Contempt Vote On AG Barr 05-08-2019

Fox News #1684098
Hate to bring this to your attention, but no one is forcing you to watch FoxNews or any other broadcast station. You can get all the news you desire from the internet---thousands of news sites---and free. Why pay for cable. You do realize that you are subsidizing all those other channels you never watch or do not like, don't you, through your monthly cable bill. They all get a cut of what you pay, whether you watch a particular channel or not. Cut the cord!

Golden Corral #1684092
Your missive is rather short on some substantive details, to wit: did you provide an accident report to the manager, in writing? What was his reaction? Did you see a doctor to assess any medical damage? I hope you didn't just hobble out of the restaurant without reporting the incident. At this point, you might wish to get a free consult asap with an attorney and see what options you have. Golden Corral has insurance for situations like this but they or any other company will not take you seriously unless you have legal representation. Good luck.

Clear Choice #1684086
You might wish to get an exam by a local dentist you or friends trust and see what he thinks about your problems. He may refer you to a local specialist depending on what he thinks. You paid alot of money for something that doesn't work correctly and then paid an extra 10k for what is claimed to be better. I suggest a second---or third opinion at this point. Clear choice is a large outfit with locations all over the states. Being large does not make them the best choice. It's always best to consult with your local dentist when you have problems like yours or any dental problems out of the ordinary. The local guy can refer you to a good provider as he usually knows who is good and who is not.

Overcharged for service

No shop is going to charge you the same price for a part that they paid for it. They need to charge more in order to make some money. As for the labor, they can charge whatever they want. When you go to a repair shop, the first thing you need to ask is what is your hourly labor charge, or what is the fixed rate to replace the part you need. You are under no obligation to have Firestone do repairs on your vehicle if you don't like their prices. Next time you need repairs, shop around. Take this as a learning experience.

Express Scripts #1683698
It is what it is---their policy, that is. This problem can arise when you use mail order instead of going into a pharmacy and getting your scripts filled locally. The unfortunate fact is that many health plans mandate the use of places like Express Scripts in order to save money. If your health plan uses ES and you get your insurance thru work, then complain to your company---they are the ones who chose the health plan---or, blame yourself for picking a plan that only allows you to use a mail order pharmacy. Sounds like you have plenty of these particular pills on hand, hence the wait of over two months before you noticed the problem. One thing I have learned, especially from filling scripts at local pharmacies like Meijer, is to inspect each one when I get them home for exact count accuracy and condition, etc. At that point, if a problem, the pharmacy will take them back. Over the years, I have had missing pills and an entirely wrong medicine given to me and with a local pharmacy it is easy to correct. Good luck with a mail order place!

I buy shoes when on clearance at stores and when I get a good price I buy a few and store in a closet so when a pair of cheap, foreign-made shoes goes bad for whatever reason, I throw them out and get a new pair from the closet of whatever kind I wish to wear. Clairol #1683622
Clairol was sold to Proctor & Gamble in 2001---who also now owns Gillette---and in 2016 Coty bought Clairol from P&G. When these acquisitions/mergers occur, products tend to be changed and the odds are that the Clairol product(s) you have always used have, indeed been changed. You will need to look at the ingredients in the ones you use and try to avoid any "strange" or unknown ones, or, do a web search for something like "clairol hair loss" and see what other consumers are saying. In the meantime, of course avoid Clairol products and find another. Remember, tho that hair coloring products are, by their very nature hard on your hair and scalp due to the ingredients used to color hair. Your hair loss is probably due to the effects of something in the Clairol doing harm to your scalp and the hair follicles, causing your existing hair to wither and die while your scalp is not able to grow new hair due to the chemicals in the hair coloring.

Bear in mind, tho that insuring an auto or home, etc. with a company that has only a large call-in center to help you when you need it is not necessarily the best place to insure anything. Having a local agent to whom you can go to locally when you have a problem is always the best. When you have problems or questions, nothing can substitute for a local agent. In the meantime, transfer the script or get a new one and take it to a different pharmacy. As an aside, given the problems/symptoms you described and depending on the state you reside in, you might want to consider, as an additional pain reliever marijuana. Do some research. Being dependent on opiods is not a good, long term option for pain relief, as you probably already know. There are alternatives nowadays. I found your comment about an hour and a half to get thru security from Epcot to Magic Kingdom confusing. Do you mean once you were at the Magic Kingdom from entrance it took you an hour and a half to get thru? Or, are you saying that it took you an hour and a half to get from Epcot to Magic Kingdom and thru security at the Magic Kingdom front entrance? Either way, an hour and a half is way too long and something we never ran into prior to 2015 when we stopped going. We now travel throughout the US and spend far less money visiting the national parks, etc. than we did when going to WDW. WDW is no longer customer-friendly and there are much better ways to spend your money on vacations.

