American Home Shield #1213770
Depending on your email server, you should be able to check their emails as "spam" or "junk", etc. Then, when you receive new emails from their address your email server should automatically send them to your junk or spam folder. Check out how to do this in your help/support/settings within your email program if you don't see a junk or spam button to click on.

Shipping fees are excessive

Nuwave Oven #1213764
They charge a large shipping charge because their product is cheaply-made and unreliable and they need to make a good profit and that is where the large shipping charge comes in. Add on the shipping charge to your purchase price and your oven becomes rather expensive, does it not? This is how we learn.

Either new management/owner or new cook(s) or, since they and you are in California they need to make money to stay in business what with the excessive tax rates, regulations and high salaries for unskilled labor they need to cut down on food expenses by using cheap food. I suggest you move to a state that is more business-friendly. Or, you could complain to Governor Moonbeam.

New York Life Insurance #1213700
The reason is because smoking tobacco has been so demonized over the past three decades and thus those who indulge in this "despicable" activity have become pariahs with increasingly little to no rights whatsoever---thus they can be penalized for their activity. Drug use is now something not of your own making but something for the do-gooders to help you with. In any event, you are correct in your analysis.

Dollar General Corporation - Customer Care Review from Dallas, Texas

Dollar General Corporation #1213505
If a cashier demands to see your ID in every instance, no matter how old the customer appears to be it is always wise to just leave all your stuff on the counter and walk away. And, of course never shop at that store again. Cashiers are told to do this because management doesn't wish to be caught selling to minors as the state(s) conduct "sting" visits to catch them selling to minors. However, common sense never enters into the dictates of management. Thus, leaving your intended purchases and walking out is your best option.

Not sure why anyone would allow their children to participate in these fund-raising scams in the first place, but what did you expect they would want email addresses for, anyway? It is always best to 1. never give strangers your real email address and 2. always have some "throwaway" email address to use for strangers, etc. Gmail, Yahoo and others offer free email addresses and you can make up many to have on hand for scams like this. Now you know.

You would be better off actually visiting a local IRS office. Traverse City has one but I believe it is by appointment only. However, there is one in Saginaw that you can just walk in, tho they close for lunch. Here is a link to the offices in Michigan that are open. Years ago there was one in Mt. Pleasant and other cities, buy that was much too convenient for taxpayers so they gradually closed them down. You will get better results by talking to someone in a local office. Here is the link:

Magazine auto renewals are really not a problem unless you gave them your credit or debit card info. Never, ever subscribe to a magazine and give them this info. Always tell them to "bill me." Then, if they auto renew you, just don't pay them and they will cancel the subscription after an issue or two. Auto renewal is the current scam many magazines like to use.

If you really do have Adobe stock, don't sell it as they are making money duping people into buying their products. I haven't seen any problems with Adobe's cash flow so their stock should perform ok---unless the market tanks, etc. As for their customer support, no company has good customer support anymore. In a throwaway society when you have a problem with a product or support, etc. you just throw it out and buy another. There must be similar products for you to get other than Adobe.

NEW HONDA SNOW BLOWER

Honda #1210355
This happens, tho uncommon. My neighbor has had a Honda snowblower for years now with no problems. I bought a John Deere snowblower some 7 years ago and it works like a charm. I strongly recommend John Deere for most of their equipment. Your machine is still in warranty and they should fix it. Just keep an eye on it as you use it this winter and if any problems promptly have the dealer look at it, etc. while under warranty. Depending on the warranty length, I would get it fixed and then put a sign out front with it and dump it ASAP if another or the same problem occurs because once the warranty is up, you are on the hook for all repairs. Once you get rid of it go to a John Deere dealer and buy one of their machines.

Sears - Eyeglasses Review from Vandergrift, Pennsylvania

Sears #1210353
I hate to tell you this, but the glasses you spent "hundreds of dollars" on consist of, basically dollar store frames enclosing lenses which can be made for a couple of dollars. For this you spend alot of money purchasing eyeglasses from places like Sears. If you are unable to wear the cheap dollar store eyeglasses for reading which come in many different strengths and the same for distance then buy your glasses at a place like---dare I say it?---Walmart. They are among the cheapest and most reliable places to do this. You can spend alot of money on glasses but the largest part of any eyeglasses cost is for the frame---extremely profitable to the company selling them---I need eyeglasses for both reading and distance, tho I really can get by well with none for distance. I shop the dollar stores for the strengths I need for both and pay particular attention to the frames. The metal frames are best and hold up well. I stock up as I see them in stores as they change their inventory often. Good luck.

DON'T SIGN UP

Amora Coffee #1209383
Your biggest mistake was in giving them authority to debit your bank account via, I presume a debit card. Bad move. Your second was in not thoroughly reading what the terms of the trial were. Most of these "trial" things enroll you in automatic shipments. A hint: open up a Paypal account and put a few dollars in it. Then, when you see one of these trial things use the Paypal account as payment. You will only be out what you have in the Paypal account and when you have a problem with them you are only out the few dollars you have in the Paypal account. Any charges in excess of your balance won't be accepted or paid to them. Make sure you don't give Paypal your credit or debit card info and from now on, stop using debit cards---they are very dangerous. Always use a credit card online.

Avast does not have good customer service in the first place and when you bought it the first time, you unwittingly signed up for automatic renewal. Best cancel it out now before the same thing happens again. To ensure it does not next year, I suggest you cancel the credit card you gave them---I hope you didn't use a debit card---and get another from a different bank so Avast cannot charge you again next year even if you somehow succeed in cancelling it this year, etc.

Behr paint rebate

Home Depot #1208298
Stores like HD and Menard's like these rebates because they incentivize shoppers to buy a product with the expectation of getting a good price and some money returned to their pocket. Menard's especially likes their 11% rebates and runs it multiple times a year. However, if you compare prices, you will find that the 11% rebate is really nothing special and, in fact you can do better by just waiting for a product to go on sale at Menard's or another store. The stores do not process the rebates but hire a rebate processing company to do so. Given that these companies handle thousands of rebates and their personnel are usually minimum wage workers, your chances of actually getting the money in the mail can be problematical. Best to just shop the sales via the store circulars, etc. and forget about the silly rebates. And, yes HD is losing money corporate-wide.
