WORST INSURANCE COMPANY EVER

Progressive Insurance #1738673
Your experience shows how unwise it is to obtain insurance thru a company that only deals with you online or via a telephone. The best way is to get insurance with a company that has local agents whom you can contact and talk to for advice, etc. Nice to see you reduced your insurance by going with another company. Progressive advertises alot but is not the cheapest nor is it the best.

Price gouging

GEICO #1738198
GEICO started out as "government employees insurance company" and has never been a really cheap way to insure anything, much less automobiles. Hard to believe someone would rack up two seat belt infractions but you must know that most gendarmes love to stop little old ladies and drivers they don't think will cause a problem and give them a ticket for not wearing a seat belt. There was one copper a few years ago in my area who actually used a pair of binoculars so he could spot someone not wearing a seat belt from far away. He racked up alot of money for the municipality in tickets he gave out to granny and such. Progressive is, indeed cheaper but you might also consider what happens when you need to talk to an agent. If you don't wish to get caught in the phone menu and then try to make yourself understood to someone in a foreign land, then also check out other insurance companies.

Stanton Optical #1738195
You might wish to not only replace Stanton Optical as your place to get eye exams and glasses but also your husband---sounds like a really "sterling" guy. Most opticians and such nowadays do not make their own glasses but send the order out to a third party. As for the limited frames available on the two-for special, this is a common come-on to lure you to them with the hope you decide to buy the more expensive frames instead of the dollar store ones on "sale." Remember, the profit margin in frames is tremendous. Most are fragile and junk to begin with. The ones on sale are more like dollar store frames for reading glasses. Unreliable, weak and subject to breakage if stared at.

Hate to tell you, but you made the mistake of using a debit card or giving this company your bank information when ordering. Never, ever use a debit card or similar when shopping online---or, just about anywhere. You know why: your money is taken immediately and, altho you can still dispute the debit you will more than likely wait who-knows-how-long before you get it back---if at all. Since you haven't received the goods, go ahead and file a dispute and hope for the best. Remember: always use a credit card online!

I haven't seen this in Menard's in my area yet, but like you wouldn't even think of giving personal info to a machine. The last couple of keys I had made were at Walmart and they worked fine and the price was good. Apparently, Menard's wants to automate the key making process to save time for their employees to assist in a helpful, efficient and quick manner customers like yourself. From what I have seen of those "helpful" employees at my area's Menard's this new system will only allow more employees to sprint off whenever a customer appears who might have a question of them.

Barnes And Noble #1738160
Not sure why you would buy from B&N online when you can probably get much the same price on books, etc. at Amazon.com but "to each his own" as they say. B&N is slowly sinking as a powerful force in the book market and slowly contracting their inventory to where their selection of books in the store are much fewer while attempting to make up the difference by stocking children's toys and other junk not appealing to those of us who used to like buying books in their stores. Finding a large selection of history books of all kinds is now a useless endeavor, for example. As for your problems with their website, remember that a website is only as good as the computer programmers a retailer hires. Hire cheap ones and you get unreliable results.

LL Bean #1738156
L.L. Bean has been trading on their name for a few years now and I am surprised anyone would think their stuff is any better than what you can find elsewher---and probably cheaper. Take a look at the boots you complain about and see where they are made. I suspect not in this country. There are retailers out there who not only sell quality, well-made goods but insist on American-made but you have to search for them and then give them your business. Footwear, in general is now made in some foreign land and is of dubious quality with cheap leather and the rest. They just don't last. Good luck. I am guessing that you won't be sending us anything from LL Bean for Christmas this year, eh?

Sounds like you opted for a high deductible($5000) health insurance plan and were under the assumption all costs above that amount would be covered but now they say, "whoa, you are mistaken." You apparently believed what the sales rep told you prior to purchase. The rule is to never, ever believe anything anyone says until you verify what is and what is not covered by actually reading the policy rules and conditions. I suspect they cover only physicians and hospitals, etc. that are in THEIR plan and no other. Similar to Blue Cross where they will pay a large percentage of bills from physicians who are "preferred" but none from those who are "non-preferred." We don't know what your monthly premiums are, but they are most certainly lower than if you had a good, low deductible plan. Gotta read the fine print. Remember that for next year and choose accordingly. Hard lesson to learn.

The new trick among some medical offices is to charge not only for the basic office call but for "other" tests and things they do or perform. This is a good, albeit terrible lesson for you and others to learn nowadays: never, ever trust or believe what is said by the people of any organization concerning what is and what is not covered, etc. Their objective is to sell you something and the actual facts don't matter as long as you believe them and they make the sale. As someone said "trust, but verify." Always read the contract and/or the materials furnished to you via your policy or warranty---not the sales pitch. You might also now consider exploring other insurance companies. Get some quotes from a couple or three other companies for the future. Just because USAA caters to military personnel doesn't mean they really take care of you better than other companies. Just saying.

Most likely a poor, partially broken connection somewhere in the telly. Look in the instruction booklet you got with the set and it will have a customer service number in it. Or, go online and do a search for Element and find their website and it will list a "contact us" or similar to contact them. Bottom line, however is that actually finding the bad connection is next to impossible for you and they won't want to even try. If the set is still under warranty, they may do something, but who knows what? You need to realize that Element is not that reliable of a telly, altho they sell them cheaper than many and thus people buy them thinking they are getting a "deal." Good luck.

You obviously have done some research on this topic. From what I have read also, it is not recommended you use full synthetic oil in older vehicles and/or in vehicles which have been using conventional oil for the reasons you outlined. Shops charge more for full synthetic oil and thus like to push that product. As for Firestone accepting responsibility for anything, you can probably whistle for it as there is no way to prove negligence on their part. After all, you agreed to have them put in synthetic oil. If you pay attention and watch how some store employees leave carts full of frozen items just sitting in the aisles for long periods of time you will understand how frozen food can go bad. It used to be that grocery stores would stock in the night for the next day but now, due to cost cutting and the new "just in time" inventory management system stores now use the stocking is done in the morning of, resulting in aisles being crowded with carts, etc. while the employees take their sweet time stocking the shelves, etc. You can contact Marie Callendar and complain.