Kroger #1682636
Sounds like that particular Kroger is located in an area where retail stores are subject to an unsustainable amount of "shrinkage"-----in other words, shoplifting, waste and damage to the store and/or products. As a result, they have, out of necessity, sought ways to alleviate the problems and a higher level of store security has been implemented. Try another Kroger in a better area and see the difference. As for the Kroger brand goods, be aware that Kroger itself does not manufacture these products. Usually, a major brand will manufacture the, say canned goods and label them as a Kroger brand. Sometimes, Kroger or the store brands will specify certain ingredients, quality of the vegetables, etc. in order to make them somewhat cheaper than the name brand. As a rule, store brands are every bit as good as a name brand food, just cheaper to buy.

Don't expect good or even anything other than poor customer service from Roku. They are in the business of selling Roku products, not customer service. You are, basically on your own. As for the poor Spectrum signal, it starts with the download speed you are getting. On a cable connection with ethernet, Spectrum will usually get 90-96 mbs, more than sufficient for streaming. On a wireless or other connection it will be less. Your Roku, under setting, can tell you the download speed. Or, go to speedtest.net and find the current download speed you are getting. The link is: http://www.newschannel10.com/story/36428098/recall-alert-john-deere-recalls-lawn-tractors-due-to-crash-hazard/ However, your problem really started when you bought your machine at Home Depot instead of directly through your local John Deere dealer. Home Depot and others sell John Deere lawn tractors but the local dealer sets them up and does the warranty work. The kicker is that the dealer will take care of those who bought directly through them first---that's just the way it is. In your case, contact John Deere corporate directly---they have a website. The fact that the replacement tranny is no good should lead corporate to authorize another replacement, even tho the original warranty period is over. I now have three Green Machines and all were bought thru a dealer. I get great service from my local dealer but if, indeed the replacement is no good, John Deere should ensure you are taken care of, regardless where you bought it. Complain and do all you can thru corporate and even if you get it fixed, consider another brand in the future given the hard time you have had to get this resolved. Brand loyalty is good but if they treat you badly, say goodbye.

Tractor Supply #1679044
Most of the "chain" stores like Meijer, Walmart, Menard's, and TSC have reduced the number of employees working at any one time in order to cut labor costs. Most, if not all states and some localities have minimum wage requirements which costs the stores money to pay people for basically unskilled jobs and since labor costs are among the highest expenses in a business the tendency is to have fewer employees working in an attempt to cut costs. The result is long lines at the checkout and fewer employees throughout the store to help customers. The best thing to do is try to shop at stores that have more employees working and this usually means smaller stores like local hardware stores, grocery stores and the like. No reason to spend your money at a store that treats the customer like dirt.

Most, if not all towns have many plumbers and you probably know someone who has had occasion to use one. Talk to friends, neighbors, etc. for a referral to a good, reliable one---never pick someone whose name you got from a website. Now you know. This is how we learn. A good plumber will have but one machine which is inserted into the sink and is called a "snake" in common parlance. It is electrically-driven and once inserted into the drain will whirl around, cleaning the clogs---there are usually more than one---all the way down the drain line until he reaches the main drain which is much larger, allowing the clogged material(grease, food, etc.) to flow out to the sewer drain. Call a good plumbing company in town next time or now if you still have a clogged drain.

Carding seniors

Walgreens #1675770
Some retailers are taking the sale of alcohol and tobacco products to the extreme, partially due to state and local threats for selling to minors. In my state they like to "card" people buying tobacco who "look as if they are under 40 years of age" even tho the legal age is 21. A few years ago I wanted to buy a bottle of wine in my local KMart along with a bunch of other items such as clothing and tools. The cashier insisted I prove I was over 21. I am decades older than that and look it. I ended up just leaving the stuff on the counter and walking out, never to return to a KMart again. Ah! The joys and benefits of a "global economy." In your situation the plug you have looks like an ungrounded plug mainly used in Australia, New Zealand, China & Argentina among some others. Stores selling travel supplies will have an adapter you can use that plugs into your plug adapting it to US use but you also need to check the labeling or instructions that came with the sofa to make sure it is for 110/115 voltage. If it says 220v then you will also need a converter to downstep the 220v to 110v, this converter also sold in stores mentioned. Thus, you should be able to use the sofa but only by adapting the plug and converting the voltage if necessary. Why any company would sell a piece of furniture to US customers incompatible to US electrical standards is another matter. Good luck. You might want to find a friend or someone who understands this situation more before you leap into action on getting this sofa to work. Good luck.
