etc. Remember, the local companies these places contract repair work out to may not be the most reliable nor knowledgeable. Best to keep your money in a mason jar until something breaks and you need to dip into it to pay for some repair at sometime in the future. How much money have you wasted on premiums to this company over the years to then find out they provide bad services? Figure it out.

Never, ever pay for something online or magazine subs with a debit card!! Always use a credit card or request they "bill me" and then pay by check. As for stopping the current sub, go to their website---they have one and find the "customer service" or "contact us" button and go from there to enter your account number, etc. and a button to cancel the sub.

When you initially contract for services of any kind it is wise to fully read the contract/materials before you sign in order to determine exactly what services they say they will provide---and anything relating to cancellation of services. In your case, you believed the salesman regarding cancelling and then believed the office regarding penalties for cancellation. When you contract for services, never, ever give them a credit card or, worse yet a debit card but demand a monthly or periodic bill which you pay via a check. That way, when/if there is a dispute, you can withhold payment until it is resolved.

Best to just find a local dentist and pay him out of pocket. The days of a washer lasting 20 years are long gone---as is getting good repair service from most of the big box stores. The repairman is either minimally competent; told by management to keep the repair costs down; told to never, under pain of imprisonment request a replacement washer; or, he just doesn't care to do a good job. Probably best to not buy a washer with a glass top---I find the concept of a glass top on a washer rather odd, if not outright absurd. However, bottom line: I would buy a new washer with none of the bells and whistles---a basic model---and get rid of the glass-topped one. And, of course save your money on buying an extended warranty! Both basic washers and driers are cheap-enough to just junk them if they break and you cannot fix them yourself. I like Lowe's and have purchased many appliances through them, altho never an extended warranty on anything so I cannot judge their repair work.

You might not be satisfied with buying carpet and having it installed thru Home Depot any more than through Lowe's. These big box stores sell the carpet to you and then give the installation to some local contractor. Therein lies the problem: many of them are not so competent, but will accept the low fee paid by Lowe's for the installation as they need to have jobs and make money. Over the years, I have found it is best to do your homework when buying carpet and other flooring by talking to friends, neighbors, etc. and then avoiding the big box stores altogether. Go to a smaller, privately-owned carpet/flooring place that has been in business for a number of years and who will more than likely have a few installers it uses all the time who are very good at what they do. The small flooring store will take responsibility for the job, unlike a big box store. I do hope you didn't pay Lowe's in full until the job was done and to your satisfaction. UPS and FedEx both will, at times deliver packages to the post office who will then deliver to the recipient at their leisurely pace---or, to someone down the street or it will just disappear but say delivered. When the package is actually delivered by UPS or FedEx, there is never a problem. Only with the post office do we have problems.
